I found a basement completely taken over by giant black widow spiders. The normal basement loot was largely crap aside from some electronics to disassemble, but holy shit did I end up with a lot of meat. Over 200 chunks of spider meat, and over 50 spider eggs from the egg sacks. About 30 chunks of chitin too. Ordinarily I don't really care about the meat I pick up, because I can always hunt down some squirrels or whatever, but with this much to deal with I'm going to dry to preserve as much of it as I can. I've already got 18 sausage (3 chunks used each) and 16 dehydrated meat, and I haven't even gotten to the shit in my mini-fridge. [editline]5th December 2014[/editline] Update: Been cooking for three days. Still have 200 chunks of meat. Send charcoal. And chunks of fat, I want more sausages. [editline]5th December 2014[/editline] Second update: Just had to dump 62 chunks of meat. Even in the mini-fridge, the heat of Summer hurt their lifespan too much. RIP roughly 15 giant spiders worth of meat. Final total preserved meat counts: 88 dehydrated, 134 smoked meat, 18 sausages (3 chunks per sausage, 54 chunks total) All totaled, that's 276 chunks that went towards preservation. Including roughly 15 cooked chunks for food during and the stuff that went bad, that basement gave me 352 chunks of meat. Who needs hunting?
With the addition of holsters and scabbards, is there any container for larger weapons like rifles and such? Cause I'm currently lugging around a boltdriver and a one-shot-wonder heavy crossbow for those big, nasty monsters. If not, a leather strap weapons mod making weapons wearable would be neat.
It's not in stable, but the experimental currently has it:
You can now craft shoulder straps to attach to your weapons as accessories, and then wear them over your back. Only unfortunate bit is that you cannot attach them to bows.
So rifles, including the crossbows, good to go. Bows currently not able to be worn in any way,
Do you know if- and how the straps calculate encumberment? Does it have a flat number or does it depend on the size of the weapon? Also, bows should be wearable by default in my opinion, I mean, you can just strap it over your shoulder or chest.

They've added blaze's turret mod to the game now.

I did. I ended up making like 90 charcoal like that just to smoke meat with, on top of the stuff I already had. I just ran out of time before it rotted.
Wow I killed a zombie and it was carrying a 30 gallon drum barrel. A zombie was walking around literally trying to hit me with a huge drum barrel :v:
Wow I killed a zombie and it was carrying a 30 gallon drum barrel. I'm not sure which is funnier.
Do automated gas station sell diesel? Also, how does damage reduction (both personal armor and vehicle armor) work? Is it a damage threshold or is it a percentage damage reduction? I just found an APC and I was wondering if it's completely immune to normal zombie damage.
Damage reduction seems to be flat, judging by the extreme amount of attacks I've had absorbed. Technically it's always been flat I think, or some variation of flat + percentage with diminishing returns. They reworked it all in between 0.A and 0.B but it seems to be completely flat now, which makes reinforced heavy clothing/light armor really valuable for most uses. Are you asking if you can somehow get them to sell diesel, or are you asking so you know if you need to find one? Because I live beside one, but I haven't gotten to the point where I've needed to pump anything. I don't recall seeing any options for diesel specifically, so if you've got one but can't figure out how to get it to pump diesel you probably can't.
Are there any guides to making mine immune vehicles? I use normal frames and quaterpanels + military composite armor and armored wheels, but everytime I accidentally get caught in a mine field my vehicle just gets fucked.
Do automated gas station sell diesel?
If you need diesel I'm pretty sure most mines have a diesel pump above ground.
Gas Stations in Experimentals usually are one or the other. It varies station to station. Although I have had a station that has had pumps for both.

And I'm not sure which is strongest, but I think either composite or hard plating are some of the stronges armour. Alternatively, I'd try to keep on the road as much as possible, it's easier to notice minefields there.
I found a camera. I am now Frank West.
Fronk Wost.
Fr@nk West
he's covered w@rs you know
Well, that fucking does it. My next character is Fr@nk W@st. Starts in a mall, master Journalist, exceptionally low Int for someone who's supposed to uncover scoops, absurdly strong otherwise, accidentally kills every NPC he encounters in an ironic fashion.

I'm currently scavenging parts for a chainsaw lajatang :v: Also: your only means of transportation should be a golfcart, bristling with blades and spikes.
I've been playing this game for years and I still haven't managed to survive for more than two weeks. I always die in the most random way possible. This morning I just got out an evac shelter and fell in a sinkhole. Why.

That's why I feel like it's straight-up suicide not to have 10 perception on every single character I make.
Damn, that's unlucky. That's why I feel like it's straight-up suicide not to have 10 perception on every single character I make.
I literally cannot play without Classic Zombies. If i try to play normally i get all kinds of monsters (special zombies if i'm in a town or mi-gos if I'm in a forest) constantly. Which is weird because I hardly make any noise - i never break windows or doors, and always get outside of town after I loot my first house.

If you really want to get technical, you can change the spawn rates of the really crusty enemies in the .jsons.
Damn, that's unlucky. That's why I feel like it's straight-up suicide not to have 10 perception on every single character I make.
My current character have made it pretty far with only 4 perception so far. Whether it's due to clever distribution of skillpoints or obscenely good luck is anyones guess though.

If you really want to get technical, you can change the spawn rates of the really crusty enemies in the .jsons.
What's the difference between that and classic zombies? Anyway I kinda feel like it's cheating, but it's practically insane - even with dynamic spawns. It's also true that I use very little points on my stat, maybe it's caused by that? I don't like using 'free traits' like ugly or truth teller.

Classic zombies removes all the exotic creatures, from Krecks to Zombie Hulks to Dark Wyrms.
Decided to give the game a shot. It's pretty fun, but confusing as all hell. I started out in the shelter, went into the basement, killed all the zombies with my fists and somehow survived, found a bunch of supplies, went outside, found a car that worked but had no wheels, and then a shocker zombie killed me :(
