Fuck yeah found an armored car near a science lab, all it needed was fuel.
And then i died in a fire but my new char litteraly spawned in a shelter next to the same town. Most of my stuff was ok but damaged. A lot of the clothes were burned though.

I've heard you can get the records out of them somehow but those aren't useful (don't quote me on that)

Bastard
Why didn't I do this before. It's fucking genius. No more tedious battery hunting for my welder.
Genius. Would hooking up a solar panel allow for it to charge itself? Also, not had a chance to do much with vehicles other than a shopping trolley since I've not played it since Whales was a dev, and have only a few hours into 0.9 now, but can solar panels charge UPS and such?

Wow 3L glass jars can't be used for jarring food :v: Ok you can use it for storing water but not jarring meat wtf devs.
Wow 3L glass jars can't be used for jarring food :v: Ok you can use it for storing water but not jarring meat wtf devs.
3L glass jars are used to jar kompot. Which is apparently a type of fruit-juice.
What's a good way to get batteries?
What's a good way to get batteries?
Aside from just randomly finding them, I believe its possible to make them using tin cans and lemons. I don't recall what level of what skill is used though.
Aside from just randomly finding them, I believe its possible to make them using tin cans and lemons. I don't recall what level of what skill is used though.
It's low. Something like 1 or 2 I think. You can make them with acid/acid water collected during acid rains and from lemons. I suggest using aluminum cans instead of tin when possible, as tin has more uses.
I like how you don't have two AA batteries, but 100 "battery units". I imagine you chop up each battery into 50 parts and insert them as needed into stuff.
Wow 3L glass jars can't be used for jarring food :v: Ok you can use it for storing water but not jarring meat wtf devs.
Teapots can't be used to make clean water. :( At least last I checked...
So if you make tea using contaminated water you will start vomiting? Amazing.
So if you make tea using contaminated water you will start vomiting? Amazing.
You shouldn't. Unless they changed it, in which case I realllly need to start purifying water more often. [editline]4th December 2013[/editline] OH I see what's going on. No no no; you need a pot to boil the water, not a teapot. Making tea creates a new item that doesn't care what type of water gets used in its creation. You boil it anyway. As far as I'm aware, tea never goes bad similar to water. It doesn't stay hot, though.
Today I got butthurt about never learning a new martial arts style, so I went to catacluysm_root/data/json/martialarts.json and changed
{ "type" : "martial_art", "id" : "style_judo", "name" : "Judo", "description" : "Judo is a martial art that focuses on grabs and throws, both defensive and offensive. It also focuses on recovering from throws; while using judo, you will not lose any turns to being thrown or knocked down.", "static_buffs" : [ { "id" : "judo_recovery", "name" : "Judo", "unarmed_allowed" : true, "min_unarmed" : 0, "buff_duration" : 2, "throw_immune" : true, "description" : "Immune to throws and knockdowns" } ], "techniques" : ["tec_judo_grab", "tec_judo_throw"] }
to
{ "type" : "martial_art", "id" : "style_judo", "name" : "Judo", "description" : "Judo is a martial art that focuses on grabs and throws, both defensive and offensive. It also focuses on recovering from throws; while using judo, you will not lose any turns to being thrown or knocked down.", "static_buffs" : [ { "id" : "judo_recovery", "name" : "Judo", "unarmed_allowed" : true, "min_unarmed" : 0, "buff_duration" : 2, "throw_immune" : true, "description" : "Immune to throws and knockdowns" }, { "id" : "tiger_static", "name" : "Tiger Strength", "description" : "Strength provides additional damage bonus.", "unarmed_allowed" : true, "hit_str" : 0.8 } ], "onhit_buffs" : [ { "id" : "tiger_hit_buff", "name" : "Tiger Fury", "description" : "+3 Bash/atk", "unarmed_allowed" : true, "min_unarmed" : 2, "buff_duration" : 3, "max_stacks" : 8, "bash" : 3 } ], "techniques" : ["tec_judo_grab", "tec_judo_throw", "tec_krav_maga_rapid", "tec_krav_maga_feint", "tec_krav_maga_precise", "tec_krav_maga_disarm", "tec_krav_maga_grab" ] },
Now my Judo is Tiger Style + Judo + Krav Manga techniques. The outcome was a little bit (absolutely) OP, but you get the idea. So you can make your own martial arts style by adding various techniques and buffs to one of default ones. If you have a character with karate and modify it you won't have to start a new game. That might cause bugs to appear. I have not encountered any except a little effect saying "invalid martial art buff". Now go out there in the wasteland and be jackie chan.
Uaaah. I've reached that point that my game crashes whenever I open the save :/
Dammit, all the wildlife now has tainted meat. Is hunting for meat no longer viable?
I made that ganz rustung crossbow and I can't seem to hit shit with it even when it's like 7 blocks away. I guess normal and repeating crossbow or the reflex recurve bow are better.
Dammit, all the wildlife now has tainted meat. Is hunting for meat no longer viable?
Are you on the latest experimental or something? My version was compiled from git a few days after 0.9 stable came out and I can still get meat from animals.
Oh shit acid rain destroys metal :v: Are you only supposed to use glass to collect acid rain? It doesn't really make sense that you can boil it and make batteries if the cans melt in acid rain.
Are you on the latest experimental or something? My version was compiled from git a few days after 0.9 stable came out and I can still get meat from animals.
I can get meat normally, but when I try and eat it, even after cooking it, it says it smells disgusting and gives food poisoning. Also, yeah, I'm on experimental
I can get meat normally, but when I try and eat it, even after cooking it, it says it smells disgusting and gives food poisoning. Also, yeah, I'm on experimental
Is it (rotten)?
That's uh... a strange place for lava.
That's uh... a strange place for lava.
You gotta check the shelves near it man, there has to be good shit in them.
Welp, game crashed while saving. Now when I load up the save it gives me an error about artifacts.gsav, my car isn't there anymore, and every time I move it gives me an error about vehicle not found. That's one way to end a character I guess...
Also how long does common cold last with medicine?
Genius. Would hooking up a solar panel allow for it to charge itself? So yes! edit And the vehicle I made with it.
Also how long does common cold last with medicine?
1-2 days usually. I once got rid off it in a single day. This may vary as it seems that the hidden value of "immunity" affects it. It's a half mythical number that seems to exist, but nobody ever proven it. It's increased by vitamines and decreased by antibiotics. That's all we know.
That's uh... a strange place for lava.
For the record/those who didn't know, random things of lava like that could pop up even back in the original vanilla/Wales version of Cataclysm. Doesn't mean anything good is there, just that world gen sneezed and put a lava patch where it probably shouldn't be.
Do piercing weapons provide any advantage over other types? It's so rare that it seems pointless (no pun intended) to ever consider it.
