You may be on to something there. When I had my car I threw several engines in the back left seat and it seemed to almost always veer to the left when driving. May just be me imagining it though.
I'm pretty sure that's not a thing that happens.
Either your driving skill is too low or the car isn't straightened up.

Driving Skill was 1 and I did slam it into a wall shortly after removing the engines so it was probably just a fun coincidence!
Activated some C4 and forgot to drop it....
activated a mininuke expecting to be able to throw it somewhat far, realised i couldnt throw it that far when only 2 ticks left, threw it, tried to run, it blew up.
i limped back to my humwee and floored it through a big horde of zombies though, fixed myself up while driving, and i only lost an arm..
no problem.
I'm slightly low on fun. Cleared out my immediate area, have a lot of supplies and now I'm reading those 6 books I took from a library. on the other hand I can make a lot of stuff now

Get a car. Fill it up with your supplies, drive for awhile to a new area, and set up a new base and clear out another town. :v: It's what I do after I run out of things to loot, kill and do in my current town.
My character is steadily losing health on all body parts with no obvious reason given by the game. There is no message in the logs about it and if I hadn't checked I wouldn't have even noticed. I am in pain and my health across all parts is in yellow, dropping down every few steps. What have I done? :(
-> Your night vision turns into high night vision
HP is in the low yellow mark, drops down to red. Spammed first aid kits to keep torso and head in yellow and it seems to have stopped dealing random damage to me now, but what the hell is going on!

I think you might be irradiated. Especially if you just got a mutation out of the blue.
See if you can find some Iodine tablets (I think those help radiation sickness).
[editline]when[/editline]
Been hanging around waste sites or trudging through sewers?

The fact that your Night Vision apparently upgraded sounds like you might have been in radiation for too long, as was mentioned. Another possibility is that a previous injury was dirty/infected, but healed prior to you disinfecting/cauterizing it. Happened to me a few times, but the character in question didn't last long enough to tell if that does anything more than stopping you with a message about how a previously healed injury is hurting you.
I had not taken any damage at all up to that point, except for falling over a chain link fence. Didn't even draw blood. I did go through a hazardous waste sarcophagus briefly but didn't stop for long as there was nothing worth taking. I smashed a window, stole some batteries and then left again. Seems like I was irradiated from it though!

Anything notable about hazardous waste places? I have one on my map and I might want to check it outs also how does radiation work
Radiation works in the same way as it does real life - except currently it only attaches to the terrain and the player. Your body will slowly metabolize small amounts of rads over time, as it's used to doing just from... y'know existing. Large amounts of rads will stay for extended periods, and cause not only damage but also potentially mutations. That you got a flat upgrade from it is lucky, as random mutations tend to be nasty. The only way that I know of to cure radiation is via iodine tablets. You should never go anywhere there could be radiation without having first secured at least one spawn of iodine tablets - they come in groups of 10. Another incredibly useful survival tool when in irradiated environments is the rad badge, that you can wear to show off the accumulated rads. It goes from green to yellow to red, with red basically meaning 'holy shit bro run.' I highly suggest that before going on any trips to irradiated areas you get a few iodine tablets, a rad badge, and a Geiger counter.
You can also remove radiation with the radiation scrubber bionic, and there's also the radiogenic mutation, which makes small amounts of radiation benign. Also geiger counters can be used more reliably than a badge, but they need batteries.
Indeed, but if you're forgetful the rad badge is extremely useful as if it's worn it automatically alerts you in the message box when it changes colors. I basically always try to have a stack of useful electronics in my 'away gear' pile that includes stuff like a UPS and Geiger counter. I may not come across any irradiated areas, but if I do I'd like to have the tools I need to safely explore them.
Fun fact about the radiogenic mutation, after having a really bad roll with mutagen I ended up with Radiogentic and Very Radioactive along with regeneration from a previous roll. The result was that I was constantly irradiated but constantly healed over the damage, however, I still got sick and experienced well over 100 points of pain (and increasing) constantly. I couldn't carry anything because of the pain reduced my strength to fuck all and I couldn't eat or drink anything because I instantly vomited it out again but I had to keep eating to avoid starving to death.
I just gave up when the pain reached 200 points and I ran out of purifiers because the radiation kept giving me more mutations, including unstable genetics which increased the mutations even more. At the end I was just some constantly vomiting slimey thing with tentacles sprouting and vanishing every other minute that irradiated everything around it but couldn't die. Fun times.

That sounds like some "I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream" shit right here.
Health finally stopped dropping at the final red point of the dial, I gained disease resistant and a stubby tail, as well as puking my guts up for a while. I took the robust genetics trait as I wanted to try and find a shitload of mutagen and drink it! Seems I got lucky with the radiation, didn't get any negative perks at all and aside from a sharp drop in health I was fine. I think there was a rad badge IN the hazardous waste lab, might run back and get it when my health is high enough to not die again.

Things like that is why I love this game... :v:

They give rare CMB's when butchered and whip out a-ton-of-damage
They are eating that car, and then they are going to eat me OOOH MYYY GOOOODDDD

THEY ARE BLOCKING OFF MY ESACPE

Now I see how this shit caused the apocalypse

You are still highly irradiated. With a full radiation suit, I did a very quick run through of one of those places and still came out with like 60 rads. If you don't have any type of enviro-suit, going back in there will likely result in you becoming so irradiated you won't have enough medical supplies to survive.

How longs it take to go back to normal? I'm not being sick/losing HP anymore. I also got a radiation badge and put it on, but I guess it only tracks NEW radiation and not what is in me normally. Also will I be irradiating my base by chilling there? Might have to move out!
Radiation is tied to the environment and accumulates on you; they haven't implemented radiation on stuff like cars or items yet, or radiation spreading.
Rad badges are indeed designed to trigger on accumulated radiation; meaning it changes based on the radiation you gain after you put it on.
I'm not sure. I've always had iodine tablets which cut through rads pretty effectively. It's probably going to take a while to be sure you're cleaned out, the human body metabolizes radiation very very slowly. It's considerably faster - and less deadly if you're out of the 'body falling the fuck apart' stage - in Cataclysm, but I would probably wait a week or more if you don't have a Geiger counter available to check your rads periodically.
I still don't quite understand how blowing up a sarcophagus removes the radiation.
Edit: Chain Lightning.

You killed that sewer rat so hard it died 33 times.
You guys always post cool stories about puttin a V8 on a unicycle or something, but for me the game got really mundane. Every character I start is like
1. Start, make a crowbar and a knife in the shelter.
2. Casually stroll throught the nearest town while getting my melee skills to such perfection where it isn't even funny - usually 5 melee is enough to be safe 90% of the time.
3. Grind mechanics and fix a car
4. Drive around for some time, bored
5. Try to set myself a goal, but eventually quit
6. Die due to boredom and overconfidence
A few days ago I attempted to secure a Garage. Just couldn't get it boarded up in time and had to abandon a (empty) Wheelbarrow. Biggest mistake I've made yet was actually using a Wheelbarrow, Shopping Carts just don't cut it anymore. Granted things could die down a bit and I could try to get it back soon.
Also, for fun I made a guy with max attributes but low skills. You actually can still die pretty easily with 20 in all attributes but low skills, contrary to what people may think.

Wait isn't iodine radioactive
Wait isn't iodine radioactive
In real life, there are a couple major isotopes of iodine. The most common one, and the one we think of when we hear of iodine (potassium iodide) tablets, is a stable isotope - not radioactive. There are also radioactive isotopes of it - notably I-131, but others exist. I-131 is one of the things you might expect in nuclear fallout and such.
The thyroid gland is an absorber of iodine, or at least a place where a load of it is dumped. It is also radiosensitive - it's one of the areas you don't want irradiated, along with the gonads and other areas where rapid cell division happens.
When you expect to come into contact with radioactive iodine, which might be airborne and thus can be inhaled, you can take an iodine tablet, which will fill the thyroid with the safe isotope of iodine. Then any radioactive iodine will pass through the body, rather than being stored in the thyroid, where it can irradiate it. They can also be taken after. I don't know much of their efficacy, but I imagine they work well.
Also, does Cataclysm really use rads? That's shit if so. Let's use Gy for dose and Sv for absorbed effective equivalent like normal people do. Not actually bothered using a geiger counter or badge in it.

Try different things and give your characters a bit of actual character. I'm quite shit so merely surviving a few days is good enough for me but my current character is on day 7 and going strong. Going to try and clear out a town and slowly rebuild all the houses and stuff! Try going through a science lab that's always fun first try :)
