I've taken prussian blue tablets and scanned myself with a geiger. 0 radiation :v:
Sometimes I just take Robust Genetics, find a nuclear waste site, and then just roll around in the irradiated water and see what mutations I get.
Cataclysm DDA: Casually swimming in nuclear waste

I got like a billion percent lucky a few days ago. I went out on a loot run and got cocky, ended up pulling multiple shocker brutes and a necromancer - plus some other mostly trash enemies - and went down to 3 - out of 69 - torso health at one point and a huge amount of pain. I managed to get a first aid kit usage on my chest despite being attacked through it just due to my sheer amount of armor since the brutes weren't up, then charge through and take out the necromancer. I ended up using like 6 first aid kit charges immediately after I finished the fight just to be sure I wouldn't be in the deep red if something else decided to show up. I was so upset looking at my health total since this character had gotten pretty nasty, and decided to go for the long shot FAK and hoping my armor held. I've never run a nearly full melee character without first finding power armor early, and I have to say she's become ridiculous in a fight. Two-shotting regular brutes, insta-pulping most dogs, tons of CBMs, very very rarely misses in melee despite 49 torso encumbrance. 8 in piercing weapons and melee both give a ridiculous amount of damage potential against enemies you can kite, either normally or via running. She even has an adrenaline amp CBM in case I need more speed and damage to deal with nasty enemies.
Holy shit, how can you even hit anything with that much encumbrance. I thought 1 point of encumbrance negated 1 skill point?
Nope. Hasn't been like that for a while, encumbrance now affects hit percentage. That's -49% hit chance, but I've got such a ridiculously high accuracy it doesn't matter. [editline]20th March 2016[/editline] They also moved back to a 10-point scale
Is that in 0.C or experimental?
Experimental. Encumberance is now more "fine tuned" for items this way
I kind of like the new way better, the old system made it literally detrimental to really wear any armor. Most guides I remember reading would outright suggest that one of the first things you do was swap your pants with the first dress you could find because of the lack of encumbrance and going naked gave you a mood penalty.
There should a naturalist perk that gives positive bonuses for being naked/wearing homemade clothes
I would love a perk that allows you to wear more or less in extreme temperatures.
I wonder how hard it is to add custom perks. I can't imagine it'd be much more complex than dwarf fortress modding. A "warmblooded" perk would be neat (more resilient to wider temperature extremes), "companion" (stat boost for having a follower) or "needy" (morale penalty for NOT having a follower) [editline]21st March 2016[/editline] "Gunfreak" - small morale boost for using firearms. I love the smell of napalm in the morning
Does anyone know how to ferment vinegar? It says it ferments after a few days of being in a vat but I can't find any sort of vat and a still doesn't work.
You have to build a fermenting vat from the construction menu.
How does attaching funnels to vehicles work? I have a clean water tank on my truck and I used the vehicle menu to place a funnel on the same tile. I assumed this would work but it doesn't. Is it because rainwater isn't "clean"?

It will collect just fine into a dirty water tank, then can be converted via FoodCo Kitchen Buddy internally or taken out and manually done in other ways.
Wasn't rain water usually clean? I used to collect it asap with a funnel chug it as much as I want. New experimental version and my character is vomiting everywhere
Rainwater was always considered "dirty", it's just that it had a much lower chance to make you sick than, say, pool or toilet water. I guess they raised the chances just for rainwater, to make it more "challenging".
I honestly I always found retarded the fact that as soon as you'd wear a backpack you wouldn't hit anything with a melee weapon, I'm happy they're tuning encumbrance.

The definition of "well rested" is weird sometimes. My guy keeps sleeping for 4-5 hours before waking up and feeling "well rested". Also the foodco buddy doesn't seem to work as intended unless I'm missing something. Several recipes want specific tools or stations rather than just a general "tool with food dehydrating 1". [editline]24th March 2016[/editline] Never mind, I'm just an idiot.
Zombies decided to throw a party in the house across the street from where I am hiding for the day. [img]https://i.gyazo.com/4925f3aa736ebf67819839940c55dded.png[/img] Their "crash!!!" and "KERBLAM" keep inerrupting my rag diassembling!
I scouted a military bunker to find the turrets had killed 3/4ths of the zombies inside the compound, the remaining zombies killing the turrets, and one of the zombies eventually causing an explosion and subsequent fire inside the bunker killing the rest of the zombies inside.
[QUOTE=Ghost656;49990539]Wasn't rain water usually clean? I used to collect it asap with a funnel chug it as much as I want. New experimental version and my character is vomiting everywhere[/QUOTE] I've drank 15L of rainwater and haven't gotten sick yet

I once killed like 20 zombie children chained inside a park with a really well placed molotov :v:
I think zombies lost their super scent. Earlier when I went to sleep in a house in the city I would find 30+ zombies around the house later. Now I can safely rest in houses. Surviving in the megacity is not that hard.
The game has become ludicrously easy at the moment, at least on my game. But I have noticed that I don't get waken up 10x a night by wandering/following zombies anymore. Anyway I've found a CBM that uses power to protect me from damage and successfully installed it and I broke into a bank vault and found a Probability Travel CBM. I guess I should look into breaking into some labs now, then [editline]26th March 2016[/editline] Will slugs take out turrets in Labs or should I try to find an assault rifle or explosives
[QUOTE=Kylel999;50009123] Will slugs take out turrets in Labs or should I try to find an assault rifle or explosives[/QUOTE] You can even take them out by throwing enough books at them, as long as you can hit it. If it can't see you you can take as many potshots at it as you want without much risk.
