Splashing on rats? What's that?
Splashing on rats? What's that?
its a bug in OSRS where you can get infinite magic xp 100% afk. Like literally leave the PC for 8 hours.
the exp rates for it are so shitty I don't know why even the poorest people would even bother doing it
I tried it once, got from like 40-50ish Magic leaving my PC on for 6 hours. I don't really get why people keep doing it after 55, when you could just Agility Alch to 99.
the exp rates for it are so shitty I don't know why even the poorest people would even bother doing it
because it's negative effort training. Which I find funny because people always cry about any OSRS/RS3 QOL update as "omg easyscape!!!!!!!!!!" yet they voted to keep fucking splashing...
Urrrgghhhh. Went to get myself a firecape and I didn't switch my curses fast enough (twice)... What made it painful is that I was adrenaline regen scumming all the time so I have more supplies at the end so that took longer to get to Jad in the first place
because it's negative effort training. Max melee in 3 months by leaving the game open when you sleep.
Not to mention Nightmare Zone. Max melee in 3 months by leaving the game open when you sleep.
Anyone abuses splashing/NMZ then cries about "easyscape :(:((((( m-muh cape integrity muh achievement" can fuck right off
Oh, I didn't know splashing was an exclusive thing to OSRS. How have they worked around it in RS3?
Oh, I didn't know splashing was an exclusive thing to OSRS. I'm a runescape player since its inception, and I had a level 84 warrior I played on sporadically. In December of 2012 I committed a grave error around Christmas time. I logged into my account from a computer at work. I was immediately hacked, and when I regained control of my account it had been stripped of everything valuable. I stopped playing in disgust, save to log in in February of 2013 to find that my account had been permanently banned for macroing and gold farming. I sent mails to Jagex support asking for help, but never heard back. Many months passed and I gave up on Runescape. The day before yesterday, I logged in again, hoping to see what had changed, and intending to bite the bullet and create a new character. On a whim, I tried my old username and password. They worked. To my surprise, I was even able to play again on my old character. It was depressing what had happened, but my friend who wanted me to get back into the game gifted me a rune set. Yesterday, I logged in again in the morning, and went mining for Runite ore. The hacker had powerleveled my mining from 80 to 99. I felt it was the least he could have done in return for emptying my bank and taking everything valuable, and I intended to make my money back using it. I ran into some UI difficulties when I accidentally logged into a legacy-only server, and asked a passing miner for assistance in figuring out the new UI. He asked me where I'd been, and I told him my story. The dude told me to follow him, marched me to the grand exchange, and gifted me a full dragon plate set, a dragonfire shield I don't even have the defense to use, about one million worth of commodities to sell, including an abyssal whip, and a full complement of dragon weapons, including a dragon 2h sword, dual dragon longswords, dual dragon maces, and a dragon kiteshield. He even gave me an amulet of fury, itself worth over a million. I was standing there blubbering in chat, and someone else happened to see, came by, and gifted me an ornate trim kit for the Dragon set. This good Samaritan who gave me, a stranger, all of these things, asked me suddenly to trade it all back. I did in an instant. He laughed, said that nobody, in all the years he'd tried this, had ever returned his items, they all ran with it. He traded them back to me, wished me good luck, and left. What a fucking saint. In an attempt to change my own ways I spent an hour today mining runite, and whenever I encountered a player in the same area of too low a level to mine it, I gifted him the contents of my inventory. His in-game name is Wilzjl. Should you ever encounter this man, or should you feel the need to say hello, mention that you know Haranthir, (the name of my character), and thank him again on my behalf.
I think Runescape has some of the most generous players I've seen in any game, really. Though at the same time it has a large amount of beggars asking for free stuff.
Everyone, Vic is back. i got over 2.1k points for all the bonus xp i had, at least 680 something was from Dungeoneering. just be aware, the the Rare Item Tokens are extreme scams. the specific limited rares are already bought and the random rare button is sold out. You're better off buying skill xp outfit bits, or Ethereal. sadly no Shark Suit, Spring Cleaner or Silverhawks. though i could understand why they'll avoid Shark suit they'll want to use it for when Vic comes next time, plus the Spring Cleaner would've had dangerous effects to the market if everyone had access to it.
What a fucking saint.
Holy shit, that's so awesome. I love it when players are so positive and awesome that they make the very game around them so much better. That really is fantastic. (I don't even play Runescape, but hearing stories like this makes me wish I did!)

Me and others in my clan usually give new players a thing or two. Last new guy ended up with a full barrows set, like 4 whips and a sara sword. He's been playing with us for a month and he cant use them yet, since he just likes fishing :v
I actually pray for puzzle boxes, less chances to get special equipment scrolls, fuck those
Never too late to jump in!
I feel like it probably is for me. I looked at some gameplay and the like, and it looks very dated; I'm not sure I'd be able to get into it very much.
I think Runescape has some of the most generous players I've seen in any game, really. Though at the same time it has a large amount of beggars asking for free stuff.
I made 2~3m from freebies beggar game stronk
I feel like it probably is for me. Just because it's a bit dated doesn't mean you can't enjoy it and have fun. The original combat system is unique compared to most modern games, it's similair to old, classic RPG games. Point and click, hack and slash.
I feel like it probably is for me. Haven't played in a long time, are bots still annoying? I quit a few months before the EoC shit. Is it worth it to setup the EoC attacks/action bar? I set my combat mode to the legacy setting because I couldn't be arsed with it, but should I, does it give a big advantage?

The various "bot nukes" tore the botting community a part, especially with sites like RSBuddy going legit. Playing in EOC mode gives you a large combat advantage in many areas. It's worth setting up. If you don't want to press buttons or just feel extra lazy you can set it to Revolution Mode.

Also has slider puzzles too.
puzzle boxes are really easy to solve if you know how to do it. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Fttg#Solution
After you've done like 4 they only take like 5mins tops each [editline]17th April 2015[/editline]
its a bug in OSRS where you can get infinite magic xp 100% afk. Like literally leave the PC for 8 hours.
It's not a bug, not at all. Huge negative magic attack bonus causing you to not be able to complete the spell isn't a bug. For people thinking "why didn't I do this" bear in mind it takes months of constant splashing for 99
Damn, I liked the pre-EoC system more. Guess I get used to it.
You can just slap Revolution on and just hit your thresholds about the same amount of times as you hit Special attacks back in the old combat system, really.
its weird that some bots are still around [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34721652/Screenshots/bot.png[/t] this guy has been crafting nature runes like 24/7 for 2+ months on the same world, i wonder how the bot manages to not get detected.
Jagex doesn't really care at this point. Every subscriber counts.
