The new experimental build has some new things. I played it a ton last summer (Here's my character from then for reference)
Oh good this thread is active again, have some screenshots from my old 0.6 character What made those mutations possible: Base: Kills: In the winter this character wore power armor [sp]without powering it[/sp]
How do you fire an attachment? I put a rail mounted crossbow on my crossbow but when I change to it by pressing F and try firing it won't work. It just says "firing crossbow" and won't let me aim/shoot it. Maybe the game doesn't want me to have a crossbow on my crossbow.
Mutagen is the coolest thing. Any places where it's more likely to spawn? Seems pretty random so far, found it in houses, sewage plants and scientist corpses.
Mutagen is the coolest thing. Any places where it's more likely to spawn? Seems pretty random so far, found it in houses, sewage plants and scientist corpses.
Labs are the primary place. Find the right book and you can make your own.
So... Uncanny Dodge.
"Your nervous system has been augmented with bionic processors, allowing you to dodge attacks beyond normal human capability, including bullets."
Don't try to dodge fully automatic weapons at point blank, it doesn't really work.

Any way to split stacks? I have 20 medkits but I want to leave some at my base. Batteries too.
The new experimental version can donno how nor which version you run tho Zolfs (Zambe Wolfs) and Bloater zombies (That blow up in hazy poison clouds that fuck you up real bad)
Any way to split stacks? I have 20 medkits but I want to leave some at my base. Batteries too.
to split stacks, type in a number and then select the item once you figure it out it's extremely helpful [editline]11th April 2014[/editline] On one hand, I feel kind of dirty for using a Granade. On the other hand, I got it legit in a military bunker, and didn't savescum for the results. on the mutated third hand: 22 dexterity holy shit
The new experimental build has some new things. Weapons break down now oh i love the challenge
Uuuuuuuuuuuughhhhhh I hate this mechanic. It's the same as skill rust, for me. It doesn't add anything fun to the game, it's just tiresome and annoying. Generally since I'm not that invested in the game I go for all the risky stuff early on, managed to get 2 buffs :v: Now I'm rocking around with like 22 strength and intelligence.
Labs and mines are genuinely unsettling in this game, oh man. Even if the only things I've found in my little baby adventures are a few slime traps and a few wiggly wyrms. But now that I have mad ammo and the hydraulic muscle bionic I feel like I've finally reached that level of endgame. Speaking of which I really hope a new update puts in monster infighting because I totally want to make an insect mutation character and fortify an ant or bee nest and play defend the hive.
Any way to split stacks? I have 20 medkits but I want to leave some at my base. Batteries too.
Drop menu, hit the number you want to drop, and mark the item for being dropped.
Any way to split stacks? I have 20 medkits but I want to leave some at my base. Batteries too.
-late- Wow I forgot to refresh the page, beaten to it with a better explanation above!
The latest experimental's interface is a mess. Is there a way I can change it to what it is on the latest stable?
how can i tell if my manhack is evolving and becoming more powerful because it just shredded a giant worm and both halves in the time it took me to cross the street to see what it was doing
how do i unfreeze food?
how do i unfreeze food?
I think you simply cook it, but you'll probably need the relevant tools and recipe to cook certain frozen foods. I could be wrong, though.
i tried to put a frozen hotdog on a hotplate but it's still frozen but hot.
i tried to put a frozen hotdog on a hotplate but it's still frozen but hot.
The kind of statement that one can only hear from roguelike players.
i tried to put a frozen hotdog on a hotplate but it's still frozen but hot.
what the fuck kind of hotdog is this
what the fuck kind of hotdog is this
It's a psychological weapon developed in the deepest parts of those horrific science labs: a hot dog that's delicious and hot looking on the outside, but totally frozen and gross on the inside. It's a perfection on the age old microwave food formula, intended to break the will of enemy soldiers and probably pulled out of some otherworldly hell portal.
Started a new save, decided to try being a bionic patient with nice traits (and default stats), and the basement of the evac shelter was full of stuff. Backpacks, food, first aid kits, books, everything. Also a bunch of zombies but my bionic muscles helped me splat them into oblivion with a rock! [editline]12th April 2014[/editline] I may have just broken the game for myself. I was in a lab searching for stuff and I found about 30 doses of mutagen and about 15 doses of purifier over the day or so I spent in there (I also got shot up badly by turrets, being nearly dead). Decided to go for it and drank the mutagen, taking purifier if I ever got a bad trait. Ended up with a rather OP character (I got the stat buffing mutations, as well as night vision and regeneration) who seems to just dodge everything and kill enemies in a single whack of his crowbar. Oh dear. Just found a house with a weed farm in the basement haha
i tried to put a frozen hotdog on a hotplate but it's still frozen but hot.
You access it through the & crafting menu for a cooked hotdog.
What increases the safe speed of a vehicle? I'm fairly sure this car SHOULD be able to go faster than 40mph, it's got a 1.8L engine in it.
What increases the safe speed of a vehicle? I'm fairly sure this car SHOULD be able to go faster than 40mph, it's got a 1.8L engine in it.
Engine type, weight and I think your driving skill.
Engine type, weight and I think your driving skill.
Threw all the crap I had stored in the trunk out of the back and onto the floor, safe speed rose to 50. In excitement I went up to this new top speed (was previously 35), lost control and slammed it directly into a wall, dying. Huzzah! I went upstairs in a lab and there are no stairs back down? My guy is now starting to freeze to death and I can't for the life of me find a way out :(. I activated the debug menu and teleported to the basement of the evac shelter. I'm all for dealing with what happens but there being no stairs back down when I just WENT UP THEM is ridiculous haha.
Speaking of crashing with vehicles, ever tried crafting while driving? Turns out that was a somewhat stupid thing to do. Also, I've been wondering if asymmetry affects the handling of the car? Are side-heavy vehicles prone to veer to said side?

When I had my car I threw several engines in the back left seat and it seemed to almost always veer to the left when driving. May just be me imagining it though.
