Rocket League - Rocket Feuled Demolition Derby Soccer! - Now with Hoops! - Games

I've seen M+KB players hang tough with controller players on the ground, but I've never seen one of them compete with controller aerials. Analog sticks provide a level of fine control when flying that just isn't possible on keys with simple on/off states. I'm sure you can get pretty damn good at flying with some practice, but the average player can pick up a controller and be flying everywhere in just a few hours of playing.

If you could map steering to the mouse movement axis then the mouse might be pretty accurate

I can't use a controller for this game, i don't know why, i just find it so much harder. It might be because i've played it for a good 25 levels of the game on keyboard and mouse and i'm used to it. I tried using my xbox controller a few times but im just shit Practice makes perfect i guess. ALTHOUGH, i find aerials a lot easier with a controller which is why im trying to play with it.

I used keyboard but then I got the Steam Controller and I'm now the god on the battlefield. I mean, now I score a lot and I found the game easier now with the controller. It feels more accurate.

Realized the footage I record looks like it was made with a potato because I had FRAPS recording at 1/2 resolution. So I threw all of the shit-tier quality footage together in a crappy montage. I tried streaming on twitch today, good thing nobody stopped by to view it because I was just constantly shitting the bed. I'm either on point or playing like a scrub, rarely in-between.

I've been missing 80% of my aerials this past week, but the 20% that go through are always fucking godly. Like 100kmh balls into the goal, or - my fav technique which I'm trying to nail - is hitting a ball as I drive perpendicular to it right into the goal, basically real sharp angles (I fully twist so my nose smacks it in, not the type of hit when I jump sideways into it). Sometimes the ball goes super fast during those, but a lot of the time it's like 50kmh only. Still tho, no one expects it so it's a guaranteed goal.

Running X360 controller, just started this today. You guys use the default config (handbrake on X, jump on A, boost on B, ball cam on Y) or do you have these functions more readily available to your fingers? Also I have a really hard time getting those aerial hits, guess I just need more practice. Fun game but god damn I am getting schooled sometimes.

I'm running the default controls, however I have heard that it may be better to bind the handbrake/roll button to R1 or L1. (cause then you can use it easiler while boosting) [editline]13th December 2015[/editline] In other news, I finally reached Gold 2 in 2v2.

Those are the only thing I changed.

I like being able to air roll while boosting because it's fun to go inverted before hitting the ball and then say, "BECAUSE I WAS INVERTED," in chat. People get the Top Gun reference every once in a while.

I played shit all weekend. Was at 500 ranked points. Im now back to 380. I don't know whats up with me, i missed loads of shots, kept doing skew-wiff passes. Missed easy balls when i was in goal. I even had breaks in between playing unranked to get myself back to normal. WHATS HAPPENED?!

The new hockey mode is pretty fun, it plays different enough and isn't annoying like the mutators. Might as well be a different game though, very little from vanilla carries over.

Slowly starting to get the hang of this game, getting ok ball control now and I've been getting some good aerial hits. Do the different cars behave differently or am I imagining it? Anyway I like this game. Clean and simple gameplay where skill can truly shine like the old arena shooters.

Fucking love the new hockey game, i wish it was ranked, even just for the winter season. I find it so much more fun. Although the goals need sorting out because the puck can easily just slide into the goal from the side without anyone guiding it.

Can't wait to play it when I get home
