Played some hoops with my roommate. We ended one game 16 - 0 against a team we lost 3 - 6 the previous game.

It's easier to move up/down now as far as I can tell. Don't have to win a fuckton of games to bump up a division, I move up nearly every other game. Moving down is just as quick. Feels like a decent mix between the first season's constant ranking battle and the previous season's attempt at locking people into skill level groups until they improve. I jumped from Prospect I or II to Challenger II in maybe an hour of playing.
I thought I was good at this game until yesterday when I played against these two:

apparently Scrub Killa is a 13 year old child prodigy that makes even Kronovi's bones rattle in fear.

Paul Simon, every ESL champ or season champ I've played against has done the same exact shit: they just spam compliments and suck each other off the entire round
it's kinda sad seeing as the people they end up facing are utter shit compared to their skill level

btw I think it's utter bullshit how the DLC cars aren't available to us. how do you even get the collector's edition? I've had this game since release and bought all DLC (apart from the NBA one) and it's kinda shitty that they've barred paying customers from getting the DLC.

I hope the excitement over the new comments thing dies down eventually. It doesn't upset me in the vein of trash talk or anything like that, but people spamming "Calculated." or whatever after scoring basic scrub goals just gets annoying. I wish there was a way to turn off quick chat for everything except the "Informative" tier ones. It gets really distracting having shit pop off at the top corner of my screen non-stop because people just figured out how to use a D-pad.

Yeah, I think people who bought it back near when it came out should have been auto-upgraded to collectors editions as far as how they're treated with DLC.

The new DLC stuff is just time limited until mid next month, you'll get to spend your money shortly.
The whole map's that aren't like the standard is the direction the games going in, it's what they did with SARPBC and I guess they want to repeat that here.

when your average scrub is doing it it's no biggie, but when Champs are doing it (who are better than 99% of the playerbase) it just comes across as arrogant and shitty. especially when they properly [I]spam[/I] it, like nonstop for every move they do.

I'm really, really bad on the Neotokyo map. when it shows up in ranked 2v2, I just play defensively and let my friend pull off all the sick aerials, or I'll do my best to center as many balls for him as possible. he loves the map and totally kicks ass in it, but I just get confused with all the weird bounce angles and everything

I don't think we're on the same page. you're talking about the occasional "Nice shot! Great Pass! Wow! Wow! Siick!" after a goal. I'm talking about the people who spam compliments after every ball touch. it's annoying whether it's Mr Scrub or Mr Champ, but even moreso when it's someone who's clearly way out of your league who you haven't got a chance against. it's less funny, more "rub your nose in it".

gotta say I'm loving the new season a lot. it's way better than last season. I've noticed I'm not getting stuck in one rank unable to move up. it feels much fairer. the guys I'm up against are really challenging, but they're around the same skill level as me and my buddy, so losing doesn't suck, and winning feels really rewarding. last season we kept getting matched against guys who were just impossible to beat.
They did indeed spam it every second of the match, but they're just having a fun time so it doesn't bother me.

can't wait for this to be fixed, it's unplayable with my playstyle right now
I've played against a few Season 2 grand champs so far and not many of them were very impressive, at least not grand champ impressive. I have a feeling like a chunk might have been platinum tier players in Season 1, put in that bracket after the first 10 games of 2 (since it took into account your previous MMR unlike this season) maybe won a few to get grand champ and then never played that playlist again to avoid losing it.
I dunno. But I only got as high as rising star in Season 2, I'm decent but not absolutely amazing, and I've shit all over some grand champs already.

not gonna lie, these guys weren't phenomenal. I've been shit all over by season champs who were way better. that being said, they were still tough, and were doing the typical champ style shots where they were managing to snipe goals from all sorts of crazy angles. we basically won because we got away with two sketchy goals that they fluffed up on saving, and then just played defensively the rest of the game.
