We got matched against 3 people who were way, WAY over our skill level and forfeited after 5 goals in the first minute. Competitive, naturally. Next match is the same 3 people, we got owned again. :frown: WOO! Prospect elite, I'm here to stay!
After bullshit matchmaking like that, don't requeue instantly. I've had that happen to me so many times, so if I'm matched against people who wreck my shit, I wait a min or so until they leave the post-game menu and then I queue up. Means I'm not matched with them again.
RLCS is on now https://www.twitch.tv/rocketleague
God damn, that Moses guy from Exodus is insane in defense. Blocked so many good shots on goal. Bit disappointed in how Paschy played, usually he's way better
this ibp f3 game is great
Still can't believe that last flipsid3 vs iBP match. Flipsid3's defense just completely disintegrated those last 15 seconds or something

Grand final on now. Didn't expect ibp to get this far at the beginning of the lan but they have been great really. Also didn't expect flipside to end up going through lower bracket but they have been great apart from that first game against ibp. Not sure if I can call this one. :v: Edit: also I think f3 need to win two bo7s to actually win as they came from the losers bracket. Gonna be tough then.
Maybe it's because i'm playing in a lower skill level, but I feel like i'd enjoy 1v1 way more if there was some sort of goal protection or shield for the first few seconds after kick-offs. I really enjoy the actual 1v1 gameplay, but the average time between goals is like 10 seconds because it's really easy to score a goal on the kickoff if one of the two gets hit slightly into the air or to the side, or if a ball bounces in a particular way off the wall. Really ruins some of the flow for me.
This is preventable. Always look over the ball to see how the opponent is attacking the ball, then counter him appropriately.
How do you counter if the opponent is just driving straight to the ball, no angles or whatever?
How do you counter if the opponent is just driving straight to the ball, no angles or whatever?
Prevent him from bouncing the thing over you. It's always kind of hard to know whether or not he's gonna jump at the last second, but a good rule of thumb is to always be slightly higher up than he is which will cause the ball to fly in his direction. But don't be too far up either - this will cause the ball to go under you. (and possibly launch you far into the air) As you can see in this masterful illustration, the ball will have an easier time going towards the goal of the opponent as long as you're somewhat higher up than he is. Just as you hit the ball, you can do a frontflip for extra kick. (needs good timing)

I've still had a few times where I countered the kick-off and the ball still somehow bounced towards my goal. Goddamn infuriating :v:
i'm.. i'm sorry..?
well at least he lived up to his name
I keep playing ranked 1v1 and every match is me either destroying the other player or me getting destroyed. Maybe it's just one of those playlists I should give up on as I have a lot more fun in 2v2/3v3 anyway.
Played in a match with two guys with weed based names. I think they missed the ball 80% of the time. I thought weed was supposed to make you good at games?

-oops wrong thread-
The thing I like about matchmaking in this game is that you can still report people who have left the game. Not even CSGO has this. In CSGO you are not able to report a player for griefing after they left prematurely.
I don't think the reporting has any other purpose than statistical ones though, so it's pretty much pointless.
What? Oh man. So it's pretty much alright to do griefing and shittalking as you don't face any consequences?
We don't know either way, it's not like people who get banned from games go boasting about it.
We don't know either way, it's not like people who get banned from games go boasting about it.
But they sure complain about it, which is very evident in the Rust subforum. I've NEVER heard of anyone getting banned in Rocket League.

That Rumble mode looks really goddamn fun. And they seem to be implementing the crate system pretty well.

Maybe i'm just a whiney bitch but man ramming in 1v1 is shit. In 2v2 or higher it's like yeah whatever but a slight touch in 1v1 can give you an effortless goal
