From their point of view they can't know if you were scammed or were just dumb, if they reversed your trade that would set a precedent for anyone who gets ripped off in any way to just request a trade reversal. This is the same in any game, you trade entirely at your own risk and you can't expect devs to give you your stuff back if it goes wrong for you.

You were unable to properly review the trade before accepting it - That's not their fault.

Apparently this method of scamming has been going on from the very beginning and psyonix has refused to do anything about it. Has psynoix done anything to address this type of scam?? No. Also, RL has the shoddiest in game trading system I've ever seen. Coming from other games with better trading systems it didn't even cross my mind that he could have removed the BM decal when it was out of view. When i have chat logs of the other person agreeing to 10 keys for a parallax skin and receiving only random garbage in return that's barely worth 1.5 keys and then the other person in the party openly admitting and bragging about it being a scam, then it IS an open and shut case. Even Valve which is notorious for poor and slow customer service took prompt and decisive action against trade fraud and these ranged from reversing trades to permanently banning the scammers from trading or accessing the marketplace, or receiving any more item drops, to issuing duplicate items to the people that had been scammed if the scammed items had traded hands multiple times by the time they got to the case. And trading in valve games is a lot more secure than in Rocket League because the windows on each side expand as more items are added (no scroll bar), both parties have to declare they're ready and then click on trade (2 steps instead of just 1). They only stopped enforcing trades after implementing the 2 step authentication solution through the mobile app and the mobile app lists all the items being sent and received one more time (so 3 confirmations). This is in stark contrast to RL where one click is enough for the trade to happen. There was a facepuncher here a few years ago that was scammed by another facepuncher out of his dragon claw hook for a few keys and promise of a few more full price steam games. Needless to say the games were never delivered but the victim had kept the chat logs. Not only the trade was reversed, the scammer was permanently banned from all steam trading and banned from using the community market for like a year if i'm not mistaken. By not taking action and policing fraudulent trades Psyonix is implicitly endorsing and promoting this type of behavior because scammers know that there are no repercussions or consequences to their actions. No matter what you guys say, at the end of the day psyonix is bending over backwards to protect the scammers. Why not reverse the trade and let the scammer explain how he managed to convince somebody to trade their 10 keys for random halloween items if it was not a scam? As far as I am concerned psyonix is actively promoting scams and protecting scammers by just sitting back and not policing the trades OR implementing a more secure trading system. One click needed for the trade, items can be hidden and can be removed from the trade window without any warnings or anything?? Are you kidding me?

It wasn't fraudulent. There's a stark difference between that Steam games scam, and you clicking "Okay" on a bad deal because you just didn't pay attention. At the end of the day - you AGREED to that deal by accepting it, that's on you. Not to mention the current trade window shows the number of items, which that video doesn't.

That's not a flaw with the system, that's a flaw with you.

I'm really sorry for you but you have to get over it. I think those guys should get a ban though. They bragged about "scamming" you and I think that should be bannable (at least a month or so). The banning and trading systems are kinda fucked in this game, I totally agree. I won't give Psyonix any more money until they work on stuff like this. New maps and stuff like this is cool but they always break something in return or don't fix the important stuff (e.g. the batmobile clipping through the map) I don't wanna get your hopes up, but I have 4 keys left and if I get another bm decal, I'll gift you my parallax

I also seem to play much better in RL when I've had a few drinks, I don't know why. My mate says it's cause I don't overthink and just go with my gut. But there's a real fine line between the point where I play like a drunken God, and where I play like ass. I ended up crossing that line so we just went unranked. But we'd won a solid 8 games in a row ranked, so it was all good.
