Those matches where the enemy just seems to get lucky angle after lucky angle. We play against some real piss-poor enemies that don't work well together (my friend and I do ranked doubles mainly), but they'll just so happen to hit the ball and it'll bounce off five walls before rolling smoothly into our goal. It's so frustrating when you're playing much better, but always end up having the ball defended from a goal, or just missing the goal (shit happens), for them to smack it haphazardly and watch in horror as it rolls slowly into your goal whilst you're too far away to stop it.
When it comes down to it, luck plays a very small factor in who wins. If the ball happens to go in, there were still the events that led up to that moment. Whiffs, hitting the ball wrong, and people being in the wrong positions all add up to the ball going in your goal

Try doing the all-star goalie training and 100%'ing it. It teaches you how to block ridiculous goals like off-the-wall ones.

This is a prime example of why you never bumrush the ball as a team. Wiiide open goal :v:
The most impressive goals are not aerials, but goals you have to dribble and juke around 3 or 4 players then sneak it in the goal. (imo)
Rocket League has stopped being fun and has become only about winning now, which makes losing feel awful. I'm close to just uninstalling it because of that now.
I tried 1vs1 for the first time.
In the first match I destroyed the opponent without even trying.
In the second match the opponent completely ruined me with me trying VERY HARD.
I quit after that, decided that it's good to stop back at 0.

So you're close to uninstalling because YOU'RE only playing to win and not fun?

Yes.
I used to play for fun, but now that I've gotten competent it's become only about winning. And I absolutely hate that. I think it's as terrible as you say, but I can't help it.

take a break, or just come to terms that you're playing a game based on football.

Hence uninstalling it
What's bad about playing to win? I play to win, and if I lose, I don't get mega-rage over it. I still have fun even if I get my ass handed to me, and it sometimes teaches me new things I never even thought of.
But losing 100 rank after 5 consecutive losses isn't fun

Go do something else or just perservere
But losing 100 rank after 5 consecutive losses isn't fun
See, you're not playing just to win, you're playing to get your rank number up. Just don't worry about it, if you're enjoying yourself you are bound to get more skilled, which will in turn bring up your rank. Just don't think of the numbers.

Some people really can't handle losses in competitive games, it's actually something I had to deal with when I was addicted to LoL.
I made myself stop caring because I wanted to play with my friends, It was easy for me but some of them weren't able to overcome it. Easier for some than others.

other issues in your life are probably causing you to feel this way about the competitive video game, but if it's just making you angry it's probably the best decision to stop playing
I don't mind losing when the teams are relatively even in skill, maybe even more skilled than myself. It makes for a good challenge, I love playing against players who can nail great aerials and dribble the ball around everyone else. Helps make me a better player. I do, however, get frustrated when someone (or multiple people) on my team are just outright horrible and losing the game for us. As in, hitting the ball the wrong way, putting it in our own goal, blocking the shots of teammates, etc. Then I don't feel like I'm losing because the other team is better, moreso because it's 2v5 instead of 3v3 or whatever.
