Football at its core, but similiar to the gameplay of Trackmania because you want to get better all the time, so it's very addicting.
Does anyone have any idea why I get a rubber-band like effect with 20ms ping? Its driving me insane. I don't have any programs running in the background except Steam. :(
Just got the game and it's fun but holy hell am I absolute trash at it. What camera do you guys use? Not tracking the ball gives me more control, but I also lose sight of the ball even with the little arrow. Or do you guys just switch between them?

I usually use ball cam for driving the ball and aerials, while I use ballcam for shooting it from the ground / low air.
I always use ball cam except for quick switches to car cam to get my bearings/see what's around me, and typically when I'm trying to line myself up with a boost pickup.
Ok good to know, I've mainly been using ball cam too
Got the streak achievement, didn't even know I was on a streak. Why is the wedge car so good.
if the ball is between you and the opposing net, go into normal cam to make your shot 10x easier to line up.
Got the streak achievement, didn't even know I was on a streak. Why is the wedge car so good.
Is there a difference between cars? I assumed they all performed the same
Is there a difference between cars? I assumed they all performed the same
There are very slight differences in the collision box of each car, but not enough to make any major difference.
Is there a difference between cars? I assumed they all performed the same
The only difference is the hitboxes of each car, they're not radically different but they are there.
Ball Cam 99% of the time.
I use Ball cam 99% of the time too, only times I switch away from it is if the ball is basically directly above me because it effectively makes me blind when the only things I see are the ball and the ceiling.
The only difference is the hitboxes of each car, they're not radically different but they are there.
The cars handle VERY differently in terms of turning radius, aerial sensitivity, and power-sliding and by VERY i mean once you play for a really long time and switch, you will notice and immediate difference
The cars handle VERY differently in terms of turning radius, aerial sensitivity, and power-sliding and by VERY i mean once you play for a really long time and switch, you will notice and immediate difference
Aye, for example: The van (forget its name) is way heavier than the gizmo.
Hey lads, i can't seem to find the date on when we're getting the Halloween accessories and the 2 new cars. Seen a PS4 release date, is that the same time?
The cars handle VERY differently in terms of turning radius, aerial sensitivity, and power-sliding and by VERY i mean once you play for a really long time and switch, you will notice and immediate difference
This. I was playing against two guys in vans yesterday and they couldn't figure out why I was so much more nimble than them. Kept telling them the turning radius is different, but they disagreed and thought all vehicles handle the same. I have yet to see a high level player using the van. It handles like shit.
Has anybody experienced anything where the ball warps around you? It rarely ever happens to me, i think its only happened about 3-4 times but i've been in games where ive seen someone go to hit the ball so they jump in the air and the ball is going straight for them, but then it kind of glitches and goes (through) around them awkwardly and continues bouncing. Probably some sort of latency issue but it does look glitchy. Its not caused any problems yet but i can see it being an issue if you were a goalie.
The cars handle VERY differently in terms of turning radius, aerial sensitivity, and power-sliding and by VERY i mean once you play for a really long time and switch, you will notice and immediate difference
the boost power is also different, sweet tooth will out boost pretty much anything at kick off for example.
the boost power is also different, sweet tooth will out boost pretty much anything at kick off for example.
I disagree with that. I manage to beat Sweet Tootth easily with Backfire at the beginning, as long as you flip forward after an initial boost to get speed, you'll get first touch every time (as long as you're even placement with the opponent)
the boost power is also different, sweet tooth will out boost pretty much anything at kick off for example.
This has been proven false. Someone on the rocket league forums did an analysis. Top speed, boost speed, and flying speed (as in, the speed you would accelerate if you pointed straight up and boosted) are the same across all cars. The differences lie in the turning radius, handbrake response (some powerslide, others corner sharply), hitboxes and rotation speed (technically the van flies at the same speed and whatnot as the others, it just rotates slower in mid-air so you don't have as good control). He also analyzed a kick-off win ratio based on the cars, probably has to do with hitboxes. "Heavier" cars with bigger front-end hitboxes are more likely to win a direct head-to-head kickoff if both cars hit at the same time. Getting to the ball first is all about timing boost and flips. The boost should run out at around the sonic boom speed, which is when you enter a front flip. I get first touch 9 times out of 10 now that I got the timing down.
I'm in flames. I'm on losing streak. And some dude on my team starts making own goals. Jesus Christ. Today is not my Rocket League day.

For 1.99$ it's ok I guess
I just don't like the fact everyone's gonna be driving in a DeLorean (it's an awesome car, who wouldn't wanna drive it).
I just don't like the fact everyone's gonna be driving in a DeLorean (it's an awesome car, who wouldn't wanna drive it).
No idea how it's going to handle though. If it doesn't handle/fly well, I won't be using it much. Also, I'm surprised I haven't seen any news on when the battle car update is coming.
What's the Battle Car update? Arena fights where you gotta blow each other up? That'd be so fun
What's the Battle Car update? Arena fights where you gotta blow each other up? That'd be so fun
Nah, it's the one they announced a while back. Called "Revenge of the Battle Cars" or something like that. It just introduces 2 cars from the previous rocket league-esque game the developers made in the past and more nighttime versions of maps. Though I think I remember seeing something about the new maps being the last regulation-style maps for a while, so maybe we can look forward to crazier maps with ramps and traps and shit.

I keep hoping there will be some sort of obstacles in maps. Like maybe 2 pillars in the middle on the sides and then a dip right in the center that youj can easily use to ramp up or have the ball do off bounces.
