That was a really good final. I think when you get 2 really good teams against each other there are less 'amazing' moments but you can appreciate what they are trying to do. kuxir confirmed as my favourite EU player. Congrats to flipside, they came from the lower bracket as well which makes it more impressive.

I just hope that the new map doesn't get my fps any lower. Performance inconsistencies have been going on since wasteland, and it's really rough for me, since I play on my low end laptop. Other maps are fine, but wasteland and aquadome can get really shitty (~30fps).

Is there a way to change how the ball bounces? The way it bounces so light to it's size makes no goddamn sense and I can't figure out at all how to hit it properly.

Just keep trying, you'll eventually get the hang for it. As a player, you'll go from waiting for the ball to bounce first and then going for it, to knowing how it will bounce and going for it, to knowing where it will be in 2-3 bounces before the opponent even strikes it. It's weird because when I'm actively thinking about it, like in training modes, I'm terrible at hitting the ball. But during real games, I can anticipate where the ball will be many seconds in the future instinctively. It's taken 650 hours to get to that point, though. Dunno what the deal is, but after the update today I got a lot of games with people ragequitting very early on. Maybe it's just coincidence, but it was really strange. One guy ragequitted while we were winning by quite a bit because nobody caught his pass. Then we scored another goal and guys on the other team started quitting. Never trying out competitive immediately after a new map/car update though. Everyone was way too excited and ball chased like crazy, it was the worst I've ever seen.

I fucking hate crates. For reaaaaaal, every god damn item I get is either that Dominus Snakeskin one, or the Pollo Loco fucking chicken. I got a Champion Crate IV and got a SHITTY GIZMO SKIN. WHO EVEN PLAYS GIZMO?! Honestly, taking threads advice and am just gonna buy the items I want with keys instead. This is god damn ridiculous.

I don't know what happened but suddenly I'm being queued with people that don't seem to have any idea what they're doing. I went through all of the provisional matches without losing, got placed into Challenger Elite 2 or 3, Won a large majority of the matches to get to Rising Star 5, and now somehow I've been consistently paired with the most ball-chasing, teammate ramming people I have ever seen, and have dropped all the way back down the Challenger Elite 1. I will admit that I'm not amazing at the game. I still whiff shots or blocks, or I fuck up aerials and launch them in the wrong direction (not catastrophically wrong but you get the point), but I don't think I am at the point where my teammates don't know what rotation is, constantly chase the ball, or will go up for aerial defenses when you're already 3/4ths the distance from the ground to the ball, crash into you in the air, and leave the net open. I have no idea how I went from decent teammates during the provisionals and ranking up to what I'm currently getting, but it is not fun at all.

I took like a month off for Rocket League but I had to reinstall it for this update. I made a few training things if anyone wants to try them, wouldn't mind some feedback on them for any more I make in the future. Striker: 714F-93D1-22A9-0641 Goalie: D538-8DFE-4F84-7226 Some of the shots/saves are a bit ridiculous, some are easy, but I didn't keep any that I didn't make at least a few times. I have to say this is a great update for RL. I've always said to friends that competitive games need some kind of support for training your mechanics (for example CS:GO has bhop maps, aim,spray practice maps etc), so the ability to officially make and share training regimes and maps is going to help everyone in this game really. I pretty much took the month off because I was getting increasingly salty (with myself mostly for being dumb at times) but I think I'll definitely be spending hours away practicing shots, redirects, saves etc and actually making a decent effort to get better instead of just playing ranked and hoping for the best. If anyone in EU is challengery-rising star level wants to queue I'd be down for that, we should get some stuff going on the discord as well (I'm merp on there).
