The crashes might be because of NPC's. I have mine off and it's never crashed once.
Got hit once by a dog, started bleeding, then it turned around and walked away as I bled to death.

For some reason I can't refuel my motorcycle even though I have both gasoline & a rubber hose, whenever I try to refill it attempts to refuel the battery instead of the engine. Damn thing ate the batteries I had on me the first time I tried it and now I have no gas in the tank. Help please.
Try moving the gas tank to somewhere else. Also you don't need a rubber hose to refill, just to siphon.
This game pisses me off sometimes, I ended up getting killed by a wolf since I accidently pulled out a flare gun instead of my pistol. I had spike pits and shit and a fuck-load of supplies in that gas station dammit.

Good thing I had the tools & skill books needed to remove/install them. It's really weird how the motorcycles start off like that, you think you'd be able to access the gas tank by default.
It's just something they haven't tackled, car batteries are new and they haven't worked out all the bugs.
Been having fun playing a facsimile to myself in Cataclysm. The latest experimental build of course. I may have embellished my base stats a bit, as I had a crap ton of points to spend based on my bad traits and very low perception... I'll likely correct that when I die, as painful as it may be to not spend points. Anyway, I don't think I'll be terribly sad to let my computer skills atrophy.
I used to play the Whales Cataclysm. I play this. See a wolfsuit. Quit and delete folder and never play it again. What has happened to my old favorite game.. the horror.

Honestly don't knock the wolf suit, that thing has awesome temp. For a while before they added a lot of warm clothes and being able to auto-use clothes you're sleeping on, I loved finding one for sleeping or when it got colder and I wasn't going anywhere I needed my equipment. Beat the fuck out of using pea coats.
I was fucking around with Debug and shit and I made a size 16 city world. After doing the "Reveal Map" this is what I see. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Uc5YKsl.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/ZVAZYFl.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/eMNf45E.png[/t]
Now kill everything in it

Crimney, I have a hard enough time getting in and out of a really small town. I can't imagine the horrors of even trying to escape that nightmare alive. Actually, that sounds frikkin' awesome.
I run 2 up from default and can get some pretty big cities. Beats the shit out of mine, though.
The funny thing is that when I started it said "Debug - No Shelter" or something among those lines, then it launched me in the middle of the city, so apparently there was so much city that no evac shelters were spawned.
Playing with huge cities assured me that in case of a zombie invasion there is no hope for anyone in a big city.
Playing with huge cities assured me that in case of a zombie invasion there is no hope for anyone in a big city.
I can't wait until we get proper Z-Level support in huge ass cities. I imagine it'll make it ALOT more interesting trying to survive.
I'm waiting on proper NPC implementation, honestly. Z-level support is great, don't get me wrong, but properly functioning NPCs will add a lot more, in my opinion.
I'm waiting on proper NPC implementation, honestly. Z-level support is great, don't get me wrong, but properly functioning NPCs will add a lot more, in my opinion.
What about monster in-fighting?
Monster in-fighting would be nice, but I've been wanting to build a proper fortress for forever. Without NPCs it'd just be a bunch of buildings and a wall I spent too much time on.
I'm waiting on proper NPC implementation, honestly. Z-level support is great, don't get me wrong, but properly functioning NPCs will add a lot more, in my opinion.
What is Z-Level support? Like hills or building underground or something?
What is Z-Level support? Like hills or building underground or something?
A z-level is a vertical level, like in Dwarf Fortress. Multiple z-level support means that there won't just be science labs and mines and such with basements, but apartment complexes and office buildings with higher stories.
Hey, I used to play Whale's Cataclysm but he apparently closed the shop after a while and paused the development. What's the current thing you guys are playing and it's relation to Whale's Cata?
Also will allow for things like proper flying enemies and diving out of windows multiple stories up and actually falling. Might allow for proper flight with the right CBMs/mutations. They're at 0.9 right now, not counting all the experimental versions. http://www.wiki.cataclysmdda.com/index.php?title=Main_Page
Sorry to revive a somewhat dormant thread. Been playing this again lately myself. (Only thing that runs nicely on my makeshift rig before I can get a new one) Having a lot of fun. However the fact that I get *Very Hungry* In only a day somewhat kills it. I can understand thirsty, but food is a bit OTT, or is that just me? :v: Still, was able to navigate a few chars to my little house/fort, got a dedicated looter/main, a dedicated Mechanic, and a Dedicated Hunter/Chef.
Whats a good program to take screenshots of cataclysm and cataclysm only?
