Sudden flashback. Semi related. Has anyone seen Van Damme's Cyborg? If you're not familiar, is about a post apocalyptic badass escorting a cyborg lady back to the scientists who sent her to collect data on the world above while defending her from raiders. Commonwealth Conifers seems to put trees in odd places, even with the placement fix, the leaves coverage is extraordinarily dense, and some of the replacements for models are full-sized trees that subsequently cannot be scrapped w/o a mod that de-optimises settlement junk. There any other good tree and foliage mods that would fit Lush Landscapes well? Figured i'd go for a different colour scheme this time.
Mods for that wasteland overhaul service rifle look cool. I learned how terrifying Assaultrons are. I was doing MacReady's companion quest when he told me about Winlock and Barnes, I said "hey let's go fuck them up!" and after I did the Cabot quest and a settlement quest for Garvey we made our way over to the Mass Pike, used the elevator. I died 4 or 5 times because of that fucking insta-kill dragon ball z energy beam, holy shit. That menacing red glow terrified me. Eventually I got wise, took out my sniper hunting rifle and picked off each of the gunners on the north side of the tunnel from below, including Winlock and Barnes, and then took the elevator up and had a showdown with that fucking robot Speaking of Cabot, [sp]did I have to follow him to the asylum or could I have fast traveled?[/sp] I followed him on foot, along the way I found a set of T-51 power armor in a military truck and then he tries taking me through a fucking raider camp of raiders called 'Forged' who are all significantly stronger than me. If it wasn't for that god damn power armor I would've died, and then after the chaos has passed and the dust settled I look at my map and [sp] Cabot already arrived at the fucking Asylum while I was fighting for my life.[/sp] That cunt.
Snip-O
My first experience was on level 14 but I'm no longer scared of them, I learned charging them works against the death beam. Kinda like Dark Crusade Intro.
I've found with robots in general it's better to aim for their limbs than popping their heads. Since they take substantial firepower it's better to remove theirs first.
I've found with robots in general it's better to aim for their limbs than popping their heads. Since they take substantial firepower it's better to remove theirs first.
I tend to just charge robots and set their self destruct, otherwise if that isn't possiable allow for my murderbot to step in and destroy them as it's gattling lasers are very powerful even against creatures like the mireluke queen and behemoth.
Best way to deal with assaultrons and ghouls is aiming for the legs and crippling them. Rest is a cakewalk.
I don't get why FO4 has at least three non-default settings ini files with different settings applicable to different files; also turns out that Fallout4Custom.ini cannot override all settings. Seems like just having an .esp that loads an ini file is the easiest way to go. [editline]edit[/editline] Turns out neither an .esp defined .ini nor Fallout4Custom.ini can change settings in Fallout4Prefs.ini, though :/

[t]https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/images/1151/11550578-1489441492.png[/t]
btw: the guy behind the service rifle and WO in general said the service rifle will get it's own standalone release as well as being part of the WO pack. this is good news for impatient people like me who only want the service rifle and don't want to wait for the whole pack to be done to get it

Easiest way to deal with robots is to point at 'em, press R, and turn them off.
Shooting them works to. They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/FlLoPE1.png[/t] Yummy
although this will probably look better at release, this is why I'm just going to stick with the standard attachments mostly, they look pretty good. [t]https://i.imgur.com/MpaF6uV.jpg[/t]
Can someone please post the pip-boy mod from a few pages ago?
I don't like the service rifle. I love aspects of it. But overall, I don't like it. I think M16's are classic. I like the Vietnam era handguard (that was apparently a nuisance if you had small hands) I like that it looks like a functional weapon. Kinda. I normally would. I have mixed feelings on, well, it looking like a normal weapon from the real world. It's fallout, and america. Everything should be bigger and more expensive than it needs to be, you're not communists! It needs to be bigger, and the reciever needs more greeble. The wood needs to be either pristine and expensive looking, or look like it was taken from some sick radioactive tree. The Cailber aught to be bigger, because bigger is better, and body armour has improved leaps and bounds pre war, and there are hearty mutants post war. (A bigger caliber can just be an option, though) See, I rail against the stupid designs of shit in skyrim, but I get upset when something in fallout isn't stupid enough also. Why no wrist crossbows?
Aren't service rifles a post-war creation though?
Aren't service rifles a post-war creation though?
While the Service Rifles in New Vegas are made by the NCR, they did have a proper place in the prewar as evidenced by the Survivalist's Rifle.
This weapon was originally a U.S. checkpoint guard carbine used in Canada, issued from the Long Branch Arsenal in Toronto, Ontario, USA territory. Chambered with the 12.7mm round, this rifle was supposed to offer guards the firepower necessary to intercept anyone attempting to breach a checkpoint, regardless of equipment.
A 12.7mm round is a 50. cal The gun doesn't look like a 50. I don't see why guns would get so much smaller post apoc. I mean maybe the receiver might get simple, but that's about it.
A 12.7mm round is a 50. cal The gun doesn't look like a 50. I don't see why guns would get so much smaller post apoc. I mean maybe the receiver might get simple, but that's about it.
The Service Rifle is 5.56mm, the Survivalist Rifle is 12.7mm and has a noticeably thicker barrel to accommodate the larger round.
I have mixed feelings on, well, it looking like a normal weapon from the real world. It's fallout, and america. Everything should be bigger and more expensive than it needs to be, you're not communists!
They tried that with the """'""assault rifle"""""" that looks like a fucking WW1 machine gun, fucking retarded and impractical, it looks like a bloody antique not the pinnacle of American design philosophy. Bigger isn't always better. The Service Rifle is stylized enough in NV to look practical but not super realistic, it's a mash up of the M16 and it's forerunner, the AR10 which itself was born out of 1950's design.
Honestly at first glance, I thought FO4's Assualt Rifle was a post-war creation made out of mufflers or something. Explains why I found them alot around the Corvega plant :v:

I mean maybe the receiver might get simple, but that's about it.
Maybe it's a Beowulf .50? I mean looking at the 12.7mm SMG and the 12.7mm Pistol I'm sure the 12.7mm cartridge isn't meant to be equivalent to the .50 BMG (that's what the .50 MG cartridge is)
I think the assault rifle looks really stupid, but not enjoyably so, and I wonder what they were thinking. The chinese assault rifle (later the home made rifle) should've been in the base game Instead of the assault rifle. Keeping all the 7.62 ammo in a DLC area is crazy. A thing about Bethesda DLC I don't like is that they're so contained. It can be better for continuity and it's much better for mods, and I realise to some extent the code has issues with different stuff making different changes in the same area but they could've gotten past that. Nuka world or, say, dawnguard would've done so much better if they added AKs/Crosbows to the whole world, if they gave random raider/bandit groups some of their new styles, and new items were added to merchant lists.
I dunno, I kinda like the Assault Rifle. Its big, its stupid, and its impractical as all hell but I think it fits the Fallout universe just fine. Not every weapon needs to be this super accurately designed and efficient gun, there are plenty of weapons that are big and exaggerated in the Fallout universe already so I feel it fits.

How... How do you milk them?
