Invisible blocks which send you unexpectedly falling to you death, especially those right at the end of a very long level, should be considered a crime worse than terrorism.
Also leaps of faiths are only ever designed into a level by cunts.
Anyone else wish you can add costumes to enemies?
Are people really just stupid? I have two uploaded stages, and on the only one that's been played - it's super easy, but only has a 12.50% clear rate.
Here's a my courses if anyone wants to give them a shot.

Even for my airship level I made sure parts of the ships were visible and had an arrow or two to help with guidance rather than be blind jumps. The one case where it's not true is a 'break the blocks with Bob-ombs or a spin jump' and a neat shortcut is to just loop beneath the ship anyway.
Tried to create something similar to SMB3's original airship levels since they're my all-time favourite.
Also hid eight 1-Up Mushrooms through the level just to spice things up.
Would be awesome if someone could give me some critique!

In my quest to keep making real ass levels I made a level called

Yoshi's Cave Crawl
B495-0000-0085-5EB3
Part of me wonders if my courses are considered easy because people are good at normal ass Mario or if they're even easy then, my courses usually hit 20-25% completion rate or so so I think that's a good end result.
Anyway this level has some scenery I liked putting together, a hidden feather and a reward for keeping yoshi the entire time (which isn't hard given how they made yoshi able to destroy everything)
I actually like autocomplete levels, when they're done well. I'm sure it must take effort to get the timing just right and stuff. Am I alone in this? Does everyone in this thread hate them?
I hate how many of them there are, and the fact they're always the top ranked ones along with "HOLD LEFT FOR 10 SECONDS OF VIDEO GAM SONG"
I don't mind them in easy, considering that even the 'actual level' type levels in easy are piss easy anyway, there's no real reason to play easy save for farming amiibos and auto complete levels just serve to make that easier.
What I really don't like is how much they are starred. Perhaps there's an element of bitterness in this, but seeing like half of the top starred category be auto complete levels, none of which I could recall in any way, whilst actual levels are left, by and large, neglected is just upsetting to me.
They're really easy to make since you have a good number of movement options and the trail mario leaves when returning to the edit screen. Also doesn't help that the concept of autocomplete has been done before and better in the SMW edits. I'm just waiting for one that does autocomplete and music playing before I can be remotely impressed like those 2008 Niconico videos.
I hope in a future update they give us an option to turn off shadows. It makes the NES styles look really off.

It may have to do with the fact that leaving comments auto-stars levels, and people love leaving shitty comments on those levels.
I think the Japanese are only capable of making autolevels and cheap as fuck levels.

I let my girlfriend play around with the game and she managed to make an autolevel. It's actually got a really funny story behind it too, she just placed stuff launching springs down and it worked on it's own without her having to retest and retest to check where Mario landed.
I wish they went farther with the mushroom costumes. Like, actually let the Splatoon costumes travel up walls or give Mega Man a blaster. Or let Mega Man look like he actually does in the NES games.

i wonder now
you know how people use mario levels to test generational ai, do it the other way around
make an ai that creates autolevels to get mario to go farther right

That would open up so many possibilities for level design. I wish that is how they would have done it in the first place.
There's no way they'd give 100 costumes they're own mechanics like what on earth
[editline]4th October 2015[/editline]
It would also just spawn a exciting new wave of "if you lose the costume you can no longer complete the level" stages which nooo thanks.

Well, if each costume had their own mechanics they could just make it so that you keep the costume for the rest of your life which is what people want, anyway.
Then it kinda stops being super mario maker and becomes Megaman Maker (albeit with Mario enemies)
So I've unlocked everything but there's one more row of stuff it looks like that I haven't unlocked, it's got a crown next to it. Anyone know what it is?

It's a "favorites" bar so you can place what you think you'll need for your level all on one line
Rage 7-2 (Piranha Pipe Maze)
33AC-0000-0096-153C
first stage submission (don't know how to upload a picture of it, but the name should suggest what it is
Edit:
I would really love an opinion on this stage...
Here is a new course from me.
[T]https://d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/WVW69ic9ywQ1RXmSNI[/T]
Amnesia Abode, guaranteed to confuse you in ways you didn't even know were possible!
02E5-0000-008D-AF84
[sp]Try to figure out how I got the pipes to work the way they do.[/sp]
Also a relatively unique boss fight:

Castle of Kingfin
3D96-0000-008E-4476
I felt the levels I made were a tad on the medium side of things so fuck it here's a hard level. Tried to make it fair but I expect a low ass completion rate on it, give it a shot

Spike Skills (Difficult)
0F9D-0000-008F-6CC3
Lemme know if you have any luck! (I included a checkpoint, but try not to cheat until you get to it legit :v: )
Here's a level I made. It's a simple platforming stage. However unlike normal levels, you can't jump on top of the enemies here.

A real thorn in your spike
8EAB-0000-0090-01D2
It should be fairly difficult, but not in an annoying way.
So, I made a new level, was curious on what everyone thought of it.
Escape From Bowser
5863-0000-0090-8D75
The basic idea is that Bowser is chasing you, and you have to run away, but you also need him to clear the path.

I did it! Worst feeling is when you get knocked off a shell, and try to get back on to only kick it away (or worse, it becomes your helmet...) How long did it take you to "validate" it?...really should've given this a star...hard without feeling too cheap
