Strategy for an untrimmed slayer cape: Get other combat skills to 98 and get slayer to as high as it can possibly be. Train ranged to 40. Complete the quest to get the dwarven multicannon, and take advantage of the fact that it only gives ranged exp (and not hitpoints). Get remaining slayer levels via the cannon. :v:
Do you guys have an active cc because this reddit one is fucking cancer (osrs btw)
Do you guys have an active cc because this reddit one is fucking cancer (osrs btw)
No. Everyone here are pretty much in larger communities such as SA/Reddit etc. Also, friend chats are cross-server just like the friends list.
There should be a facepunch clan chat
There should be a facepunch clan chat
I agree, reddit's is decent but the amount of "dank may may a q p" spam is almost insufferable
there's not enough of us playing at any single time for a clan chat to be worth the effort. we've tried
Fletching is dumb. The final object you work to make is worth less than any of the raw materials needed to create it.
Scrimsaws. :v:
Scrimsaws. :v:
Also Crystal Knives, its one of the few tools besides the Hammer that's actually nice for what it is. Chisel seems wasteful for gems since you'll lose gp cutting them and the duplication only works for sapphire-dragonstone. at least i think sporadically strining a bow as you cut it is amazing.
like I said before I've newly returned to runescape, I've just got a slayer task to kill basilisks - I'm told I need to wear a crystal shield (or have a drop from treasure hunter) to fight them, however I don't have 70 defence or 50 agility. is there some way to veto this slayer task? I only have 5 slayer points as this is my 6th(maybe?) task so I can't do it that way as it costs 30 if not I'll just grind up my agility but it's a bit of a pain in the arse as I've been leveling my combat skills/alching drops while doing slayer in an attempt to kill a few birds with one stone
it's a mirror shield, not a crystal shield. why would you need a level 70 shield for a combat level 60 monster? someone rused you hardstyle buy one from any slayer master
working atm so didn't check, just heard that last night before logging off and posted here earlier to double check. sorry, thanks a lot though if I hadn't posted here I would've spent tonight leveling my agility for nothing
get 50 agility anyway it's nice to actually have run energy

i've got some more redundant questions sorry for shitting up the thread, i've noticed that most people here/on reddit/on twitch play osrs over rs3. personally i've been enjoying rs3 but i'm wondering if it's worth starting osrs and giving it a go? besides nostalgia is there anything that's objectively better in osrs? like what is it that makes you guys play one over the other?
i've got some more redundant questions sorry for shitting up the thread
It's alright; if you haven't noticed, I've been asking a ton of questions as well in this thread.
playing rs3 and osrs is up to personal preference. experiment with it and see if you like it more. the things objectively better about it, I'd say, are populated areas, less gear-power creep (as of now, remember that if they add new things, they'll eventually add in better gear) plus less reliance on eoc, since it doesn't have it at all.
Just realized that deaths from Tuska parasites are safe, you instantly bounce back with 100% health. Dat combat exp
So I guess I'll start an OSRS account, any tips on getting through the lower levels quicker than fighting those damn cows/goblins?
So I guess I'll start an OSRS account, any tips on getting through the lower levels quicker than fighting those damn cows/goblins?
im planning on doing slayer from the get go, change of scenery from cows and goblins
So I guess I'll start an OSRS account, any tips on getting through the lower levels quicker than fighting those damn cows/goblins?
do waterfall quest
So I guess I'll start an OSRS account, any tips on getting through the lower levels quicker than fighting those damn cows/goblins?
It took me like, 2 or 3 hours to get 20 att 20 str 20 def for f2p on cows. Save the hides and sell them at GE for decent starting money. The first couple levels suck because you're not really hitting much and it's really grindy. My suggestion, is to do what I did, focus on getting def up first, that means you'll need to carry less food with you. Once you get 20, start doing the quests, especially ones that grant xp in combat stats like d slayer. I'd be willing to show you the ropes as well as a way to make decent cash with 0 skilling stats.
waterfall quest -> merlin's crystal -> holy grail bam, you got like level 30 in attack, strength, defense, prayer, and excalibur to boot
im planning on doing slayer from the get go, change of scenery from cows and goblins
Doing slayer from the start is a bit tough since the enemies are harder than cows or rats or whatever, but definitely not a bad idea. If you need food, you can fish and cook your own food. A lot of people end up throwing away a lot of the first stuff they fish/cook until they get to lobsters, so you won't be wasteful and you'll kill two birds with one stone.
waterfall quest -> merlin's crystal -> holy grail bam, you got like level 30 in attack, strength, defense, prayer, and excalibur to boot
Witch's House & Fight Arena are great aswell. Giving pretty hefty XP rewards with few requirements.
If you want some money to start off with, you can do the Stronghold of Security.

Tried getting into OSRS, stopped within 5 mins. The lack of a lodestone network is so frustrating, I've gotten too used to it in RS3. :<
one of the first things you should do is get 45 magic so you have some handy teleports under your belt

I hate to say this but lodestones imo make the game wayyyyy too easy.
lodestones are bad for the game itself, but once you start using them, its really tough to go to non-lodestones.
