Now then, I know it's from something but I can't remember [B]what[/B]. It was an anime my younger brother watched a long time ago. I swear to god I have seen this robot before.

That robot was apparently a test because it had enough polygons on the model to crash the engine. They gave it a dancing animation to stress the engine to see if it would crash. It didn't though.

It was at that point Half Life wasn't just a quake mod, and was actually a huge deal at the time.

I'm not sure there's anything else to talk about, really. I mean, not much was known about the HL1 beta and it was never leaked or given a basic outline of a story, so there's only so much to talk about. I find it interesting myself, but the media and discussion's limited.

Well looks like someone finally leaked an alpha build of half-life 1. Only took almost 7 years of waiting but holy shit I can update this thread now. No posts in almost all of 2013, the entirety of 2014, and most of 2015. I'm guessing not much else was dug up since HL1 alpha v0.52 leak/release?

Someone turned the alpha into a mod for the retail game on Steam. I guess this is helpful if you're having trouble running the original alpha.
