Rocket League - Rocket Feuled Demolition Derby Soccer! - Now with Hoops!

I'm really loving this game. My only major grievance at the moment is really just the lack of strategy and teamwork that a lot of other players display. I appreciate that the game has only been out for a short while, however it's really annoying to see five players milling about waiting for a high ball to drop down only for none of them to hit successfully on the first bounce. This usually results in me, having sat back a fair distance away, boosting through and knocking the ball towards the goal and potentially scoring with little to no resistance. I've also lost count of the times I've been driven into by a teammate just before hitting the ball. Of course this isn't everyone, and I am by no means an expert player, but I just hope that the general level of skill in public play rises a bit more before the game's popularity starts to wane.
You need to find some friends to play with.
I usually have to stay back and play defensive and watch my teammates endlessly chasing after the ball.
Also did anyone else catch camgears streaming the ESL tournament on twitch.tv last night, those guys are crazy good.
Is there a facepunch steam group for rocket league?

The only problem with MP, naturally, is that you either seem to get a team that will absolutely destroy everyone or you get put against a team that will absolutely destroy everyone. I haven't seen much middleground yet.
or you get put in a team where you have to single highhandedly carry the game on your own because no one else is putting work in.
holy shit this game kicks ass
I'm having a lot of fun with this. There's even a SP season mode. and ranked MP!
A bit of gameplay from my PS4

that setup at 0:44 was slick af
This game is tons of fun and I think I'm getting the hang of aerials. Hitting those into the goal is extremely satisfying, especially when you use boost. And I love how quick each game is. Makes it very easy to pick it up and play it for a few games at a time. I hope this takes off.
I just bought this game after seeing it mentioned on reddit. I haven't tried to play against actual people yet but against bots is incredibly fun.
Bots are better than most players. When someone quits in a game, the bot that replaces them is generally tons better than the player who quit.
Only until you hit pro, then you start seeing some ok players.
Bots can aim well, but they have zero situational awareness.
I'm only at semi-pro right now, but I still see players that aren't very good. And isn't Rookie/Semi-Pro/Pro basically determined by play time? You'll eventually gain enough experience to reach Pro.
Well yeah but those in Pro are usually better than bots. Obviously that's not always true but it's a good approximation.

I played the #1 in 3v3 the other day actually. He's a Veteran(I think rank 40+ ?) I was surprised how well I would keep up with his insane aerial goals. We still lost by 1-3 goals every game but I was happy with how many aerial goals I was able to save.
I wish I had the chance to play good players more often, it's so much more fun playing against someone good.

This is pretty mad
I need to learn to do those aerials. He was hitting balls from the ceiling into the goal.
Fucking Dana.

Do the all star aerial tutorial, it really helps.
I do hope Rocket League takes off as an e-sport. It has lots of potential for it.
I love playing really close games online, like holy shit. When you're sitting at overtime doing a 3 v 3 and everyone's co-operating the game gets really intense and fun, like more-so than competitive matches on CS:GO or something big like that.

Get some practice timing your double jumps/flips. You'll get a lot of insane hangtime if you space them out and use boosts.
Just got this game and played it until my hands were tingly and raw
Why the fuck does everyone hit the ball in the direction of their goal
So Hardlight Studios (The guys who formed after Zombie Studios shutdown) added some Rocket League promo items into Blacklight: Retribution.

They're on PS4 only currently and are getting added on the 22nd for PC.
This game is hilarious when you have a team of four. I was skeptical with the $20 price tag.
Now I'm getting frustrated because I'm actually trying to play but I'm always going against parties of 3 with my randoms, and I'm usually carrying the team. I just want to practice aerial shots.

$20? That's nothing for a game mate. People are so stingy when it comes to games nowadays.

I just don't have a lot of money to through around. Lots of student loans and other bills.
When I close my eyes, I can see myself playing Rocket League
Best $20 I've spent
Dead within a couple of months.
[sp]just take a look at the epic streamer game supraball[/sp]
Still fun though.
Sony is backing its longevity as part of the ps plus agreement. The devs are also planning to keep adding content and the concurrent player count is raising steadily every day.

Hell it's even kicked off some tournaments.
This game needs an Asia server. I've had multiple people on my team quit because of my 100+ ping. Or I just suck that bad. :(

Sounds like you just shouldn't be buying games in general. Not bitching about perfectly reasonable prices.
