Well I got quickly booted from top 10 but I've managed to consistently stay in the top 100s so far (mainly top 50s). I've already played with the team captain and one of the members from Kings of Urban as well as many other people I should probably know but don't lol. It's pretty cool getting to first-hand play with the celebrities of Rocket League I have to say. Feels very surreal
Just untick oceania?
If I would have unticked Oceana, I probably wouldn't have been able to find any games at all. But it's running great now, I actually find games a lot faster than I did pre-update.
I lost over 600 points in the reset, not Im struggling to gain any of it back. I got up to 1150 rank skill at one point, it reset me back to 700, then I lost like 4 games and down to 650. So frustrating how 100 hours of grinding to move up suddenly is gone. Doesn't help that I get matched with like 2 semi-pros on my team and 3 masters on the opposite. I guess it's my own fault, playing with randos is never good for your sanity
ranking is different now. I don't even think you can get over 1000 anymore. (correct me if im wrong)
This is incorrect. You need more than 1000 to achieve platinum.
This is insanity. I was at like 395 before the reset. I downed to 100. After multiple games with people of 250 ping, i went down to 90. Then you get people who dont want to ever defend or help. down to 80. Then you get people who go idle for half the game. Down to 70. Then you get people who just blindledly rush the ball even if its centered to hit it wherever. I'm at 65 and theres no fucking getting out of it because no matter what i do theres no fucking reasonable chance of anything reasonable happening
Everyone was put at the same division 1 rank after the reset. Even the top players got reset to 700. Sometimes you have to recognize your own mistakes and play to synergize with your teammates rather than hoping they synergize with you. Watch where they hit the ball and use that as a time to hit an aerial once it bounces. Or watch to see if they are actually centering the ball. Remember you are in literal new player ranks so you aren't going to have top tier players matched with you.
I'll wait this out, everything is currently far too unstable. 1v1 is very random right now, since I get sometimes put up against pros and sometimes against experts.

I really hate getting stuck in the hole as far as ranking goes. I like standard play, but don't have people to play with so I do solo standard to avoid good ass teams traveling in packs. The problem is, I'm in the lowest bracket and it's outright impossible to get out of it because the people I'm playing with are horrid. It's really moreso a game of luck as far as winning or losing, people are self-scoring and teammates are blocking my goals trying to steal them, it's a big shithole. I can't produce wins consistently enough to move out of the bracket, so I'm just boned and forced to play solo, doubles, or other gametypes I don't really care for. Also, casual playlists have gone to hell too. It used to try and match people up by level, which isn't an indicator of skill like ranking but at least indicates some amount of time spent playing, but now it just mixes and matches anyone. I'm being thrown in with rookies and whatnot, making it really boring to play because nobody knows how to pop the ball up to set up aerial shots, or much of anything really. I guess I'm just bitching and moaning, it just sucks because I really enjoy playing with skilled players and match evenly with them, yet I'm stuck with the bottom feeders because I can't move out of my bracket. I'm pretty decent I like to think, but not 1v3 decent. [editline]11th September 2015[/editline]
This is insanity. I was at like 395 before the reset. I downed to 100. Fucking sucks.
You have to play with friends if you get stuck that low, it just how it is. Also finally made it back to 700 in doubles, solo 3s, and standard 3s. 700 is the new 1000. now 1000 is platinum

Learning to control the ball and score on your own while also learning when to defend is key in winning while playing with random players. [editline]Edited: [/editline] Also my offer is still open to anyone who wants to play. Add me on Steam and just shoot me a message if you want.
What's with the sudden influx of Veteran- and Expert-rank players that kind of suck? Can you buy ranks now or something? I've played a bit after the Season-update and they don't even seem to jump that much, let alone even try to do aerials. And this is in both Ranked and Casual / Unranked.

It's interesting playing with people who have even made it all the way up to pro, hitting a nice aerial, and watching them start to experiment with aerials because they had no idea that was a thing.

Now people at my rank (Pro, 150) have started playing. It was like 100-150 where all the weird Veterans and Experts resided.
Does anyone understand the new ranking system? How come I tend to go up by 4 if I win a match, and go down by 12 if I lose one? Are you supposed to be expected to win more than 4/5 matches to move upwards?

Goes the other way for people with higher RP than you as well. The reason you get matched with people of a lower RP is because your MMR (match making rank score that is hidden now, which is actually used for pairing players, not RP) is the same as those people despite RP. So your RP is "trending" to equal out with your MMR. There was a post about it yesterday by Psyonix: http://steamcommunity.com/games/252950/announcements/detail/37508532788479483

I need teammates to stick around with to make some rankeds. Atm I'm going solo and I match with toxic players most of the time. I'm getting really tired of this.

I got boosted about 200 rank points? Did this happen to anyone else?
Yeah all my ranks reset to what it was at the beginning of season 1
They reseeded divisions recently based on MMR again AFAIK. At least that's the story I've heard.
oh yeeees 200 rank points for free in doubles
They reseeded divisions recently based on MMR again AFAIK. At least that's the story I've heard.
Why can't they just fix the system so that it makes sense I don't like the concept of some invisible points judging me
Why can't they just fix the system so that it makes sense I don't like the concept of some invisible points judging me
The invisible points are just the points that were visible pre-season. Them reseeding the MMR to your pre-season score were so RP placements were more accurate and made more sense. Also, it only did this for RP that was smaller than it should have been. So if you have improved beyond your pre-season MMR and your RP properly correlates, you shouldn't be affected. In other words, reseeding only brought players up. This makes it easier for the lower players who actually have a low MMR, because previously people that were supposed to be in II or III subdivisions were all jumbled into the I subdivisions.
