Is it common to run into a tank drone in the alleys between houses
Is it common to run into a tank drone in the alleys between houses
Oh boy do I have the product for you! http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1262384&p=46680509#post46680509 In all seriousness though, I think they can spawn pretty much anywhere. At least wherever military blockades can spawn, i.e. roads.
Peeked out of the curtains right before going to sleep for the night and saw a shocker brute standing RIGHT BY THE WINDOW. I ran out of the back door and now daren't return home. Not without some sort of powerful firearm...
Molotovs will solve a surprising amount of problems. Raid a liquor store and make about 10 of them, grab a fire extinguisher just in case, and try to lure it a little ways away from your house before you firebomb it. Make sure to watch its health instead of just lobbing all of them at once, there's no reason to waste them. I say 10, but you probably won't use more than 3 at most. Fire is REALLY effective.
I don't really like the new "hide in the dark" mechanic, at least as it is now. I can literally just go around a corner and the zombies seem to instantly forget I'm there. It would be fine if they would at least search for me but as it is now it's just to easy.

Whenever I enter a basement infested with spiders, I set it on fire. It's fun to watch it burn.
I just murder them with lots of arrows. You get a shit load of meat out of those basements if you can survive them, plenty of materials to make smoked spider meat or spider sausages or jerky. Plus the chitin is nice, it's a lot harder to come by nowadays there aren't a billion spiders everywhere.
Seems there's no option to install the gun, and you cant fire it (Or maybe i just don't have enough skill)?
I ended up finding a mobile gun system with a 120mm cannon on it. Apparently to fire them you just have to treat it like any automated turret.

As soon as you get out of sight range they genuinely do just stop chasing you, unless you make one HELL of a racket. Not seen acid rain in aaaaages, I guess they disabled it? It was good fun taking cover indoors while everything else got melted.

Unlucky i guess
Not seen acid rain in aaaaages, I guess they disabled it? It was good fun taking cover indoors while everything else got melted.
It was also really useful because you could collect acid with a funnel and a container then use it to make batteries.
Not seen acid rain in aaaaages, I guess they disabled it? And destroying practically anything that wasn't a building.
It was disabled a good while ago due to complaints of it acting like........ acid. And destroying practically anything that wasn't a building.
A tragic shame I can't re-enable it in the options. I enjoyed acid rain, it'd always come along right as I DIDN'T need it to and wreck all my plans - but at least it killed everything else!
I miss acid rain.
It was disabled a good while ago due to complaints of it acting like........ acid. I don't remember if they've finished it entirely, but acid rain is not supposed to be everywhere. Only near shit like portals.
One thing about weather I want is actual snow cover that impairs creature and player movement along with hiding smaller items on the ground.
One thing about weather I want is actual snow cover that impairs creature and player movement along with hiding smaller items on the ground.
Making stuff out of snow would be cool too. Like it should be feasible to make a little igloo even with 0 construction skill.
Making stuff out of snow would be cool too. Now you have to contend with figuring out a way to get your mobile home through all those snow banks, and you'll have to dig to get into buildings!
Just what I want, even more vehicular sliding!
Ya know, this got me thinking. It would be pretty awesome if the game incorporated trains and train tracks.
One thing about weather I want is actual snow cover that impairs creature and player movement along with hiding smaller items on the ground.
That would make a cool mechanic to incorporate a snow based cataclysm like extreme hail, aliens from puto or snow storm zombies instead of smokers. Maybe even have zombies pop from the ground like worms do.
Ya know, this got me thinking. Plus it would get tedious pretty fast if the track was ever blocked.

Then there would be a 10-step recipe for train tracks and 50 tools required to lay tracks (there would be an train-track augmentation that would replace your arms and legs with tools for track creation, 0.0001 chance to loot it from the special train track zombie).

I think that while it would certainly be cool, a rail system would probably not add much to the gameplay other than being able to travel on a train. If there were areas of the map that had unique properties that meant you needed to constantly revisit them then maybe it'd be useful to have a rail going from your base to the area. As it stands water is too easy to come by and even food is generally not a problem - so there's not really any reason you'd want to split your base into two parts. Maybe if you had an NPC system that worked and you could assign rooms to NPCs it might be handy then to ship them to your secret fort in the woods.

Woah, since when could you place a knife in combat boots? [editline]12th August 2015[/editline] Also pipe shotgun requires two scrap metal, but you can make a sawn off which will give you three. [editline]12th August 2015[/editline] Speaking of sawn offs, which kind of holsters will fit them? Just the back holster?
Are shotguns still completely useless or have they been improved since the years ago I last used one. I'd be so happy if they dealt a massive chunk of damage and sent whatever you shot flying backwards.

Like, I used to alway keep a sawn off double barrel on me while travelling to kill shit like the overpowered, super fast, overbuffed, neigh unkillable creatures that are endemic to this clusterfuck of an overgrown mod.
Last time I played, shotguns were situational but extremely effective. Definitely not worth sinking points into, though.
