Wow, this thread is still here?
Wow, this thread is still here?
of course! There's always new half life beta stuff to discover!
4 years later... HELL YEAH!!
Frankly, a reason why it'd be awesome for Valve to release the source for HL would be to port the shit to the iPhone, fuck yeah!
What the fuck have you done?
This thread never dies. :v:
Good, thread deserves to be on page one.
Please just let it lay to rest. It's been 6 years. (User was banned for this post ("Bumping to complain about bumping. Why reply?" - postal))
Please just let it lay to rest. It's been 6 years.
Still useful as it used to be.
That "unknown beta gun" was the RPG. Looks fucking weird.

And yes I hate it when I'm playing an old PC game and it switches to Basic Theme, too.
Some of the removed enemies are being implemented into Black Mesa: Source.
hahaha this was posted back in '06 :v:
I Know This Could Be Old News, Maybe even Really Old. But I Found Something Interesting About The First Promo Poster From the 1997 Marketing Campaign: This Is The Poster. Notice Anything Interesting Besides a Bitching Assassin?: This Is The Interesting Thing I found: Anything?
I think it might just be referring to Half Life: Uplink
I think it might just be referring to Half Life: Uplink
Probably not, that ad was from 1997, and uplink came after the release of Half-Life, my guess it's either DayOne or possible a demo for the beta that never saw the life of day because valve decided to completely redo Half-Life before the release of the demo. also postal, why is this in General Game Discussion, shouldn't it be in Valve/Steam/PowerPlay?
Because it's old as shit and everybody who cares already read it, so stop bumping it. (User was banned for this post ("bumping to complain about bumping." - postal))

(User was banned for this post ("bumping to complain about bumping." - postal))
I wasn't the one who bump it, I did bump it from 3 weeks ago, but that isn't big.
But wasn't Day One only available (at the time) to the developers only?
I'm pretty sure it was to show off a graphics card or something.
I'm pretty sure it was to show off a graphics card or something.
I know it came with an ATI Card, there's was also another build, No idea what that was packed with, maybe a 3DFX Voodoo?

Then there's some gents who also claim to have the full beta/alpha. I just wish they found them both, compiled them into a working HL1 mod, and have the option to play the alpha/ beta versions (Please, Valve?)
That would be awesome. I would love to play around in the stuff that never saw people's computer. After all, it was never leaked or previewed and only fan remakes exist. But to see the actual thing... How cool would that be?
holy crap this is old

Honestly I don't think a lot of people know how awesome both game's betas were.
Those early versions of Barney and the scientists are really fucking creepy...
I actually thought the Military Police idea was pretty cool, though I'd still like to keep the guards as allies.
This fucking thread again.
It's a thread that will be bumped forever.
This fucking thread is awesome, i wonder when someone will actually make a beta mod of this without stopping because of trolls.
