Hockey further cements this as my GOTY, honestly the most fun I've had in RL to date
can confirm hockey is hilarious and fun
can confirm hockey is hilarious and fun
Agreed. It also produces some pretty neat moments, good aerial training since you gotta be pretty precise when gunning for the edge of the puck. Got a couple of good clips in a little weekly montage thing I'm trying to do.
great vid but that background music really reminds me of a low-budget porno movie
Exactly what I was going for.
tfw u make a sick shot but it's early in the game so you forget to save the replay
tfw u make a sick shot but it's early in the game so you forget to save the replay
That's why I started making a habit of opening up FRAPS before I play. If I pull off a dope shot, I'll mash the F9 button before the replay starts. I only save replays if it's something I want a better angle on, or I want to record saves.
Shadowplay works pretty well for that too... when Nvidia Experience does't shit itself. [vid]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7939899/Images/gifs/Rocket%20League/Rocket%20League%2017.DEC.2015%20-%2022.55.26.05.DVR.webm[/vid] :ohno:
How do you make your webms? I tried making one once but I couldn't get it to work here on facepunch.
Save clip with Shadowplay, edit the file with WebM Converter My settings are usually: 800 x -1 for resolution. -1 means it scales the aspect ratio with the other input number. 7000-10000kb/s Bitrate High Quality Mode checked (I haven't actually tested to see the difference this makes) And Audio on.
[vid]http://webm.host/0e7a7/vid.webm[/vid] Testing. Has anyone else noticed this ayyy lmao ufo bullshit the puck pulls when it slides to the roof?
yeah hahahaha it just fucking stays sucked to the ceiling
yeah hahahaha it just fucking stays sucked to the ceiling
Well that's the strange thing, it doesn't really get stuck to the roof. It separates from the roof normally, just falls extremely, extremely slow for a while. I was looking at it in replays and it makes very little sense why something like that would happen. Maybe it has some kind of mechanic attached that makes it get sucked into surfaces, sorta a way of keeping it sliding around, and it has a hard time breaking that threshold when on the roof or something. No idea. Pretty sure it confirms the existence of aliens.
I've seen the puck get hit slowly up the wall and seen it stick the entire way to the other side of the map, it's weird as hell and caused me and my friend to burst out laughing
My first game the puck got literally stuck on the ceiling. One of us had to boost up to nudge it. Basically it just went up the wall really slowly and just pulled to a halt near-ish to the middle. We tried boosting round the course but it was too far in. So somebody just boosted directly up towards it and gave it a tap which made it fall down.
What FOV/camera settings do you guys use?
All default with the exception of FOV, which is at max (120 I think).
What FOV/camera settings do you guys use?
FOV at max, camera somewhat lower than default. (makes it easier for me to aim aerials)
I had my best game earlier. We were losing 5 to 1, and I scored 3 goals on people way higher rank than me. I got my first aerial goal, as well as a sick pass to myself off the crossbar, and another pass to myself off the side and then backflipping the ball in before they could get it away from me. We ended up losing at 6 to 5 when they scored with 14 seconds left, but it's still the highlight of my time played so far.
What FOV/camera settings do you guys use?
FOV at max, no other camera settings touched.
I don't know how but I didn't even realize there were camera options. Raising my FOV and slightly lowering the camera has REALLY helped me play this game holy shit.
set FOV to 40 and camera distance to 500, trust me I'm platinum 2v2 (please don't listen to me)
In the biggest rank point upset of all time, I have lost over 200 combined points in all modes over the last 3 days. (940 to 810 in standard 3s being the worst) Now there could be many factors in this: 1. Being holiday inebriated most of the time 2. Having a team member who has never played before, reassuring him that i will "carry" him 3. Shit talking while the kickoff happens and missing the ball 4. General gross, flagrant, lack of ball hitting skill. [editline]23rd December 2015[/editline] Paul Simon where are you, carry me back to the promised land [editline]23rd December 2015[/editline] Also what DOES help me in this game is having an ultra wide monitor I can see a full 180 degrees, so I can see myself lose from sideways
I've been right here all damn year, just fling be an invite and I'll be there.
my gf loves rocket league and she's really good at it

Hard to judge skill from snow day, most people are just fucking around and the puck does whatever it damn well pleases.
I am the best at rocket league on FP and if you disagree fite me 1v1 Also happy holidays rocket FPers. Hopefully we get some new players!!

When the ball goes behind you really fast, do you guys take the time to turn around or do you just flip into reverse and use backflips for speed? Personally I go into reverse and use backflips because it is faster than taking the time to turn around, especially if I have no boost, but one of my friends chastises me every time saying I should have turned around instead, even if turning around would have taken up too much time and they would have scored already anyway.
