Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead - FUCK NO SPORTING GOODS STORES

That sounds pretty sick.
man, this game just gets better and better, deeper and deeper, and its sad it doesnt have that big of a following, considering it fills a huge demand in the game market.
Whenever I get into this game I can never get a successful character. I always end up dying to a hulk early on or something.

Fire is your friend. If you're truly struggling one of my favorite techniques is to rush into a city and get guns ASAP. Shotguns especially. If you see a city with a liquor store for molotovs or wide residential areas, skirt the outside edge of the entire city during the day, and go in during the night. Night Vision is one of the best starting perks and is extremely cheap. And don't forget you can burn bushes with matches to damage and slow zombies if you really need them dead.
The latest experimentals NPC quest lines were greatly improved, tough don't quite know if this was done recently since I never really bothered with them until now.
The quest line for the refugee center for example leads to NPCs establishing an outpost on a nearby farm, complete with NPCs you can hire, doctor to heal you and an NPC selling land you can buy and them pay them to farm it for you and a bar. You can also put your companions to work receiving money for it.
All of this is done in steps by the way, by completing quests for the foreman in the ranch new buildings get built together with the NPC staffing them.
NPC's also acknowledge you as a US Marshall if you do the quest line for the Old Guard, NPCs are really starting to look good now can't wait for what happens next.
I have waited 3 years for this.

Someone on the same page tried it and apparently loading the world while a vehicle is floating on water drowns it.

Cataclysm DDA: Where has the time gone?
Aluminum kegs are a magical thing. More so if you have a local pool or river where you can actually fill it up all the way.
I think zombie soldiers got a buff, used to be able to kill them no problem but now I can't pen their armor with a combat knife.
With a 10 12 11 9 scoundrel with eskrima and quick you get a huge boon in combat, not terrible wipe out all zombies in a single turn huge, but enough that anyone competent enough could easily fend off 3 or 4 zombies, to add to that, training throwing and crafting a sling makes for what I would consider rather overpowered combat, you can easily take down a moose with the switchblade you get from your profession, too. But yeah armored zombies seem to be a bit tougher, for that I like a good molotov cocktail or twenty, generally slings, knives and molotovs makes for a pretty deadly character.
Did you guys hear that Wales abandoned Cataclysm 2?
Due to "all the strain when writing a game".

He was working on Cata 2 as of a year ago or so. You're thinking of when he stopped working on Cata 1, which evolved into DDA.
It's a shame but I'm not terribly surprised.
Boy, I should get into C:DDA again. Especially at work, turn based stuff like this is handy when you gotta answer phones.
