made a serious little map
C522-0000-0048-8716
there's a handful of hidden things, including 3 1-ups (2 are easy for sake of helping 100-mario runners), a feather and a star (right under your nose but hard to get), and a few random coin blocks. Once you know the ending and have that feather you can easily skip bowser, but the little fight with him is fun. Hopefully the solution to fighting him without things to throw is easy enough to figure out
I just made a new level, was wondering what people thought of it.

[SP] Just to let you all know, there's bullet bills, lots of them. [/SP]
For anyone that wants to try it, I created a level called "Castle Cheep Cheep." I think I should provide a fair warning, it isn't simple. I attempt to endow each one of my levels with a certain amount of authenticity when it comes to layout and presentation; I'm not particularly taken by Kaizo-inspired seas of floating blocks and spikes.

Played and beat your level.

Not a fan of this level, sorry man. Water level and spikes everywhere aren't fun to play on.
Made a new level, Wario's Haunted Graveyard.

This is my first serious level, would be cool to get some feedback on it.
Fuckkkkkkk NOW then game lets me know I can only have 8 warp pipes. An hour into making this badass multi layered nonlinear multiple exit super level. Now I have to basically scrap the whole thing.
Can't you just make a sublevel and put 8 more there?
I just tweaked 2 of my stages a little bit where I saw people had died the most so I decided to re-upload them. I haven't had great luck with getting stars so I'd really appreciate it if someone could play my level, and tell me if anything in either of these needs changing.
Underwater Chaos V1.1
5DC2-0000-0049-6153
Raid Bowser's Airship V1.1
1652-0000-0044-CAE4
With the new level I made, I learned two things.
1) There is a hard coded block/platform limit with the enemy limit.
2) Unlocking things takes a really long time.
I was just thinking of ideas of what to do when different packs kept showering on me and I took an hour and a half to make that beauty I have up there.
I really like when people make levels that are creative and hard, not like every fucking expert Japan level.

Airship level. I wish I could've made this with SMB3 tileset but, I find that it's completely outdone by some of the other tilesets.
It's so weird seeing classic Mario games in 60fps. I don't know if that's the main reason why it looks just subtly different, but it's nice that I can easily tell when something's a romhack and when something's a MM level.
Made a ghosthouse level using the super mario bros 3 tileset:

Except the NES and SNES were also 60fps to begin with (barring some superintensive games like Star Fox and Stunt Race FX and when slowdown happened. Yoshi's Island is a peculiar case where it runs at 60fps but I believe the rotational effects are processed at 15fps so that it can have four times as many separate object calculations done per second without slowdown)
The only reason that most romhack videos aren't 60fps is because they were uploaded before 60fps was an option on YouTube.
Made a couple of levels that i'd like some feedback on

Air Fleet Sabotage

First two levels i've made where i've been trying to focus designing around a theme instead of just slapping new shit everywhere.
Made a new level:
Course ID: 8D65-0000-004B-1298
Course Name: Cannon Express
Pretty much a auto-scroller while your riding on a platform, dodging cannonballs and Bullet Bills.

I'm not a fan of 90% of the SFX but had a good chuckle when I found they kept the baby from mario paint's music stuff. Miss that bugger

just realized the undo button dog thing is the same one from mario paint, and the rocket was one of the canvas erase functions

Besides what The Duke said, there's also the matter of the object shadows and the fact that Mario Maker is very.. smooth about its camera and movement, compared to the original games.
And the Fly minigame is also taken from Mario Paint. Speaking of that minigame, I have no clue how to beat the boss.
Tap the living fuck out of it as fast as you are able.

I wish they gave you the option to turn off the shadows on the spirits. I like the castle in the SMB style because you can't see the shadows. It looks like the original game.

I was playing MeltingData's level, and I screwed up and fell off the map, instead of dying instantly I had this weird sound clip play of mario hitting the ground, running around and what sounded like running up stairs, then a woman whispered Super Mario Maker. Have I officially lost my mind?

Apparently there's extremely rare soundclips from falling into pits
Like Mario falling down, hitting the ground, and then getting up, laughing it off and driving away in a car off-screen while a few of the noises in the game jump in and leave with him

Just a little mini-rant here. I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but is it just me or is Expert 100 Mario Challenge getting worse and worse every day?
It honestly feels like for some reason Kaizo levels are growing in popularity and they're just making it harder and harder to collect all the amiibo costumes. I'm lucky if I can even finish a single expert session in under 2 hours.

Just do easy 100, and yes, it seems those kaizo levels are rampant on expert. Really kills the fun when expert levels are luck based instead of skill based.
I believe there's a certain point you stop unlocking costumes at the easy level. Or at least that's what my game told me. Not sure if that's the case at the Normal level because even there it's nuts in terms of difficulty scale.

Yep, stops at normal after awhile too.
Just skip levels duders, it's pretty easy to tell what's gonna be garbage.
Does anyone know if Expert has a cap on how many amiibo costumes you can get from it anyway? The first thing I did was completely exhaust Easy of all the costumes I could get and I've done 10 runs in Normal, but I decided to stop and do Expert first in case there was a limit I could hit there first.
I'd much rather go back to Normal mode after beating Expert if I can just because I have a feeling Expert is just going to devolve more and more as time goes on.
Anyone else slightly dismayed over the fact that airship levels aren't stormy and dark?
Anyone else slightly dismayed over the fact that airship levels aren't stormy and dark?
I think it's because the Airship levels in NSMBU weren't stormy and dark.
