Met some randoms in a 3v3 and were against a shittalking team, and in a very close game we managed to beat them twice until they rage quit. Then we spent the following games adding each other on Steam. We were working really well together, setting each other up for goals.

Also something I've learned in the past few matches is that you can use boost aerially to extend your flight. Kinda obvious in hindsight, but I never thought of using boost as anything more than lift. This opens up my options greatly.
It's interesting how when you're rookie ranked no one uses aerials at all, then when you get to pro ranked every single person is flying around and hitting the ball perfectly.
A few pages back there were talks about a tournament, what happened to that?

Yeah the flying hits are really satisfying and can open up scoring runs since you put a lot of power behind it and most people can't do them. I think I've only successfully hit a ball while air boosting once.

It was my idea, but it's gonna take a lot of FP users if we wanna do a 3v3 tourney
2v2 might be easier, but still we'd need at least like 12+ players to make even a small tournament
I'm down for tourneys.
Pro rank.
If we're doing a tourney i'm 100% up for it
Okay, I will make a thread and link it from here, stay tuned

Are the AI controlled cars are better teammates than most online players? :v: I swear I keep setting up all these potential goals but no one ever tries to score them. Either that or no one seems to defend when we should.

Those AI know how to score man. They tend to outscore other players whenever I play them lol. Also damn ranked is toxic with randoms jesus
The Online mode feels so chaotic compared to the Singleplayer mode, it would be cool if Rocket League borrowed some ideas from Fifa Street or Gran Turismo. The game could really use more map variation or some mutators.

they know how to score they just tend to not care what net they score in

I find the AI are absolutely shit at defense and great at offense :v:
I'm planning to buy this game with some friends, but i'd have some questions first:
- How's the optimizations? Can a medium-range rig (something along the lines of a Nvidia Gt450) handle the game well?
- How's the net-code?
- Is there any plan on mod support?Like making your own vehicle chassis or field location?

This game is pretty well optimized, I haven't had many fps issues, and those I did have I repaired by just adjusting a couple settings (turned out one of their special effects was causing me massive fps issues with a GTX 970 at the start of rounds. never had any fps drops after that though)
This game has such a good soundtrack, but it's also weird because it doesn't feel like a game soundtrack at all with exception of the theme track. I keep forgetting it's what I'm listening to.
I just bumped up all the audio values to the max just in case.
Just won a 1v2 (my teammate left in the first 15 seconds) match 7-6 against some shittalkers. That was pretty exhilarating.
Rocket League apparently has four million players, holy fuck. :excited:
I really hope the game will do well, in the future I mean. I really want it to become a big thing, as big as StarCraft and Dota, maybe.
Toxic players are awful to play with
I try to be as nice as possible, but playing with them drains me much faster

Not me, I play a lot better vs shit talkers, just 7-3'd a guy who kept spamming Nice shot! and Sorry! after scoring.

It can feel really good when you win, but it's still extremely draining and can feel awful if you lose.
Best thing to do against shit talkers is just win. On ranked 2v2 once (I was teamed with a random), the other team (they had like the same clan name thing so they would have been working together) scored a goal in the first ten seconds and so on chat one of them said 'suck eggs'. So my team mate and I just knew we absolutely had to win the match. Which we did, and every time we scored a goal we spammed in chat 'suck eggs'.
Also when I was a semi-pro doing another ranked 2v2 the other three people were all pros, and it was funny because aside from a goal the other side scored in the last ten seconds, I scored all the other three goals of the match. So much for being pros.

Not really, it's motivational. Keep trying until you can make him eat shit.
If that fails go practice so you can make the next shit talker eat shit.
haha just won 10-2 in ranked solo duel
what's the point of ranks if it it's still going to place someone in pro against someone in rookie?

Level =/= skill. I've been playing against veterans and experts as a semi-pro in ranked.
[editline]Edited: [/editline]
Although I did just hit pro, but still was facing them prior to getting pro.

Keep doing that and you end up being against people who will rip you apart.

I'm talking about the actual rank though that correlates to your skill rating.
But I did brainfart, and I realize you can be rookie and still be in the pro skill rating. I don't think that dude belonged in pro if he was, haha.

There's not really a rank that correlates with skill rating? There's skill rating tiers (bronze, silver, gold, etc.) More leveled players just happen to be in higher tiers
