I've seen teams of 3 join, then 2 leave, then the one guy beats you and you lose like 25 points and he gains like 30.

I kept getting 1-3 points LESS from each match, he got 9 I got 7 etc. No matter if I was better with 400 more points, or if I sucked shit with 0 points. I do not understand.

I do not understand.[/QUOTE] When I get over 900 points I start only getting 4-5 per match and lose 7-9 when I lose. The grind is REAL

So the other day my 2TB HDD died due to the PSU blowing up, and with that I lost my local game saves (levels, ranks, unlocks etc). Steam gave me a chance to save myself and I blew it by hitting upload instead of download on the Cloud Sync. :hammered:

I do not understand.[/QUOTE] cause the points are trying to get you into the right bracket. your mate with 300 points probs got you into ranked brackets around 200 or so. game detects you only have 80, and as a result, it only gives you a few points cause it doesn't wanna give you the normal amount and end up pitting you against real tough guys who are way out of your league IIRC that's how the points thing works. if you're in a bracket lower than you should be (based on your skill and ranking), it'll give you like 11 points or some shit. if you're in a bracket that's higher than you should be, it'll give you fewer points to keep you near that level til you GIT GUD [editline]27th October 2015[/editline] I remember how it'd make me rage when I go against enemies that are easy peasy and I demolish them and get rewarded with 10 points. then when I go against real hardass motherfuckers and I barely beat them, it gives me a limpdick 4 points or so same with when you lose matches. if you lose against much higher bracketed enemies, you lose a good few points. if you lose against scrub-tier dudes, you only lose a little.

Hockey looks like incredible amounts of fun, and the cube ball looks fun as shit too. Man, I'm hyped for this update. I hope they come out with unranked playlists for this stuff as well.

I was also thinking, I wouldn't be surprised if a playlist eventually comes around with a gamemode involving a tiny ass ball. I imagine the skills that would develop from playing with a car-sized ball would be pretty insane.

You know what would be kind of neat? Different map layouts and set-ups. I'm not talking about traps or ramps or anything, I'm talking about actually changing the layout of the playing field, having a 'V' shaped playing field would be super interesting, or just raising parts of the playing field creating overpasses as well as underpasses.

I have a friend I play with which makes things more tolerable. I also worked out a system, the only playlist I really care about is solo standard. I play normal standard just for fun, don't really care if I win or lose. It works out well because it means the skill level of the people I play with is relatively even and I get to enjoy myself. If I'm doing really well, I'll switch over to solo and play until I lose. I can't enjoy unranked standard because the general skill level is really, really bad. It gets boring really fast playing games with nothing but people chasing the ball.

I've got a good buddy of mine and we've just spent an hour grinding out about 100 points, from Gold II to Gold III. My voice is almost gone from all the shouting and screaming I've done. This fucking guy though, we both got RL around the same time and have grown together from scrubs to fuckin god-tier badasses. So many epic saves in the games we play and awesome teamplay, like centering and shooting, it's just such a good feeling. Even when one of us fucks up (usually me tbh) we don't mind and we're chill about it. Best fun you can have in this game is with a close friend imho. Playing with randoms in ranked is just a one-way ticket to rage quitting.

I don't mind playing with randoms, when I have a bad teammate I just look at it as Vegeta training.

Solo standard is much more fun because it's a lot more fair. Each time has an equal amount of team coordination. I'm never going to play ranked standard again unless I have a group of 3.
