How come I can't tell what direction some enemies are coming from? I can see their names on the enemy list, but I don't see where on the direction list they're coming from.

They probably have colors that let them blend into their surroundings. Spiders are bad about this.
Oh good this thread is active again, have some screenshots from my old 0.6 character What made those mutations possible: Base: Kills: In the winter this character wore power armor [sp]without powering it[/sp]
So I have a cold now and even though I'm sleeping in a comfortable bed, wearing warm clothes, on top of being dead tired AND having fucking taken sleeping pills, some how the sound of my own coughing keeps waking me up. I don't even have Light Sleeper for shit's sake, this is fucking asinine. [editline]Right this second.[/editline] Also, I tried to read How to Trap Anything, but instead of taking '20' minutes to read, it takes more like eight bloody hours and I couldn't even stop reading after my character went from Full & Slacked to Very Hungry and Very Thirty. Nice.

Stock up on Nyquil.
Yeah yeah, okay. Was taking Nyquil too, but I just thought it was really stupid to be woken up by a slight cough after being that tired. I've had bad colds in the past, and while they might make it hard to sleep, once I finally DO get to sleep it's pretty much smooth sailing from there. Might just be me though. Also, really being tired doesn't even effect morale? That's pretty weird. Book thing is broke, though. [editline]The future[/editline] Another thing, for some reason I can't access my truck's gas tank to refill it, no matter where I'm standing.

It's not broken. You chose to study, not just read it. It continues to read it until you either gain a skill point or hit the wait command. Where you're standing is irrelevant unless at a pump, where your selector is when examining the vehicle is important.
Ok so apparently the last acid rain destroyed the steel jerrycan under my funnel. Jesus
I finally got my own truck Where do I typically find power welders? Garages right? Also, is there a way to fuel the car without carrying a container and lugging it from the pump to the car? What the fuck i just found a zombear charging me and luckly I had a bear trap and a modded M1911 to kill it.

Does it not work with the number pad? [editline]Eh[/editline] Okay, using the numpad 5 is working now, thanks. Guess I must have switched number lock off while pushing buttons. [editline]FUEL PROBLEMS[/editline] Okay, I did not realize you had to select the part in the menu that pops up after examining the car, I thought that was just for show. Oops, I was standing next to the gas tank and examining it wondering why I couldn't refill it, lol.

If it has no gas to begin with you should be able to fill up a gallon jug from a pump and that'll be enough fuel to drive it to the gas station. Personally, I always have a steel jerrycan of fuel (20,000 units if I remember right, about six full tanks) in the back of my truck. Wouldn't want to bump into the gas pumps :v:
It has been acid raining for two days already. I am starting to worry
So i found a LMOE Shelter and im gonna use my V8 pickup truck to go live there.
So I found a new ride A turret in the front and back, wall of spiked plating in the front, reinforced glass windshield, and surrounded by steel plating (save for that spot in the back where a piece of the wall is missing) Only thing it needed was a new truck battery. I figure I'll turn it into some sort of heavily armored RV for any long range missions.
What can I do about the three military blackboxes I found?
What can I do about the three military blackboxes I found?
I've heard you can get the records out of them somehow but those aren't useful (don't quote me on that)
They give you a -1 morale 'book' thing with cordinates. They did nothing in 0.8 and before, probably still don't do anything.
Burn down houses
brb demolishing that office tower
Burn down houses
Got to love the answers roguelikes tend to give to questions. From genocide of kittens to distract goblins to burning down houses for steel.
I think you can get the info out of black boxes from science labs computers, but they don't serve much purpose other than some npc missions.
I will still try to get the recording for roleplaying (read: boredom) reasons.
This is great for sound: http://mynoise.net/NoiseMachines/windNoiseGenerator.php Just throw it on 'Animate!'.
I enjoy playing it with The Last of us OST in background [editline]3rd December 2013[/editline] No better feeling then lighting a cigarete from a fucking burning office tower.
Oh my god the airhorn is amazing [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/YH6KhyK.png[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/3HdRvMZ.png[/img_thumb]
Why didn't I do this before. It's fucking genius. No more tedious battery hunting for my welder.
Review: Da Fancy Restaurant Written and experienced by Tito Da Survivor Today I went to "Da Fancy Restaurant" Restaurant, looking to grab a bite to eat in this horrible post apocalyptic world. My first clue that it was going to be a horrible experience was its close proximity to a gas station. Braving the stench of fuel, I sauntered inward and chose a nice corner booth to sit in. After waiting nearly an hour, a waiter finally approached and tried to bite me. Narrowly avoiding that, I went to find the manager to file a complaint. I had to pass through the kitchen to the main office, and after seeing what I saw I wish I hadn't. The stench was a combination of fuel from the gas station next door, rotting beef and death. There were slabs of exposed meat everywhere, rotting. The staff were furiously devouring what appeared to be another patron who was unfortunate enough to wander back there. They didn't notice me, so I pressed onward. I saw the plaque labeled "Manager", but did not get a chance to knock as the door had been ripped off the hinges. The individual in the room was a hulking mass. HOW s/he even got in there was as much a mystery as if they were the manager. I didn't even need to think twice. I Ran right for the door, evading the waiter from earlier yet again. I decided to leave them a "tip" in the form of a good old fashioned Molotov Cocktail. I returned a few days later to find a smoldering crater. The positive was the stench of fuel was gone as the fire had spread to the gas station and cause both buildings to explode. Pros: Well........now there is a swell crater. Cons: Wait staff were blood thirsty and terrible, WHO BUILDS A FANCY RESTAURANT SO CLOSE TO A FREAKIN' GAS STATION!? Manager was a possible roider. Names were made up, but I wanted to try and have fun with how I burnt down a restaurant today.
