Losing points made me more motivated to win more. I miss the old system. I really dislike some weird phantom bullshit qualifying me for weird shit I know nothing about.
I'm kinda pissed because of most of my team mates I find in Competitive. They both go to the ball together all the time and then there's nobody to receive the ball and score and be at the net at the very same time.
What's better? 3v3 or 2v2?
either party with someone and do 2/3s or play solo duel / solo standard, no sense in playing solo in the others
But I have nobody to play with
:(
Who thought it was a good idea to remove the rank progress bars
Jesus christ

Meh, lots of people 3v3 standard solo. You can occasionally get good team chemistry and heated lobbies

what's the point when there's a 3's mode designed for solo play? I don't get why you'd ever purposely put yourself against a premade if you don't have to.

I don't think premades matter much to be honest, if you have 3 good players you have 3 good players, in my experience there's not much info to be relayed over teamspeak that can't be relayed over the standard preset messages which are very easily accessible anyway

Most 3v3 lobbies I join consists of solo players who just come and go each game. I don't think much communication is needed to get some good play going, you see it all the time in standard

it's a hell of a lot easier to keep constant talk up with your teammate and tell them when you're challenging and when you're falling back, especially considering situations can change real fucking quick.
Beats "I got it!" and "Centering" by a mile. It's not specific enough for me. When you say centering, do you mean you're pushing it to center you you're driving down the center to take a goal shot? Etc etc. My teammate and I will actually argue over Skype when we both think we have a good shot, and one of us will back down as a result. Goodluck doing that over "I got it!", "I got it!", "I got it!", "I got it!", "@$^%!"
I'm at the point in my rocket league life where every aerial goal gets a wow/nice shot spam from me. Shame no one else that game said anything

I habitually pressed my right mouse button after seeing partway through the replay.
It was a good aerial though.

The sounds are different each time, this was the most plain sound
So Valve added rumble emulation to the Steam Controller and it had an "8-bit" mode
I tested it out with Rocket League
If you want to annoy your family or your friends, get the steam controller and use 8-bit mode
Assholes who are really high ranked that team with low ranking players are scum. In Season 1, the amount of 1100+ ranked players we'd see with 700 ranked players was unbelievable. Then when you beat them, you only win around 8 or 9 points for a really really tough game (if you're 1000 ranked yourself), but if you lose, you lose 12 or 13.
Such a scummy tactic to help boost a lowbie friend up the ranks.
Just went 2v2 against a Grand Champion (or whatever the highest is) and a Prospect 3 (I'm a Superstar or whatever the highest blue one is) and we beat them twice in a row.

or maybe they just want to play with their friends...?
or maybe they just want to play with their friends...?
nah man it's never that, cause they always trash talk super hard at the end of the round, and the lowbie is always saying shit like "haha wow thanks for the 15 points, you suck" even though he had one shot on goal the entire game and 120 points.
I play with my low ranked friends because I want to play with my friends.
I've been starting to have this problem when playing with friends:
We either get completely destroyed or we completely destroy the opposing team. Very, VERY few good games come out of competitive or casual.
It's kind of tough to learn any new shit when you either win by driving towards their goal and hitting the ball (not always necessary) or when you watch the enemy team or the ball never hit the ground. I'm an expert-rank now but I still absolutely suck at aerial things outside the training.

dunno how you'd enjoy playing ranked matches with a friend who is much lower than you. you just end up having to carry and it's no fun, just stressful.
much better when you play with a friend on the same level as yourself.

if I wanna play with a low ranked friend, I play unranked, cause it's more fun for the both of us and we don't have to stress about losing or whatever.

Doesn't stress me at all, the matches are more or less the same difficulty as usual.
I see it as an opportunity for my friend to learn, and for us to have fun.
Got Rocket League yesterday to play with my brothers. It's so addictive holy shit. Best appeal for me is that the matches are so short so you don't really have time to develop hatred for eachother compared to games like MOBAs.
5 minutes is enough for me to get upset. I find myself raging at this game more than at others for some reason. I never take it into chat, I just yell at the screen and no one ever knows. But between ball chasers, lucky 130 km/h kickoff goals the enemy gets in overtime and losing immediately after going up a division, thus going back down, it's hard...
At this stage the only person I can rage at is myself. It's easy to spot when I'm making mistakes and doing stupid things.
Well yeah, considering I'm barely good enough for prospect elite, I'm bad as well. I missed many easy goals and lost many games, too. Game is hard.

anyone who plays better than me is a smurf, in my mind
OK.
So for anybody thats trying to learn how to play with controllers after playing with mouse and keyboard for many hours and struggles to make the switch....
I found the perfect thing to do.
Don't play rocket league for a week. Then when you come back on, play with the controller.
For some reason, i did this and holy shit, im so much better now with a controller. Its like i've forgot how i manoeuvre with mouse and keyboard and rewritten it in my mind how to play with controller.
