Imo, it's more fun with a team. the pointrate was kind of slow at the beginning, but it was pretty awesome at the anima-tree part. think i jumped from like 30-40% to over 100% just from picking the seeds there. there's also 1 minor bug; the cap is about 1k points a day from the minigame but if you don't get 1k in the first match then the game will cap it at 999. Also you're limited to so much activity on the spines per day, but because of how they work; why spend effort clicking the spines when you can balance on them? the balancing spines doesn't regrow unless the scenario ends....its basically a afk grind for the 500 points or so of fragments. the spines appear shared daily, though im unsure if the Parasite's Tuska fragment drops counts towards the skilling daily limit, or if there's another limit of shards you can collect. they're arguably the worst just because of the obtuse drop rates. chances are the event is going to evolve during the weeks, if the leaked Airut mobs inside the bestiary means anything. (vaguely recall champion, archer and brute)
The cap seems a bit buggy. There are reports of people reaching over 2K while others are capped at 1.5K. Not sure what the fuck is going on. Just going to do the minigame daily. Collecting the fragments takes so long and it's incredibly tedious work, for a small amount of reward points.
Is there a limit to how many times you can play? I've done three rounds and now the reset timer is gone. Nevermind, it shows back up in the last ~20 mins or so
why do F2P players get treated like dogshit we can only create bronze arrows not even iron
mining is such a damn chore at 55. I wish there was more to mine, or repeatable mining like with the big woodcutting trees.
mining is such a damn chore at 55. I wish there was more to mine, or repeatable mining like with the big woodcutting trees.
Time consuming, but try hunting for shooting stars on low pop worlds. Exp drops each stage, but it's pretty AFKable
Gets better at 77.
wish I didnt have to wait til then. At least Im pumping all my bonus xp in it, so that'll lessen the burden a little bit at least.

It's decent XP and semi-afk(Only have to click every minute or so and occasionally move to a new spot.) You also get the golden mining outfit.

Only 58 mining right now though, so I think I'll take a break after I hit 60, I want to try to get 60 in every skill eventually.
So I haven't played this in 5 or so year. I have a level 99 sitting around, is there anything to do as a f2p at that level?

Not very much to do except level your skills. I'd highly recommend paying the subscription fee.
scummy to hike the price to higher than that of Netflix after adding microtrans imho
Blame IVP, they fucked over MapleStory, Runescape is going the same way sadly.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/kKRTrEd.png[/t] RSBuddy got its shit together as well, I'm surprised how nice these graphics look. I was expecting them to look even more jagged and sharp in resizeable. Edit: A gift from Reddit, the resizeable mode broke all the bots. Hey everyone, I am going to play Runescape again. Both RS3 and OSRS look pretty fun, so which would you guys recommend I go with?
do you like cosmetic puke, casualized combat and skill training, and years of caked-on dead content? then RS3 is for you! do you want a coherent combat system, less power-creep, and a greater sense of accomplishment? then OSRS is the way to go!
coherent combat system? you mean the one where melee is pretty much the best option in all pve situations? i mean come on i like both games but osrs definitely has its flaws compared to rs3
It's not though
casualized combat? then RS3 is for you! do you want a coherent combat system? then OSRS is the way to go!
LOL. You literally click on a monster and chomp the occasional lobster while waiting for it to die. It's the most boring combat I've ever seen in an MMO. RS3 is unbalanced and needs work, but at least it's trying to be fun.

Then RS3 is for you! Do you want the jagged, flat, and regurgitated mess of an obsolete relic dredged up solely for those incapable of adapting to progress and preferring to stagnate in their outdated, cancerous cesspool while maintaining a sense of elitism for no apparent reason? Then OSRS is the way to go!
Kettle says hi pot. Rly though if you think EoC is some monunmental leap over RS2 combat you're kidding yourself. It's literally press 1-5 buttons over and over and to get the same damn result as clicking on a monster and eating lobbies. all Jagex has added to COMBAT ACTION FUN!!!1 is all the button pressing of any other WoWish MMO without any of the dynamic; lazy as fuq. Poison is meaningless, a lot of equipment slots have been devalued, weapons are restricted to one attack style and all use generic animations. The only long run positives to EoC we're making mages and rangers up to speed with Melee and even that could have been done in a more interesting way for magic.
1-5 still involves more player choice and action than "left-click and wait for it to die". Not to say that RS combat is amazing or even much good at all, but EoC is still an upgrade and I'd still take it over the old system that barely changed from when I started in 2001.
I'd say that EOC is an improvement, but it's still runescape, after all. You still sit there, you just need to press a few buttons to make it work...but then again, theres systems that just do the whole damn thing for you anyways, so it ends up just being a flashier version of the original. Also, poison is pretty damn meaningless in rs2 anyways, especially since the only good weapon to use it on is the dds, which is just a low level spec weapon.
Is SwiftKit still a thing? Or should I use some other tool, or should I use none at all?
