When to use free cam/ball cam?

Comes down to preference really. I use ball cam 90 percent of the time, only switching to free when hunting for boost and tight ball handling.

I just started playing yesterday, and I got my first arial score in an online 3v3 today. Fuck, this game is fun

60 hours in and this game is still a blast. I can tell I'm improving all the time but there are still a lot of things I suck at that there's no real way to get better at without playing matches where you don't get a chance to 're-wind' and try stuff again. I kind of wish there was a way to set up custom training modes so I could practice fiddly stuff offline before going into matches.

Me and my buddy have been having a nightmare of a week. All last week I was super busy with uni and couldn't play. Got really hyped for the weekend as we were gonna binge on RL and have a great time. Weekend rolls around, and we both end up being cursed with the ability to play like ass. Really, [I]really[/I] frustrating. Figured it was a one-off thing and that I'd get back to my usual slam-dunking self... But nope. It is now Tuesday and I am still playing just as badly as I was over the weekend. I fucking miss the days when I played like a beast and took it for granted. [editline]8th December 2015[/editline] Probs just stress from uni / sleep deprivation. Well, stress does take a major role in reflexes and perception. And sleep deprivation too. So yeah

This game is so. fucking. [I]fun.[/I] I've played it for like 5 hours or so, but it's the kind of game where you're in school or work or whatever and just keep thinking 'I can't wait to go home and play Rocket League'

What's you guys's favorite car designs? I like using Backfire with Skull decal, hot colors, Servergate wheels, Horns topper, Iron skull antenna and any fire afterburner to have a skull themed car.

The replayability of this game is awesome and the drive (pun intended) to get better keeps you coming back for more, especially when you're always seeing people who are [I]just that little bit better[/I] than you do moves you never even thought of, so you tell yourself "I'm going to learn that".

I've been using keyboard, and I would assume it is better than a controller because won't accidentally fudge up the direction while dodging, but after 7 hours playing yesterday, my left hand hadn't been that sore since hotline miami. I'll be getting a steam controller within the month, so I I'll try that, but I really like keyboard.

I find it so much easier to aerial with controller. I tried playing keyboard a few days back and it's so restrictive compared to the controller. I don't know how people play this game with a mouse and keyboard.

We get an hour long break, sometimes less, during the day and I just stroll down to the barracks and knock out a few games to relax for a bit. It's awesome.

It works natively, Rocket League recognizes it and shows correct button layouts without any of those programs that make Windows think it's an Xbox-controller.

I keep getting phases where i play like a total pro, almost Rocketeer worthy. Solo'ing games and shit getting 5-0. Then some random ass off times. I miss every shot thats thrown at me, go in goal and flip AWAY from the ball?! Bump into my team mate whos about to score..... Its so inconsistant with my skills!

It won't get better. If we AT FIRST win a lot, then start losing, we quit feeling frustrated if the next defeat would lower us below the points we had at the start of the session. If we win a lot, we play a bit more and quit feeling good. This is rare and I suspect the few times this happened were actually dreams.

So if I'm at 750, I'll tell myself I'll stop playing if I get to 735. That way, if I lose a few games right off the bat I know it's not a good time to be playing, but if I win a few and then lose all my progress, I know it really only put me 2-3 games in the hole overall.
