Just a little update that only 3 people so far have entered to compete in the top 10.
I'm getting lost making my level because I jump back and forth between level and sub-level repeatedly through it. It better be worth it.

[B]Problematic Pests[/B] EAC6-0000-0035-EB63 I'm done, it's 5:20am and there's a thunderstorm going on outside. It's not meant to be a particularly hard stage, just a bit of a ghost house exploration, albeit mostly linear. There's only one "hard" jump and the punishment is trying again.
So many fucking awful levels in expert. Unavoidable deaths from enemies that fall from the sky, bullet hell in the clown car, and what's so, so shit is that you can't downvote levels. Even commenting on them, to warn people that they're bullshit and should be avoided AUTOMATICALLY STARS THEM. WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY ASSUME THAT BECAUSE I DECIDED TO COMMENT I LIKED THE LEVEL.
Why would anyone ever want to say something negative about a level? Why would anyone ever make a level that needs to have negative things said about it? People can just judge levels based on how many good things said about them, yeaaaaah :what:
Japan must have a really high concentration of sadists or something, every single level with a low ceiling and falling Goombas immediately has a Japanese name. Reliably.
Okay what the fuck. I made a stupid joke the other day and I wasn't going to post it because it's just something goofy. I found out it has a 47.82% completion rating though. People are dying on this level a whole lot A64C-0000-0032-C0F8 It is literally just a line with [SUBLIMINAL MARKETING] in it and like 2 enemies. How is this dumb bad level killing anything
Made one more level, tried messing around with sub-worlds. Give it a shot if you want. A02F-0000-0036-A7A2 How many stars do you need to increase the upload limit?
Ok guys, here's the hardest level I could muster, in collaboration with my brother. I feel like I did some pretty creative things with it. 6A85-0000-0036-E19C It's not a bullet hell, it's not autoscroll, and there's definitely nothing that can kill you that you couldn't have already seen coming. I wanted it to be very hard but still fair.

Will dive back into it and see what I can do to spruce it up or make another one, eyes are still a little sore from counting every block I put down :v:

If so, awesome, too bad I don't own a Wii U for playing it.

In my own bias I foresee myself making a lot of SMB3 levels. It's my favourite tileset.
It's a shame that there isn't many levels being made with the SMB3 style. It's all SMB and NSMBU. From what I have been seeing anyway. You know...that may be because people haven't unlocked the other 2 styles yet.
Bowser's AI also acts different depending on the game set you use.

So my level 19D4-0000-002D-F98F has a stupidly low completion rate, which I'm really confused over since it's not that hard. The one hard bit is the pipe part where you need to bounce on 3 bullets to get up, if you miss it the first time then go back and trigger the bullet bill firing things again. The level is effectively about using bullet bills to platform, I thought it was fun. Do the vast majority of players just suck or something? I also like to use SMB because it's interesting to limit players to being unable to walljump or duck which was extremely helpful in designing one of my levels.
Completed my first level for Super Mario Maker. Decided to get creative with the airship tileset possibilities. Tried to keep the difficulty fair and comparable to SMB3's middle worlds.

It's a shame I can't make beating a boss a win condition. I have to get creative and make it so the only way to get to the goal is to jack BJ' clown car.
I think that's how they did it in one of the sample stages. :v:

How exactly does someone make a sub-level. The game says I've unlocked everything but I still can't find how to do that. Also I found the fly squatting minigame from Mario Paint by accident. It was a nice distraction for a few minutes.
I just made one more fairly simple level. It's an auto-scrolling level and I tried to make it mimic a Mario 3 Airship level. I'm not entirely sure how well I did with this one. Also I'm not going to ask for stars, but I'd appreciate it if you star'd it if you like it. Raid Bowser's Airship: F271-0000-0039-88F8 If you have any suggestions on how I can improve the level I'd appreciate them because I want to make the level as good as I can.
It'd be great if we could drag a drop a question mark block on an enemy to make it drop the item inside on death. Would make designing bosses so much easier.
