Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead - FUCK NO SPORTING GOODS STORES

Don't forget you need to manually turn on your minifridge via the car controls for it to work.
I was rolling around with an entire page of berries inside of it only for them to rot the moment I realized the fridge was never on in the first place.
I like this art style a lot. Looks fucking amazing do you have any other work or stuff like that
I have this (also kinda Cata related) it's old as balls. Most of my shit's in 3D modeling these days.
Not as far as I know... here's a screenshot.

What tileset is this?
No, I mean I'm considered to be in the wilderness, and there was acid rain that killed all the animals around my shelter and it just so happens that I get attacked by 3 zombears and 4 zombie dogs in the same day away from any city.
Pretty certain they only spawn in wilderness tiles, but the amount of dead animals around doesn't affect the spawn rates. I have a lot of wilderness tiles outside of my house, but I'm still in the city. I tend to get a dog or bear every couple of days or so.
Do you need a waterproof clothing to cover every body part so that you can stay completely dry during rain or just the head and torso?
I think every part, which is simple for head, torso and feet. You can also just carry a towel around and apply it every time you step out of the rain, it's 1 turn to completely remove all 'wet' effects.

Except mouth and eyes. I don't think they need to be covered.
What's the best way to deal with turrets in military outposts? I have a shitload of guns and ammo but I'm not too good at the whole aiming thing yet. Right now I'm beginning to think that just getting four or more working vehicles and accelerating them into the walls of outpost might be the most efficient way of dealing with them for me.
Is the higher your focus, the faster you read a book?
I'm fairly sure it's just the more you learn from any source.
I'm fairly sure it's just the more you learn from any source.
Any non-book source.
Any non-book source.
Ah, I see.
The ingame help file should have more information on it, pretty sure it was updated when they implemented focus.
So I'm guessing cutting quality was something someone wanted to implement but didn't go all the way through so it's unfinished and everything has a cutting quality of 1?
It's partially implemented right now, it's the groundwork for all tool-based interactions. They're working on expanding it in the next version.
Fun thing: They fucked up the decay rates for cooked meat. It actually decays faster than chunks of meat, right? Which kind of makes sense. Except it checks its age based on the chunk of meat's creation, not on its cook time. So it's entirely possible - especially in Summer - to cook perfectly good meat into rotten cooked meat.

Oh is THAT what was happening?! Thanks for that!

You can't wait until dark, move to just outside their light range and throw rocks or shoot them from virtually point blank range? That way even if your aim is trash you are close enough for it not to matter.
Do bandages heal?
Do bandages heal?
Yes they do. Naturally they don't do anything for pain. They are weaker than a First Aid Kit.
Run out of the will to play this game for the moment, keep dying or getting stuck with nothing to do. Might have a go in a little bit and try to get a car going so I can drive from gas station to gas station keeping it filled.
Do bandages heal?
Bandages are one of the easiest and earliest sources of actual healing, as well as being able to stop bleeding instantly. Assuming you rob liquor stores for the alcohol and shred tons of clothes, they'll probably be a good source of both emergency healing and base healing if you don't have Fast Healer. First Aid is incredibly valuable without a source of disinfectant, as you can use it to clean those nasty bite wounds zombies can give you. Don't be afraid to use it if you need to though, better to live long enough to be able to scramble for disinfectant than die trying to conserve a consumable.
Jesus Christ, bows are OP. Why has nobody told me this before?
Even just the longbow+heavy arrow reks.
[editline]9th April 2014[/editline]
Before I was afraid I'd run out of gun ammo, but with the bow I'm confident about just strolling in the city and killing zombies.
Man, starting as a hobo is tough..
I'm having withdrawal induced dreams of Shia Le Boef.

It gets better with the better bows. Once you get up to reflex recurve and start using metal arrows, you'll be doing 100+ damage at long range no problem.

That seems almost unbalanced. Once you get up to that you're good forever. At least with guns you make noise and ammo is hard to come by or make. With a bow you're 100% silent and you can pick up arrows again.
I think for balance it's a bit off, but I suppose in a zombie apocalypse it really would be the preferable weapon. I think the best way to balance it would be to make it cripplingly slow/hard to aim until you're good with it. Just think how hard it would be to kill a zombie with some shitty bow you made out of branches and string having barely used a bow and arrow ever (if at all).

It is. Reflex recurves also require 12 strength to use adequately. The basic bows and arrows do pisspoor damage and end up having to kite like fuck to get any use out of them early. Crossbows are great, except they take a ridiculous amount of time to reload. They're hard to train up, but once you do you're ridiculous.
How do you remove the wheels on a car? I have a jack and wrench but I'm not sure what to do next.
Jack and wrench to replace destroyed tires with non-destroyed tires. Wrench and hacksaw to remove parts.
I mean I have a car right in front of me, and I want to get its wheels to put them on another car. Nothing I'm trying is working.
It kind of pisses me off how the Marijuana companies obviously paid off the DDA crew. Why else would a majority of the basements I've found happen to be underground marijuana farms? Bad enough big tobacco has their thumb in this with all the cigarettes I find lying around.
Bad joking aside, its kind of irritating to go downstairs expecting to find the one with 3 rows of display cases with weapons or the one with food and beds, but time after time its a friggin pot farm.
EDIT: Minutes after posting, I stumbled onto a pre fortified house. Funny how things work, isn't it?
I can't find a single goddamn wrench. What the fuck garages.

Parts is parts. Tires count. To physically remove a part from a car, you have to have a hacksaw and a wrench.
