So that Sim Settlements mod is really cool. It alone is carrying another playthrough for me. It's so fun using it in Vault 88, it's so much easier to expand and the mod does a really good job at having your settlers actually move around to the different buildings. With all the different options and progression, it actually feels like managing a settlement of people rather than minecraft building with other people hanging about.
Yeah. I saw that on the hot files and was kinda hesitant on downloading it. It does look insanely handy
I definitely recommend downloading it and checking it out. It goes beyond being handy and completely changes how the settlement system works. I find it meshes really well with how I like to build my settlements - realistic-looking shanty towns that feel like they've been built over time with logic and order. This mod basically forces you to manage and expand your town in natural ways. Watching an 8 part video tutorial series is more or less required to understand how it fully works, though.
I assume you can still build your own custom hideyholes with ten fridges just in case you score some sweet Nuka and need to stash some annoying kids away, right?

You want to tell me, that the actual title of that site is Lovers Lab and not Lover Slab? My entire life is a lie.

But they kind of become the core focus of the settlement system, and the settlers all seem to interact fine with them, unlike the vanilla items. It's also worth noting that the random buildings that can spring up have all been made by the community and apparently it's very easy to import your own buildings into the mod. He plans to incoporate them in bulk with every update. Okay I'll stop gushing about sim settlements now. It's just probably my favorite mod in a long while. With this and the settlement transfer mod, the settlement system is about to receive a lot more love from me in general.
Snipped
You know what's strange, I'm genuinely building settlements because the main diamond city doesn't have enough caps to sell items on mass. Vault DLC has really helped in this regard. I was building out of concrete but may have to build them all out of vault now.
So what do you do for Sim Settlements? Just plop a plot down and let them do whatever?
Sounds like Sim Settlements is going to be the center of my next FO4 run.

You know the Nexus is run by idiots when they consider access to mods to be a privilege, it's not a right but it's certainly not a fucking privilege, they like to fluff up mod creators as a whole despite alot of them being fucking terrible and even some of the good one act like retards but oh no, they make good content so we won't ban them for being dicks, like if you make good shit, that allows you to act like a cunt. Honestly, I think the Nexus is probably the fucking worst community as it's run by absolute morons.
Also have a tip for downloading files from authors who banned you. Aha content creator ban abuse, your power has no effect on me!
what the fuck? what possible reason could someone have to prevent a certain person from downloading their mod aside from pure childish spite?
what the fuck? what possible reason could someone have to prevent a certain person from downloading their mod aside from pure childish spite?
Maybe it's to stop people making videos/posts elsewhere ridiculing their stuff after they've banned them? I mean it's still ridiculous considering the obvious work-around
what the fuck? what possible reason could someone have to prevent a certain person from downloading their mod aside from pure childish spite?
A flag happened.
From what I heard of that place this seems more applicable :v: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2LQMElLoLs
Actually, that's about the one perverted song that isn't actually applicable. Anything involving Oingo Boingo's 'greatest' is completely verboten there. E: I really need to stop getting page kings with these kinds of comment.
This is a really nice mod for folks who don't enjoy the settlement building http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/21872/?
Anyone tried this with Frost? They look like the two mods that would get me back to fallout 4 but I doubt they mesh together properly
isn't FROST trash
I'm conflicted. I want to start a new TTW game but I want to wait until TTW 3.0 comes out. On the other hand, TTW 3.0 will probably break all my mods, and waiting for all the mods to be updated for it will probably take even longer.
When I made mods on nexus I generally just created, wrote crap descriptions for that shame me now because this was like six years ago, released, got really happy whenever I got endorsements, updated to appeal improve/because someone complained. Lamented when I got nothing (I never actually got nothing, I just think a mod with 8 endorsements is so disapointing when it was more effort than the one that got me 4k.) and I guess when someone comes along with something better... Well, that's my fault for not being competitive. I never really saw anything to ban people for. I got upset when someone claimed my mod caused a big FPS drop after skyrim updated how light hits grass, and called me out for my shameful writing, but that's on the maker,me, not them.

I really don't want to have to start again. Additionally on the subject of settlements, this is another oddly specific question but what's a good settlement location that would be ideal for a giant workshop. I was considering Red Rocket but I already use that as a trading hub and I need a space big enough for the automatron workshop and the signal interceptor temporarily.

I tried frost for a bit but honestly it was pretty bad imo, Horizon is so much more fun currently, especially with the new update.
So, In NV. I had decided weapons for each situation like recharger pistol for close, plasma for hard hitting and gauss along with laser for sniping but in Fallout 4 everything has laser reflection and gauss pretty much beats everything. What's the point of using any other weapon than gauss?

What's the point of using any other weapon than gauss?
It's relatively slow firing, so not great in short range, close quarters and when being attacked by multiple enemies at the same time. It's also not great with small fast enemies like them giant mosquito things and with big bullet sponges that can close the distance to you and fuck you up while you take potshots at them. I usually use a fully upgraded automatic laser for close range, a silenced assault rifle (like, a Chinese assault rifle, not what FO4 calls that) for clearing out crowded human outposts like raider camps and an explosive shotgun for keepeing big armored enemies like muties and mirelurks at bay. I mostly use the Gauss for sniping the heads off enemies from a safe distance.
My playstyle is very different, I wish there was a harder difficulty than very hard but basically stay behind cover and slowly snipe everything that is hostile. Gauss Gun is very effective at doing this. I'm not entirely happy with the level system that weapons appear at but it's really made weapons like the Gauss gun overly powerful. EDIT: Just had an attack on my vault, they didn't come VIA the vault door instead just teleported into my main area. Other secondary doors are closed with closed power doors.
I think I know where Bethesda got 40% of the Concord groups' names from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preston_Sturges
