Oh my God I swear it is impossible to find a scabbard or a book that lets me craft one. As a melee based character that makes life annoying.

Hmm, last build I played was the 0.A stable. Seeing that 0.B is out with lotsa new features i'm going to try it out. I'm hoping I'll be able to get into it, on my last character things got a bit slow when I had an armored base (found one of those houses with a metal door room with a fireplace inside), a roaming hybrid vehicle with everything I needed I used to raid labs, bases and other towns, a small farm, tons of traps, ridiculous skills, weapons, etc... All these things make it hard to start over. Anyone got any landmark points to look forward to when I'm playing?
I did my normal min/maxed bow user start and it went mostly the same as before. After she got killed by a skeleton dog, I rage-deleted the world and made a new one a couple days later. I've had way more fun with my Assault on Precinct Z scenario detective, especially since I decided to live out at a gas pump off the road in the woods instead of just taking over a house. Took me forever to find a hotplate though, which sucked. Speaking of hotplates, I found an RV and took its kitchen unit. Which was great, except I had already made one. Does anyone know how to disassemble the fucker without having to pick it up? Because I tried that already and I ended up with over 40 pain before I stopped the disassembly.

We just need a ton more scenarios!
You can actually make your own pretty easily, from what I was reading in the update thread. They're planning on adding more of course, but if you'd like to see something in particular you can make it yourself now instead of hoping it gets added.
Is it just me or is the mall cop scenario broken? I get a debug code when the world is generated and it just spawns me in the middle of nowhere.
Is it just me or is the mall cop scenario broken? I get a debug code when the world is generated and it just spawns me in the middle of nowhere.
It did that to me when I tried the lab scenario as well
It did that to me when I tried the lab scenario as well
Labs cannot be done if the classic zombies is enabled in world gen. Also the mall cop is broken if one is not spawned in the area of your gen, or if classic zombies are enabled also if I recall.
Libraries, man. Raid every single one you find. Finally died from being too close to my own makeshift flamethrower unfortunately before I could search more.
Are dynamic NPC's more fun than static? I've gone through a whole year without seeing a single person.
I always have dynamic NPCs on. There's nothing quite like being shot in the stomach and left for dead, then finding the same guy a few days later and burning him alive.

Bad luck?
Shit, is skill rust saved on a per-world basis or can you change it mid-game?
I think it's a global setting? I'm not 100% on that though, you can check by generating a new world and seeing what settings are available to change during that generation. You can probably change it in a world settings file if it's world based anyway. [editline]1st December 2014[/editline] Looking at my world file, it looks like if it's not global then you can't change it mid-game. But it's likely global.
Odd, I generated like 3 different worlds with default options. Bad luck?
I'd say bad luck then. Also Skill rust if set via the debug in options. It is used as default regardless of world or Character. Providing it was made AFTER setting the Skill rust to what you desire.
Anyone got a good playlist of songs to play during a Cataclysm session?
Anyone got a good playlist of songs to play during a Cataclysm session?
Really depends on your taste, personally I prefer listening to Sunn O))), I think it makes great ambiance for a post apocalyptic situation like that, but I have heard of people who listen to cheesy light hearted electronic music while playing calling that fitting.
Anyone got a good playlist of songs to play during a Cataclysm session?
I just recently discovered this one: It's more or less the type of eerie ambient I associate with Cataclysm. But, as NeverGoWest said: It really depends, most of the time I just listen to Franz Ferdinand or Daft Punk or something while I play.
Im just waiting for them to realease more documentation/improve the music system so I can add fallout ambience to it, already got all the files extracted and sorted.
Huh, I just found a spooky déjà vu bug... I was wandering through an almost cleared town when suddenly, my torso was sprayed down the streed due to a materiell turret related incident. I promptly rage-quitted and closed the window without moving past the tombstone box. Later, when I started the game again, I still had the character save, so I loaded it. But as I played, I noticed some things weren't where I remembered them to be, and others where missing. So I retraced my steps, and found my corpse, with (probably) all my equipment, and the stuff that I found before my death that's missing from their original places. I don't know if this bug is new or was present in the other versions, I've never encountered that déjà vu effect before. Weird stuff, I'll just chalk all that up as a space-time anomaly and continue playing with this character... [sp]Seriously! These military roadblock/checkpoints are borderline unfair, but then again; such is life in the zone[/sp]
Yeah it's a shame you can't scout out enemies with binoculars. Tankbots just tear you apart with one turn. And you be able to see them at night, which means needing to walk into them.
I'm kind of concerned with the addition of all these near one shot kill enemies. Zombie dogs were bad enough, but at least they don't have a ranged attack. Where do the tanks spawn? I'd like to avoid them.
Forums have said road barricades. I've seen one right next to a mall, but I'm not sure if that's bad luck or an actual spawn zone.

All the speed, damage, and threat of deep wounds from a dog with all the near-immunity to missiles that skeletons have. On the up side, they can't smash. So if you can get inside before they get to you, you're safe if you close everything. Gives you enough time to drop everything and grab a blunt weapon.

It's especially good when you have way too much stuff on you and can't afford to drop stuff.
Forums have said road barricades. I've seen one right next to a mall, but I'm not sure if that's bad luck or an actual spawn zone.
I've only seen 3 barricades so far. 2 of them had tankbots, they were placed on a long stretch of road. The 3rd one had 50cal turrets and was place in the middle of an intersection in a town. Maybe there's a difference between "urban" roadblocks and the other ones? I noticed zombie cops by the urban one, while I saw army zombies with the tankbot. Anyway, they should have something like a speaker spewing pre-recorded messages like "clear the perimeter! Hostiles will be shot" to warn civillians (and players).
Whenever they add in mob in-fighting and hopefully NPC classes (never) I'm hoping to have games where I get to see bandits fighting electric zombie hulks being shot by tankbots being smashed by fungaloids being flamethrowered by hazmat soldiers being eaten by horrifying Eldritch rift monsters.
I just want enemies to have proper hit locations and pain simulation. It'll make downing zombies early a bitch if you can't target specific parts, but it'll make NPCs a lot more interesting.
