Awesome, I can read at night now with High Night Vision.
So does the stable or unstable version have animal infighting?
I downloaded the stable one and have seen dogs attacking other animals, if that helps. Shit, I've got the flu! This game doesn't give me a break :(. Literally done nothing but sleep and keep hydrated and fed for 3 days, run out of meat & had to go shoot a deer to cook but other than that my character has been ill. Cough syrup doesn't seem to stop me coughing (just like in real life) and I've taken loads of vitamins to try and recover from this illness. Strength has dropped really low so I can't carry much, hope this passes soon without killing me. Also the dog has found it's way downstairs and is hanging out down there. Gonna try make a stone fireplace because I heard that won't set things on fire, then I can have it going in my basement! Add in a locker and some storage down there and I'll have a nice little base going. Can you carpet floors in this game?

I wonder if waste will ever be a problem in this game. Like if you live and poop in the same room, you should be able to get diseases or something. and if you hold your pee in too long you get a urinal tract infection.
Hah, oh wow. When you have the Internal Furnace CBM and press Eat on an USB stick with misc. software it says that you eat the misc software and it places and empty USB stick in your inventory. :v:

The only reason why'd you want to keep hydrated and warm is to not get sick 'again' which will just extend your sickness.

I should really read the wiki but it feels wrong to do so!

How do you even sleep guise halp me :v:
How do you even sleep guise halp me :v:
You find a comfortable floor. You press $
How do you even sleep guise halp me :v:
I struggled with this so much at the start. Dropping a bunch of clothes on the bench in your shelter and then trying to sleep on it when your character reports feeling tired might get you a few hours before the cold gets to you. Try find a house with a bed and sleep on that, or make your own!
I fucking love being asthmatic and eating my inhaler on accident. I just imagine my character dying of an asthma attack, taking his inhaler out and throwing it into his internal furnace, then going all "HOLY SHIT WHAT I HAVE I DONE".
Ah right, makes sense. I should really read the wiki but it feels wrong to do so!
I don't think there's anything about it on the wiki, I've just been looking at the code for some things that I've been wondering about myself. I wrote a detailed post about the flu earlier if anybody cares enough about it.
How do you even sleep guise halp me :v:
Be indoors. And don't be too cold/warm. A bed or rollmat/similar helps. Also. Don't sleep near zombies or animals.
My character is stuck moving north, any ideas?
Anyone? I'd really like to play.
Couple questions. 1. I've got a character with 3 cutting weapon skill yet he seems to miss all the time with the fire axe. 2. What's the easiest way to make an improvised explosion? I'm not just talking about making a grenade.
1. I've got a character with 3 cutting weapon skill yet he seems to miss all the time with the fire axe.
Have you checked you torso encumberment? Only a little affect you signifigantly. And I think the general melee skill is an important factor. Also, I'm not sure if it work this way, but I think the fire axe have equal bashing and cutting damage. Perhaps you should level bashing a bit as well?
Anyone? I'd really like to play.
I'll look into this on forums to see if anyone's reported a similar issue. Torso encumbrance greatly affects melee and dodge skills, sending them into negatives if it goes over your skill level. 1 point will reduce both skills by 0.5, and the torso is the easiest to encumber when trying to get a good amount of volume. The melee game is all about being able to drop your loot and backpacks for serious fights. Find some ammo, drop it, light it on fire. Might work best with something that also burns normally, like paper or some wood or something. Flaming ammo seems to be the Cata forum userbase's go-to solution for anything that's even remotely challenging, I don't particularly care for it. Waste of ammo, in my opinion.
Here are my stats, I don't know if im very encumbered.
I'll look into this on forums to see if anyone's reported a similar issue.
I've only found on post about it from bay12. It was from november 2013 and he never got it fixed. I've played the game succesfully about a month ago and I've changed nothing on the computer since then.
Here are my stats, I don't know if im very encumbered.
Your torso encumbrance is 5. That's reducing your melee and dodge skills by 2.5 each, pushing your melee skill into -1.5. That's severely reducing your hit chance with melee weapons, if you want to play melee you have to be willing to take off or drop heavily encumbering torso items. In a recent game I stumbled onto a Pawn Shop with various doo dads strewn around, some drugs and a single grenade in the back room and a Wedding Dress. A REALLL stretch, but somehow the pawn shop from "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" episode "Mac and Charlie Die" got to Not England somehow. Not saying it was deliberate, just that it was REALLY similar because of the Wedding Dress in the front and drugs(granted on the show it was specifically Poppers) and grenade in the back. I'm pretty sure The Bride would have taken solace in the fact that I ate the dress for fuel for my bionics.

Can you put a seatbelt on a motorbike so I stop flying off when hitting mooses
Can you put a seatbelt on a motorbike so I stop flying off when hitting mooses
I just installed a seat and 5 point harness (long rope) on my quad.
Having a good little run here. 15 Strength + Thick-Skin gives you incredible resistance to the elements and things that want to kill you. I'm kind of regretting not choosing more health debuff traits, I rarely ever go into yellow health for anything. Been ill a couple of times however due to terrible fucking weather, despite having disease resistance. My 'home' is a trio of houses surrounding a crater at the edge of a town. It's surprisingly safe, no zombies once I cleared them all out and woodland creatures everywhere meaning a never-ending supply of food. The butchered corpses of dead cougars, moose and dogs litter the fields in every direction however. Had a rather absurd moment when I ran out of things to eat within the house I sleep in. I had spent all day forcing myself to a read book on mechanics so by the time I was ready to eat and sleep I could not for the life of me find anything to eat in my hoard. I ended up running around in the pouring rain at the middle of the night looking for things to stab while my character's moral took a plunge due to the cold and the wet. I eventually found a shrew or racoon, I can't really remember because it was fresh meat within seconds. I then proceeded to set a shrub on fire (yes, in torrential rain) just to cook it and eat it since I had run out of hotplates. Needless to say I caught a cold due to those antics which took days to clear up.
Anyone know a way to cheat revive your character?
Anyone know a way to cheat revive your character?
Best you can do as far as I know is to backup your saves regularly.
