Quick is great, especially if you plan on playing around with mutations.
Robust Genetics is fantastic if you plan on continuing into the endgame, because mutations are very fun but negative mutations are tedious FAR more often than they're interestingly restrictive.
Honestly night vision seems like such a must-have that they should just cut out the middleman and make it part of the base character.

I still like the idea of it being so dark you can't see in front of your face, if you're in a basement at night for example. If it's clear or even cloudy (anything up to overcast, I guess) at night, you should be able to have much better vision [editline]24th February 2018[/editline] Also, the day someone makes this game in real time 3d is the day I can die happy
I think coffe shops are my new favourite looting grounds. Sleeping are for suckers!
Is there a mod or json file I can edit that removes snow and flurries from spring time? Having to wait even more during hobomode before I can start doing anything is absolutely killing my interest in the game, and setting the worldgen start date to summer fucks the balance up.
Do I remember wrong? Didn't integrated toolset let you repair/build vehicles before? I've currently assembled a car entirely held together by duct-tape and the notion makes me irrationally anxious :v:

I'm not upset that it snows at all, I'm upset that I'm lacking in chargen options unless I specifically force the game world to start in the summer.
hey, could be vibratorman too :weeb:
Just call me Radical Larry. I can resonate apart walls. I'm also disintegrating. :v: [editline]oh dear[/editline] And now I got Bad Back. Guess I've rattled my spine out of alignment...

I've never played a character far enough to play around with bionics and mutations that weren't part of a starter. Am I missing much?
Yes, there are some incredible CBM's that aren't available to starters
Protip: make a knife spear. Forage through some bushes until your survival skill is high enough (2?) and kill zombies from a distance easy.
Dont forget to practice throwing using rocks until youre a decent level. Also, firearms have become tedious as hell in this current experimental build. I dont know why I didnt see this coming.
I've also found it useful to put at least one point in dodge at char creation, even if you plan a pure ranged run. As practicing it literally involves putting yourself in harms way. Allthough the skillbooks are fairly common, I like the edge from the very start.
mutations are great but holy shit, i get so many negative effects I might as well be playing russian roulette
Do you have robust genetics?
It's literally called the mutation roulette by players, even in other games it's present in like DCSS. You can't really avoid negative effects, you just have to dive deeper or keep purifier on-hand and hope you lose more bad than good.
Also, I believe some branches have more negatives than others.
Yep, take the Alpha, for example. The majority of Alpha traits are beneficial, while something like Chimera or Slime is much more risky, but can offer much greater rewards if you get lucky or manage it well.
it doesn't matter any more. i just got mowed down by my own sentry gun
With enough autism and mutagen/purifier, anything is possible my friend http://i.imgur.com/5WlzPR5.png http://i.imgur.com/gXWddnh.png
That's some freakish dogtreebird.
