This thread makes me want to have tha half-life beta.
Wow, a Half Life Beta fan. Nice to meet someone else who actually cares about it :P
You forgot sunglasses Gordon. Here's a screenshot I grabbed from Opposing Force.

'Stukabat'! If you didn't realise, it's refering to the Stuka dive bomber of Ww2. Also, the panther eye stage one is ownage.
I forgot how good half-life 1 was. I think I'm going to boot up some opposing forces later too.

How could you forget how good the original Half-Life was?

I stoped playing it for a while. A long while. That was when I first found counter-strike.
All that beta stuff is so sexy.:xd:
Glad you guys are enjoying the thread. I'm gonna work on replacing the shitty final stage pictures now with better ones.
I could upload HD images of the other characters if you want to.
That would be awesome. Thanks.
This thread = the tits
Cool. I'd pay to play this, it looks awesome.
Hehe, viking Gordon!
Added another section on the levels. Check post #9.
Gordon Freeman 1, the dwarf.
I booted up my opposing forces and half-life 1. I just got into the underground place with all the gonarchs. Or I think those are their names. Or is it gonom or something like that?
Edit: Yep it's gonome, if you never played opposing forces this is what they look like.

Yeah, those bitches throw balls of white intestine at you, eww.
Also, this is a nice thread.
God damn, I wish I could find my half life 1 cd key..
Oh well, I'll just buy it off steam.

Nice. That must be the later stage of headcrab zombies, when they're mutating even more so that they have a mouth on their chest.

No, it's just zombified grunts if I'm not mistaken.
No, it's the second stage.
Anyways... Awesome thread! I never knew anything about a HL1 beta. Great job, postal! Great job!
I've noticed something...
Look at the stage one heacrabs and the headcrabs on the stage one zombies. Totally different. Does that mean that the headcrabs were not originally meant to "zombify" humans, and that the zombies were only implemented after the later stages of the headcrabs? Also, some of the removed enemies are fucking awesome, especially the panthereye.
Is there any way to thank someone for something in general?

What's cool is that when one of those kills you, you wait a while, it walks up to your corpse and starts ripping you apart and putting you in its stomach
I think, the coolest thing about the zombies is: you can see the shape of the skull of it's victim. HL1 was one of the best games ever developed. I need to get that Half-Life Bible.

Well, all the stage 1's weren't made at the same time. It just means stage 1 in that particular model's development. However, the barney's and scientist's were (as far as I know) made and upgraded at the same time. And for thanking, you just have to find a post of their's in the fast thread section.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Sorry about the slow-loading pictures. I've converted them all to JPEG's, and I'm now uploading them all again onto photo-jerk.

Raising the Bar is so worth the money. If the development of Half-Life is something that interests you, then it is so worth your money!

Actually, it is, in fact, a further mutated zombie. Don't expect to see it in Half-Life 2, since, as Marc Laidlaw told me a in Email conversation of long ago, they gave Gearbox the rights to do whatever they wanted with the story, so, all that stuff they added (Race X, Gonome's, and I think that's it) isn't part of the Half-Life Universe.
Haha, another person pissed at me voted 1? It's funny that it's the only way they can think of to get back at me. Too bad I don't care .
EDIT: Pictures have all been fixed, and new ones have been added.
Both my copies of Half-Life and Half-Life 2 have screenshots of an early stage on the back.
Wonder why they left out the shadows of Half-Life. Maybe because it was too advanced for the everybodies pc's.

It was actually because it looked like shit. In my opinion at least.
Not to mention the shadows really weren't taxing on the system.
They could be more like F.E.A.R.S Shadows I would love that.

Yeah, FEAR shadows in a game over 5 years old. The panthereye is awesome.

Almost 8 year old game at that.
This thread rocks! Good work man :D
