Whats a good program to take screenshots of cataclysm and cataclysm only?
you could use http://prntscr.com/ to crop/save the shot then upload it to a proper image host.
Might try this on my shitty laptop, seems like a fun game to play when away from my desktop in Uni.
God dammit my truck is about to break and im not even close do being done to exploring this city. Guess its time to park it in the garage and explore on foot. [editline]1st February 2014[/editline] Also how can i change skill decay?
Sorry to revive a somewhat dormant thread. Been playing this again lately myself. (Only thing that runs nicely on my makeshift rig before I can get a new one) Having a lot of fun. However the fact that I get *Very Hungry* In only a day somewhat kills it. I can understand thirsty, but food is a bit OTT, or is that just me? :v: Still, was able to navigate a few chars to my little house/fort, got a dedicated looter/main, a dedicated Mechanic, and a Dedicated Hunter/Chef.
Food is an issue at the start. And then that's basically it, especially if you get a good bow and live near a forest or even just plains and go hunting in the mornings. It's especially true if you also loot cities during the day, because there's plenty of non-perishable or barely perishable foods all over. Most of my games that I've stopped playing in, I've got 30 or so MREs and a couple pages worth of canned meat. Not to mention any other non-perishables I've found like chips and pickles, plus the renewable meat I gather every couple mornings or so to keep from having to chip into my MREs. Can't remember what section it's in off-hand, though. [editline]1st February 2014[/editline]
Whats a good program to take screenshots of cataclysm and cataclysm only?
Although not ideal, I've recently started using gifcam for general screenshots. Especially since Hoverdesk took down Hoversnap! and doesn't even mention it on their site anymore.
Oh god i got [sp]teleported[/sp] by something and it gave me [sp]Fungal parasite[/sp] How can i get rid of it?
Has anyone ever successfully built a cabin in the woods from scratch?
Oh god i got [sp]teleported[/sp] by something and it gave me [sp]Fungal parasite[/sp] How can i get rid of it?
You need a really high cooking skill to make a cure. That's the only way.
I found some [sp]Royal jelleh[/sp] in a lab so im fine now.
So which version of the game should I be getting? There are so many links on the OP it confuses me.

Unless it's just me, but it seems too fast. As a sidenote. I thought Fresh meat went bad after like a day?
I found some [sp]Royal jelleh[/sp] in a lab so im fine now.
What is that? I found some outside a random house. But died before being able to use it.
So which version of the game should I be getting? There are so many links on the OP it confuses me.
Depends if ya want a tile set or not. You can grab the nightly build with tile sets from http://ci.narc.ro/view/Cataclysm-DDA/job/Cataclysm-Matrix/Graphics=Tiles,Platform=Windows/ Just grab the latest. Updated numerous times a day.
What is that? I found some outside a random house. But died before being able to use it.
[sp]OP food item that cures all illnesses and has a chance to remove bad mutations[/sp]
[sp]OP food item that cures all illnesses and has a chance to remove bad mutations[/sp]
Oh! Damn, I should probably venture back to where that character died and try to retrieve it then. :v:
Oh! Damn, I should probably venture back to where that character died and try to retrieve it then. :v:
You can find 1-5 of it per each [sp]lab[/sp] and it happens to be around random places from time to time. Can be found on zombies too. So it's not that rare. From my experience it's much more plentiful then required to survive.

Concentrating on building my outpost/house/garage and supplies up first before taking on something like that. :v:
So which version of the game should I be getting? There are so many links on the OP it confuses me.
This page will take you to the latest release as well as latest nightly, plus a link directly to the announcement forum which you can check the progress of the newest version - which shouldn't be far off, but there's save compatibility so no worries about starting now.
It's not the fact of getting food, it's more the fact that you get hungry absurdly fast. Unless it's just me, but it seems too fast. As a sidenote. I thought Fresh meat went bad after like a day?
It does, but it's pretty simple to collect more. I can whatever I'm able to, but mostly I just hunt every day or two. Generally at least a squirrel is hanging around that I can pop.
You can find 1-5 of it per each [sp]lab[/sp] and it happens to be around random places from time to time. It's not super incredibly rare, but you generally have to fight to find it. It's not guaranteed to be in [sp]labs[/sp], but I'm pretty sure it's guaranteed from [sp]bee hives[/sp]. Just watch out for its denizens, they can be nasty if you aren't prepared.
Ah I still haven't explored one yet. Concentrating on building my outpost/house/garage and supplies up first before taking on something like that. :v:
That's a good idea. [sp]Labs[/sp] generally have a lot of useful loot in them, and I like to take a vehicle with a lot of storage space to park nearby. Spent three days unloading a particularly good haul once.
Oh man this game is great so far. Which title set is the best? Or should I just stick with ASCII?
Personal preference. I got used to ASCII before they added in tiles so I'm partial to that, but I run a tileset in DF so I can't knock them any. Completely up to you, personally I think ASCII makes things simpler once you get used to it
Yeah I just switched it to ASCII and it's much better looking for me. Thanks. I found a house but some zombies chased me. I shut the door behind me. I hope they can't break doors down.

A lot of enemies are able to bash things, including walls, - ineffective on most walls - doors, - which will break after repeated attacks - and windows - which will smash first shot.
AHHHHHH
New players to Roguelikes are adorable to watch.
Im not new to rouge likes :( I used to play Dort Fort all the time.
Well, new players to individual Roguelikes at least.
I tried to sneak out a window but the zombies saw me so I ran into a car and shut the door. This is the end. I managed to draw every zombie in the town to my car by honking the car horn and flashing the headlights. Then I booked it. It's not going to end well for me. [editline]1st February 2014[/editline] I ded :(
ASCII for lyfe because nothing is worse then a roguelike with poor graphics. It just doesn't fit.
Is it normal for 50 zombies to come out of no where.
Is it normal for 50 zombies to come out of no where.
Yes It is also normal for a shitton of wolves to come out of nowhere and rape you right after you awake on the second-third day
They can do that. Especially if you're playing on dynamic spawns.
I have static spawns on though. Weird. Must of been a horde or something.
Hordes aren't uncommon. Zombies tend to move towards sound, and I believe it's irrelevant of who it comes from as long as they can't see it. So if a zombie shuffles and makes noise, they'll move to it and trigger more zombies that follow them, who trigger more zombies, etc..
