Too abusable with a second/third account. Just have the unneeded account leave and you'll never lose MMR in a game again. They should do it like they did back in Season 1 with a slight adjustment: if you leave after your teammate leaves you lose no points but if you stay and lose you'll lose 1/3 of what you would have initially lost in a full match. However, if you win 1v2 you get double the points you would have originally earned. Obviously the leave and lose no points would have to end after something like the first minute to prevent people leaving at the last second and never losing MMR (same problem as the original suggestion).
I'm talking strictly random pub teammates, not ones that you're partied with. I'd like to play competitive doubles outside of just with a friend but it's kind of a shit deal when a player immediately leaves or starts off AFK and then just gets kicked. Doesn't happen all the time but it's pretty fucking annoying when it does
If your rando teammate leaves at the start of competitive doubles it really shouldn't affect your MM standing when you lose, not like it's representative of your skill if you can't beat two players on your own
I could be wrong, but in previous seasons if your teammate left before 2-3 minutes into the game, you can also leave before that point without any kind of penalty.
Spend 4 matches winning and ranking up. Get downranked after one loss. FML

The thing I hate about trading in games like CSGO and Rocket League is that pretty much every trader acts like a smug fuckhead and I always feel like an idiot for not keeping up with the values of items.

I was called a "fucking noob" for being the goalkeeper by the enemy team. In competitive. One of their players did nothing but trying to ram me all the time. He didn't even play for his team, he was busy all the time with ramming me. Sadly, we lost due to a beginner mistake by one of my friends who is new to the game.

To be fair, stationing yourself as a "goalie" for a long period of time tends to be something beginners do. It isn't a very viable strategy in higher level play, you need a constant rotation of all three players in order to keep pressure on the opposition's goal. The player playing back waiting to rotate in typically sits around midfield, maybe slightly further back depending on the way things are looking. Sitting in the goal completely takes you out of the game, shot opportunities don't stick around long enough in high level play for you to get all the way down the field before it's cleared. Nothing is more aggravating than someone who sits in the goal the entire game and then shits the bed by missing an important save. One thing is for sure, if you're gonna be a "goalie," you better fuckin' stop every shot that comes your way, otherwise you've just been forcing your teammates to play 2v3.
In fact, I'm exactly the kind of goalie that you described. It's just that I do solo queuing 3vs3 all the time and no one bothers to protect the goal in any way. It becomes apparent when the ball is about to be touched and everybody wants to get the ball, even the one closest to the goal. I've seen it WAY too many times that even the one closest to the goal wants to touch it or even goes to get boost in the first place and out of a fluke in the middle, the ball gets shot into our goal with no goalkeeper to be seen. It's a 0:1 in a matter of 3 seconds... It also happens very often that when everybody is up in the front the ball can be hit back in a very quick manner and then of course the enemy hits a goal, since no one was behind to stop the ball. It kinda forced me to such a playstyle since no one else would do it. I'm a good overall player but my strengths have been being the goalkeeper because other people just didn't want to do any goalkeeping, ever. It did help me with my skills, since my flying skills got boosted a lot from training and such matches and gave me the needed skills to score enemy goals rather well.
Be careful with playing like that though, you will develop bad habits that'll screw you over once you get to higher level play. I know what low ranked play is like, I'm in the blue range right now for doubles and standard, but have dipped down to as low as Challenger II in solo standard because of my ability to get matched up with baddies consistently in that playlist. However, use it as good practice on becoming a dynamic player. Being a good goalie isn't about being in the goal all the time, it's about reading the ball and knowing when one of those big pinches or lucky shots are coming. It's about setting up a traditional pass on the wall, and instead of trying to follow it up like a hero, pulling around and gunning for your goal because you see a dude in their goal ready to punt it all the way across the field. Practice more on reading the opposing team/your teammates. Most people get tunnel vision and just look at the ball all the time, look at the cars instead. You'll find that as you get a better understanding of how people are hitting the ball and what is going to happen, you don't need to sit in the goal anymore because you naturally know you can make a save from midfield if you have to. All-star goalie training has shots when you're trying to beat the ball to the goal for a reason. A lot of saves in high level play look like that.
A rocket league documentary.
Good video. I've read about most of this already, but it's presented nicely. I look forward to part 2.
Anybody in the challenger elite rising star rank area wanna do some dubs sometime?

[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/69387792/super_champ.jpg[/t] Just hit super champion, and grinding to grand champion has been eye opening in how "consistency" separates the good players from the bad, especially at the higher tiers. If you put a champion / super champion next to a grand champion then the most defining factor would absolutely be consistency. Grand champions may be slightly faster, but if you're more consistent than they are, you'll always beat them regardless of their speed.
Champion Div5 is the farthest I've gotten ;_;
Champion Div5 is the farthest I've gotten ;_;
I hate to sound like a broken record player, but its all about consistency. I was superstar div 3 literally a couple days ago on the hardest tilt I've had in awhile. Then I just started absolutely making sure I never whiffed and that my shots would always be on target with the enemy net. I also found that focusing on improving my clears was insanely helpful. I started doing all of that though, and put it to practice in unranked. Went undefeated for about seven games in a row before I switched to ranked. Shot up to Champ div 3 and just made it to SC div 1 as you saw in the picture. I haven't changed my playstyle at all, it's just a matter of making sure my playstyle doesn't hinder my teammate in any way
Anyone at such high rank is using only keyboard/mice ?
Champion Div5 is the farthest I've gotten ;_;
Challenger 3 here. I have had a win-lose-win-lose-win-lose-win-lose streak for the past 30 matches in 3vs3 solo...
Then I just started absolutely making sure I never whiffed and that my shots would always be on target with the enemy net.
How exactly?
How exactly?
More focus and tactical control, less wildly flying at the ball. Proper rotation with your team member(s) is a must too. That said, I'm not the best at this myself. [editline]6th November 2016[/editline] [vid]http://puu.sh/s8Dk9.webm[/vid]
Any of the new cars that were released by themselves worth getting? [editline]8th November 2016[/editline] Meh, just bought marauder, aftershock and proteus.
I really hope the season ends soon.. I kind of want to try to get to Grand Champion but I know it's going to be hard as shit (I'm champion div1). But some games I play against Super champions and beat them and that really gives me motivation that I could be higher.. Well, I guess I just try my best and wait for Psyonix's announcement about season rewards/season 4. Anyways, here is a really close OT goal I did a couple of days ago, hope you guys like it! I hate teammates like that.
Yesss I think I might be playing at a much higher level in unranked.
I've just seen this on the rl reddit thread and damn, that's absolutely amazing!
Yesss I think I might be playing at a much higher level in unranked.
I'm almost positive unranked is determined by level and not skill rating. I've played with challengersin unranked when I'm super champ who I looked up because I was curious about the same thing
I've just seen this on the rl reddit thread and damn, that's absolutely amazing!
That's pretty god damn cool. I was just thinking the other day about how useful something like this would be. RLTrainer is good and all but it's always a static position you start from and doesn't help you learn to adapt to different situations.
