Does this mean we can dig our own bunkers? If so, awesome!
I better be able to dig too deep.
How does the dino-mod work? Do they pop in after a few days or is mine broken or something.
Same question here.
I've spotted an entire mob of Compsognathus in a wild life center pen, along with a dog, and I was also charged by a raptor in a hallucination but other than that I haven't met any dinosaurs 'in the wild'.
As far as I know, the dino-mod only works on dynamic spawn.
I better be able to dig too deep.
To be honest some of the shit you find above ground is about on par with what you'd find in the circus.
Are NPC's still broken?
Are NPC's still broken?
They still shoot you at random and try to eat lighters so yes
They still shoot you at random and try to eat lighters so yes
That's not broken, just "eccentric."
aaaaaaaaaaaaa AAAAAAAAA
Now I can finally make staircases into lava. [editline]26th March 2014[/editline]
They still shoot you at random and try to eat lighters so yes
I had a guy follow me an it was okay. I just made a general rule: if an npc turns "hostile" or "fleeing" he will soon start attacking me, so I shoot him on sight.
So, while I was minding my own business bringing my cooking up to level 7 inside a military bunker, two NPCs spawned in adjacent locked, unopened cells with a single way in. Suffice to say I nuked the one that kept interrupting my reading with threats.
So my most successful character yet got rekt by a pack of securibots while raiding a lab. Rip in peace Cunt McSprunt, you'll be missed ;_;7 And my new character almost died from a bolt to the face when disarming a crossbow trap 10 meters from the shelter. This game is fun.

I got this." I said to myself. I ran in dodging bullets like a ninja with Dexterity 23 and Wired Reflexes, and like a sweet ninja robot cyborg(tm) I sliced it in half with my sword. It exploded, killing me instantly.

I was even wearing power armor, although I didn't have that high of dex and that CBM wasn't in the game yet - I think that was back in 0.6 or 0.7 this happened. This was also the first game I started work on any form of APC in, and I even managed to get the first design of one completed. I was even running around with a G36 for problem enemies. I even realized how big of a mistake I had made part way to the turret, but I decided I wasn't going to be able get back out alive so I should just hope it missed enough to blast through it.

My most successful character, a one handed man living in a cave named Samuel Jackson (randomly gened name, lost his hand killing the two bears living in the cave) ended up dying after finding a small crevice in the cave his was living in that lead into a sewer system that was infested by little taser robots and zombie scientists. Since Samuel has spent most of his time hunting squirrels out in the forest with a home made spear he was woefully under-equipped to fight sewer roombas and sadly perished.
Wow can you get hit by anything at all with Dex that high?
Explosions apparently.

It was probably the explosions that got me too, as I was forced to block them in a doorway using melee... I got 2 or 3 of them though! And I'd gotten all these nice mutations and all...
I'm really glad they haven't implemented diabeetus in the game (yet). All my characters have been living almost exclusively off junkfood, soda and energy drinks after the addition of vending machines :v:
I'd love if they added type one diabetes, hyperglycemia, and/or hypoglycemia.
As a starter trait maybe, I think I remember seeing someone mention it in the forums and at the time it was suggested that stuff like diabetes is actually too hard. If you don't manage it constantly through the day and get your insulin, you have a greatly increased risk of dying or being otherwise incapacitated. With their desire to make modding easy to deal with, - including picking and choosing which ones are used in which world - I have no doubt there'll be plenty of trait and mutation mods available once more people catch on to it.

Last things I want are to get sick or die from having one too many Root Beers or Crispy Cranberries, so I keep vitamins on hand.

I never live long enough to feel any effect from it anyway though. I wonder, will you just suddenly drop dead, without any clue that it's because of unhealthy living? I also find it funny that stuff like cookies counts as "junkfood" rather than wheat/vegetable, so carnivores can eat them.
The health stat basically just controls your resistance to stuff like the cold, as far as I know. If you have a low health stat you're more likely to catch a cold when outdoors during the cold or rain.
So I won't get all wheezy and out of shape, and eventually die of a massive coronary then? Would be a funny addition though. With a new stat, like heart rate and needing nitrogen pills or valium or something to calm it down. Allthough that would probably be a bit finicky to manage, I suspect.
Joke's on you, all my sweet ninja robot cyborg(tm) characters ever eat are squirrels I pelt to death with rocks.

I also find it funny that stuff like cookies counts as "junkfood" rather than wheat/vegetable, so carnivores can eat them.
For information regarding the 'mysterious' health stat, I'll refer you to my post from earlier. In addtion:
player.cpp 1096 int iuse::vitamins(player *p, item *it, bool) { g->add_msg_if_player(p,_("You take some vitamins.")); if (p->health >= 10) { return it->type->charges_to_use(); } else if (p->health >= 0) { p->health = 10; } else { p->health += 10; } return it->type->charges_to_use(); }
So vitamins increases it by a flat 10 per charge of it that you use. Root beer decreases your health with -1 according to the json while stuff like energy drinks decreases it by -6 but a tomato will increase it by 1. Just to give you guys a sense of scale. It actually makes you heal faster too:
player.cpp 5731 void player::mend() { ... // Being healthy helps if(health > 0) { healing_factor *= 2.0; } ... }
Other than that, it's just used some misc places such as helping you agaisnt getting alcohol addictions, not getting infected by spores and that's about it.
Three broads managed to find their way into the basement of my evac center and are refusing to leave. On the plus side, repopulating the earth just got that much easier. On the minus side, two of them have shotguns and I'm increasingly uncomfortable with sleeping down there.

It's the only solution.
