I tend to have more fun in ranked because i hate the whole "Oh no, our enemies got one very lucky goal, i better leave because its an insta-lose" mindset. So you're there, stuck with a loop of different team mates of people that join, see the 0-1 score and then leave.
What makes this weird squeak sound?

Could be one of the Halloween accessories maybe? I know the candy corn boost makes a squeak sound, maybe pumpkin hat squeaks when you drift?

I've noticed that the higher your rank is (as in Veteran, Expert, Master, Legend or so) the higher the chance of ragequitting after the enemy makes a goal.
Rookies, Semi-Pros and Pros tend to stay until the end, no matter what. With Veterans the chance is very random, but then it gets super-high at Expert and up.

Yeah i can see that too.
I've had a Legend guy with his "mate" who was a Pro play me and it was about half way through and it was 2-2.
My teammate missed really easy shots and let 2 really easy goals in, but i was being calm and patient about it..... ish. But then i hit the ball randomly from my goal, it must have been rolling for a good 10 seconds, basically dribbled into the goal at 10kph and his teammate was going round the ball missing it about 3-4 times.
The shrill i heard from his mic was the funniest thing ever. Along with there "OMG, YOU'RE SO FUCKING USELESS [NAME]" And went off on a tangent, and then rage quit.
Funnily enough, his teammate played really well after he left and we only won after overtime. (didn't help that i had to save the ball twice from an own goal from my teammate)

It was actually drifting on glass that caused it, and that particular map has glass at the bottom of the goals.
Had some dude rage at me because I rammed him and demo'd him twice in one game
He full stopped mid-game to type out "rofl what a shitty"
We won
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My friend had a Master-rank player who just sat still and whined for the rest of the match after ONE goal bounced from one of their player into their goal. This was pretty much the first goal of the match that happened in the first 30 seconds. Ranked match, naturally.
I played with a "Legend" level dude who did that thing where they ragequit right before the game ends. I dunno why people would rather take a 15 minute penalty over having to look at the scoreboard again.
Maybe it's because he had 0's across the board. I don't know how people get to those levels and still play like absolute trash. I mean, I understand if they aren't aerial masters or whatever, but the guy didn't even know how to stop an everyday corner setup. Would just sit in the goal and watch, not moving until the ball got right in front of the goal.

I don't think this was ever fixed.

No matter how good you are, you still have shit games where you miss or just fuck up. Even top level players fuck up, even though at a far less rate.
Consistency is everything. I've been beaten by pro and veteran players, they just played really well that game I just wasn't in the right mind set.
Lack of sleep REALLY affects your skill, as well as the food you eat, caffeine, ect. It's like any other mentally and reaction based activity.
I've rage quit before, especially if it was going to be my last game anyways. It will cause my team to lose less points, anyways.

my friend and I just tried this and it didn't work, so I think it's been fixed :(

Today i came home from school completely wrecked, and was invited right into a ranked 2v2 match by a friend
Without thinking, i accepted the invite and we got properly wrecked because I didn't have any sort of reflexes or awareness

Never understood this logic. You can ram people because sometimes it's better to get them out of their way, especially with the goalkeeper. Same goes for demolition. It's possible, why shouldn't I use it?
Same with weapons in MP-Shooters.
I love demolishing the goalie and then having our team score while it's undefended
It's a satisfying feeling of teamwork
What's also satisfying is to score an aerial goal! I got my first aerial goal just now. Feels awesome.

Hey me too! 25 hours in and I have missed a million, then I scored two in one game. :v:

It sure does, never gets old either. I have over 1500 aerial hits and over a hundred goals now and each one is just as satisfying as the first.
level 46 after a week of grinding
[sp]from level 45[/sp]
An opponent got a break away last game I was in and was dribbling the ball right towards our goal so I thought "well that's like a guaranteed goal, I'll just make my way back to the hoops so it looked like I tried." Right before I reach the goal I turned away from the screen to talk to someone and heard the goal sound, followed by a lot of "Wow!" and "OMG!." I thought, it couldn't have been that good of a goal and watch the replay. What had happened was the other guy hit the ball and diverted the course away from the center of it to the side, where it bounced off the post and crossed parallel to the threshold of the goal while airborne, so it wouldn't have gone in. Instead, apparently when I turned away I had double jumped and hit the ball while it was airborne right into our net. Oops.
We still won in the end but that was my first and worst own goal in a long time.
Mutator update is live
also had a 30 minute game because of a giant-slow-speed ball match
was impossible NOT to make a save. Eventually it was just sort of shoved in.
Not a big fan of the beach ball mode, but the others are super cool. Pinball, time warp, and cubic are fucking bonkers.
Mutator is fun for all of an hour, then it's just stuff you've seen before and feels tedious. It's really whacky and hilariously funny when it's new, but then you realise saves are most of the time easy to make, or goal shots are impossible to pull off, so rounds drag on, overtime kicks in and you're stuck in a cycle that won't end.

My friend and I got super hype cause we thought it was the ice hockey gamemode but that's coming in December :(
Pinball is the best. Time warp is the worst. Moonball/beachball is funny but will always result in overtime haha.
From the update:
The turn radius on Venom, Paladin, Merc, Scarab, and Backfire has been improved.
Really glad they buffed the cars with bad drift.
I HAVE NO INTERNET :(
So i can't even bloody play this yet.
warning: if you play mutators it will fuck up your vanilla skills for awhile
I don't know, I played on boost refueling+low grav servers and it made me practice aerials more than i could ever do on a regular one.
warning: if you play mutators it will fuck up your vanilla skills for awhile
That's why I'm wary of playing more mutators
I've only played like 3 games and kinda already bored of it
I don't know, I played on boost refueling+low grav servers and it made me practice aerials more than i could ever do on a regular one.
how would that help you in vanilla though? I'm decent at aerial shots in ranked matches, but mutator aerials with low gravity were completely different. You have to compensate in opposite ways than normal gravity.
my friends and I were laughing during mutator cause we knew we'd be playing shit once we went back to vanilla. it fucks with your muscle memory (or whatever the gaming term is)
