As you use them. Possibly as you hit specifically, but not sure.
Jesus, the flintlock carbine is much more devastating than you might think. It ain't really good at range but up close (like a tile away) it's pretty much a shotgun. [editline]26th November 2014[/editline] Haha, I can't believe I'll be able to clear the town so early. Got a shitton of good guns and ammo, and I can save up a bit by shooting from up-close and then cherry-tapping the zombies with my combat knife. Using mainly my flintlock carbine for lone zombies, a small sub-machinegun for weak groups of targets and a Saiga should any "OH SHIT" situation arise.
Oh, okay, so [sp]tankbots[/sp] is a thing now? Roaming the countryside with fucking [sp]long range missile batteries[/sp]? That's alright, living's for nerds anyway!
It'd be neat if the tankbot was an actual vehicle with AI.
Yeah, my time is spent in a city only to build the skills necessary to build a dethmobile. Right now I have a electrical wooden cart-cycle with LMG turrets. If any of you dislike the tank-bot you can edit its entry to nerf/remove-it, its called 'mon_tankbot' inside Data\Json\Monsters.json
I only ever wonder into the city if I want to grab some more steel from cars, or electronics from arcade machines, batteries from hardware stores. or I'm tight for fuel in my car/gen Or I wanna grab a shopping cart to use as a base for a mobile generator. Or I need to grab another Acetylene Torch or something specific. Most of my time is spent living in a dense forest living off the wildlife, stocking up on rain water and generally doing day to day tasks like reading, or building, or experimenting with various things to see if I can improve stuff. I never take my main survival van into cities though. I always build a quad with a trunk on the rear to transport stuff. Although now that you can run two engines seperately. Hybrids make it easier to cruise through a town unnoticed to a degree due to the sheerly low noise a Electric motor makes.
It'd be neat if the tankbot was an actual vehicle with AI.
Temporarily disable it with an EMP, do some hot-wiring, and you've got yourself a badass mech suit.
Temporarily disable it with an EMP, do some hot-wiring, and you've got yourself a badass mech suit.
Actual thing or just something you'd like to see?
Actual thing or just something you'd like to see?
It's a deep, honest wish.
Is there any up-to-date documentation for making and editing tilesets? Most of the stuff I've come across seems to be a few versions out of date
It's a deep, honest wish.
The tankbot drops a disabled version of itself when killed, its possible to add a recipe that uses it to craft some-sort of mech suit similar to the RM-13. Dunno wich abilities to give it tough, the RM13 is incredibly powerfull so a mechsuit would be beyond overpowered. Maybe allow it to be disassembled and slap the cannon on to your car.
Heh, for once a Mi-go actually got me. Having world with NPC's really makes a difference when Mi-go's talk. I heard talking, turn on my flash light and saw 2 Mi-go's. At that moment I knew I fucked up. [editline]27th November 2014[/editline] What the fuck this is the first time i've ever seen [sp]zombie dancers[/sp]

Judging from my very, very brief encounter with it, I'd say that getting a small metal gear is a decent reward for managing to disable it without destroying it. That's also assuming one would need high skills in computers and mechanics to be able to reprogram it. But that's all just an unlikely pipe dream though.
Can anyone explain why my joints ache? My character can't even sleep properly because of this problem and it gives him almost 40 pain.
Can anyone explain why my joints ache? My character can't even sleep properly because of this problem and it gives him almost 40 pain.
Do you have any defective CBMs installed? I think that might be it. Or did you perhaps mutate into a senior citizen?
Do you have any defective CBMs installed? I think that might be it. Or did you perhaps mutate into a senior citizen?
The latter seems more probable, since I have no CBMs. But I think I figured it out, eating uncooked food will give you parasites.
I think that having extremely powerful enemies like the tankbot keeps you humble. There's always a bigger fish, and it's actually an achievement to be able to destroy one.
It's kind of a problem that they can kill you long before you even have a chance to get away, or sometimes even before you know they're there, though. I've tried multiple times just walking around at night, quietly looting some houses while avoiding zombies, that I just out of nowhere exploded because some turret or tankbot from way outside my vision range shot me in the face.
The latter seems more probable, since I have no CBMs. But I think I figured it out, eating uncooked food will give you parasites.
Ah, yes, didn't think of that. In any case; stay away from geezer serums, they only give you negative mutations like Bad hearing and Forgetful :v:
Can anyone explain why my joints ache? My character can't even sleep properly because of this problem and it gives him almost 40 pain.
Stop snorting cocaine man.
Holy shit the game is now pretty fucking hard. (And i love the challange) Also playing with bow vs skeletons.jpg Having 0 skill in melee and running into a corner skeleton is a horrible horrible way to go...
I think Tankbots, as well as other motorized AI death machines should be full-sized vehicles that act on their own. This is so that if they add stealth, you MIGHT be able to sneak into a tank bot and shut the fucker down. All new levels of 'fun'
Does anyone know any good starting setups? I heard something about ninjitsu being good?
Does anyone know any good starting setups? I heard something about ninjitsu being good?
Balanced stats like 8 8 8 8 Perks: Quick - a universal must have. Helps with running, combat, dodging, anything. Animal Empathy - if you get killed by animals a lot, but not nececary. Silent step Nightvision - always useful because you will be looting at night a lot. Potentially evolves into full nightvision with mutations, which is god-tier. Skills: 1 dodge - not nececary, but helps a lot 1 archery Bow hunter profession That's pretty much it. Bowery is OP, you just have to pratice by shooting sticks at things until you get to level 3 in archery. Then with a good bow and some arrows you can deal with 90% encounters and quick helps to get away from the rest. If you take a molotov with you at all times then you are pretty much safe. In general if you have Quick, over 7 str, over 7 per then you are guaranteed to start well. 8 per because that's the borderline beyound which you can't see minefields and will get smeared all over the hills (seems improbable but I can't tell how many times I have lost characters due to this). [editline]29th November 2014[/editline] And if you want martial arts then go for taekwondo. It's op. Taekwondo focuses on blocking. You can literally be surrounded by zombies and not take damage for over 10 turns. You block every zombie hit. It slowly causes pain, but nothing compared to getting hit. The fun times were when I got into the game files (json ones) and took a look at martial arts. It's very easy to modify them, so I created a new martial art. I took Tiger style as base and added perks from other martial arts, various bonuses. The outcome was amazing.
-I created a new martial art. I took Tiger style as base and added perks from other martial arts, various bonuses. You should make a Jackie Chan inspired martial art: Encumberment gives you block and/or dodge percentage, the amount of tools you carry affects overall damage. If you are wielding something valuable and fragile, or a baby [sp](misshapen fetus)[/sp] those modifiers gets doubled :v:
Can anyone explain why my joints ache? If you're getting a huge dex(-4 i think) penalty it's probably tetanus.
Have you been cutting yourself on metal rubble or broken windows? I think it's Tetanus. If you're getting a huge dex(-4 i think) penalty it's probably tetanus.
Now the question is how you are going to treat it. Hospitals are rare and usually filled with zombies, assuming that you can find tetanus shots there. How are you going to deal with the zombies when your dexterity is debuffed to shit like that?

Have anyone tried out the Locked lab "Challenge"? I might've been lucky, but I shanked my way out of there with a screwdriver in less than a day :I
Have anyone tried out the Locked lab "Challenge"? I might've been lucky, but I shanked my way out of there with a screwdriver in less than a day :I
Wait, so there's a way out?
Wait, so there's a way out?
Teleporter, baby!
Teleporters dont go z-levels iirc. unless you lucked out and tped into a nearby sewer.
Teleporters dont go z-levels iirc. unless you lucked out and tped into a nearby sewer.
Nah, I just went to the surface and teleported through the walls. Does it usually remove the surface access/stairs in this scenario?
