it's a damn shame the cars are paid dlc, the ripper sounds fantastic.

Yeah but the dlcs aren't too costly and so far the devs are pretty cool so I want to support them.

One of the few games where I've happily bought every DLC that has come out. Only DLC I was unhappy with was the Back to the Future one.

I don't even use the cars I've got in the DLC but I just like.. having them. It's weird.

So I had a pretty fucking funny thing happen today. The team I was against had 2 AIs. I went for a shot on the goal, but there was an AI right in front that was in position to block it. RIGHT as the AI goes to block the shot, a player joins, the AI explodes, and the ball goes in. I didn't save a replay cause I didn't even think to for some reason but goddamn was it funny.

I would be fucking platinum by now if I didn't have random play sessions where I decided it would be a good idea to do ranked while blackout drunk.

Exploding AI has lost me so many games, especially when you get fuckers who join and instantly leave.

So I discovered just how broken matchmaking is today. I recently made it pretty well into Gold 1 in solo standard, but today lost tons points due to tons of losses. It just seemed like everyone I was being put into games with was really, really bad. Beyond "bad day" bad. Not the type you could carry either, but self-goal ruin every setup ram you out of the way of a save type. So in my last games, I would ask people what rank they were and got no-bullshit answers as low as Bronze 2 pretty consistently. What the flying fuck are people who are Bronze 2 doing playing with people in the high Silver, low Gold bracket? Wish I woulda known I could be buttfucked that hard [I]before[/I] losing 70 points today.

I was matched up against some really low rank people yesterday (semi-pro and pro) and obviously completely wrecked them. Something is odd with the matchmaking.

Not exactly a fault by the devs because the license doesn't allow them to make customizations but they could have at least notify people about it. Is the desert map going to be free for everyone?

1) i wish there were some way to filter out PS4 players on PC because i keep getting matched up with the absolute shittiest players in the world and they're all PS4 players 2) i REALLY wish there were some way to filter out joining games-in-progress because i'm so fucking sick of trying to play mutators and only getting to play 1 minute because the game decided i didn't want to play a full 5 minute game

It will *attempt* to keep you from being put in games with PS4 players. It's relatively successful, I only get the occasional console scrub here and there.

I keep getting to 500 rank points, then plummeting down to 300 from dipshit teammates.

Usually I am VERY thick skinned against toxic people online, a lot of the time even have a laugh with them, but this one guy I kept getting matched up with was being such a tool. Calling me a faggot and how I sucked and should kill myself every game even when he's on my team. Easy to ignore but he was getting like 7 goals per game so eventually it wasn't fun and I just left and took the 15 minute ban

A 15 minute ban means nothing if you're rage quitting anyways

So I bought Rocket League today from the Steam sale figuring if it didn't run on my laptop from 2009 I could just get a refund. It runs very smoothly! Very well optimized.

Jesus, those people who join ranked games and just constantly bitch about how they've lost so many games because of shitty teammates. It's always laughable, cause it's guaranteed they'll be the lowest on the scoreboard. They're too deluded to realise maybe it's not their teammates who are the issue, but themselves (#1 biggest bitching reason: "teammates take the ball when I have a good shot!!!"). Had one guy who just kept moaning in the game despite everyone telling him to shut the fuck up, he basically lost the game for his team cause instead of playing, he was typing.

I was just 1v1'ing a guy in Master rank (I'm Expert), and when the match started his ping spiked to ~500 and he was warping all over the place. So I stopped playing until his ping returned to normal :> He thanked me and then we had a great match.

I asked him what was up, but he didn't reply. We were fairly evenly matched, but then towards the end, he just left. He was 1 goal down with plenty of time on the clock. Was weird.

Sometimes you've just gotta be polite.

It's rare when it happens, but it's super nice when it does. We had someone abandon in 3v3, and the enemy team just kept pounding us with goals and refusing to skip goal cam. We told em to just wait it out in the middle so the round finished faster (it was impossible to score against a 3 man team, and we couldn't save every shot), but they ignored us. Another time, a guy had his partner disconnect in 2v2, so we waited it out in the middle at 2-1 (to us). Last 10 seconds, he tries to score on us like a scumbag, and we save it and score on him. The cheek!

Why would you wait it out? After the first person leaves, you can leave with no matchmaking penalty. If it happens before the 3 minute mark, you don't lose points if it ends up as a loss. If it's past that point, no use in sticking around and waiting it out, just leave, you'll lose the same amount of points but won't have to waste a few minutes.
