Yeah they're remaking the game for us basically, they've done as much work if not more than the developers by now.

Cut the zinger and tell me what prevented Bethesda from doing that themselves.
it's not that heavy, the big issues are the grip is for little baby hands, the charging handle is on the wrong side, and the magazine catch is in an awkward position.
because in order to do it flawlessly (and not the buggy and unstable stuff modders can make) they would need to totally rework how reloading works in Fallout 4, probably requiring them to go digging through the source code and making far larger modifications than their DLCs usually have
for a single gun
To add onto this, another issue I've always heard being complained about is the safety lever. On something like an AR, the safety falls right on your thumb and you can switch it off in an instant. On an AK it's on the other side and higher up and takes some reaching to get to with your index finger.
Funnily enough, both the charging handle and the selector switch were things updated on the old AK-12 design that got reverted to the original AK designs on the production model.
Keeping in mind that Russians approach gun safety a lot differently than western shooters do, the AK safety makes sense for how they use it -- it's a storage lock, not something you're meant to toggle every time you take the gun off-target like western shooters are accustomed to.
What I really hate about the AK is how hot the bits of metal around the forend get. If your fingers slip just a bit too far forward while handling the rifle you might as well have grabbed the barrel itself for the kind of burn it'll give you.
I really love the AK's charging handle because it feels fucking amazing to operate but it isn't the best design for high speed low drag tactical operations.
But ain't the AK something so popular that it got copies all over the world. The chinese make them, the arabs make them, eastern europe makes them, israel's galil is like the same thing with a bottle opener.
The chinese assault rifle is ugly and all but I'd realy think it'd look good if they took the Chinese AR, got the AK, and tried to find a happy midpoint for them.
AK is so popular around the world because the Soviets (and Chinese) made a metric shit ton of them, had all the Warsaw Pact countries make them, and liscened the design(along with manufacturing assistance) to anyone who was interested. They were sold and spread wherever weapons were needed. Along with all that, its extremely durable fire arm that can last a VERY long time with minimal maintenance.
Doesn't necessarily mean its an ergonomic design, however.

That's all I'll say about this.

worked well enough with crabs, dont see why ponies can't happen
Even though it is ponies, I hope this means that more custom player races can be added like NV.

Dunno, maybe the fact they were making the largest expansion they ever worked on at the same time ?
Like I'm pretty sure if the gun had been in the game from the very beginning it would have had a proper reload animation, and I'm basing this on the fact they introduced a whole new reloading system just for the laser musket.
Mad because I can't finish the far harbor story because of a bug. I'm supposed to dig up something but it won't let me
This guns seem to be basically a pneumatic muzzle loaded tranq gun. With that in mind maybe it could have mods that convert it to fire rebar or something.

I need to move on from this, so what format would anyone like the model(s) to be in? (assuming anyone wants it).
Well it was originally supposed to be a biological weapon so maybe base the projectile on plasma and make it deal poison/bleed damage over time ?

What I was meant to say that, because of how spread this design was and how many people manufactured it, many would have added their own fixes/adjustments to it, like the Israelis making the Galil with the bottle opener.
Years later they might have changed design, but it's much smarter to try and get everything right the first time than to make many copies of something that could've been improved on relatively easily, and then make the update, and then have a few thousand archaic rifles.
So. Fallout.
I noticed that in my girlfriend's playthrough of Fallout 1, she'd accidentally found the master's lair, and despite her level, has a plasma rifle and had been killing Nightkin with it in the place above (she still had leather armour)
Despite that, she seems to be managing alright.
Oh, and the cathedral is pretty cool.

Despite being based on it, the Galil was by no means a simple AK clone, and there a several more differences between them beyond the bottle opener. Wikipedia tells me these include stuff like the trigger mechanism, the additional thumb fire selector and of course using NATO standard 5.56 ammo with all that entails.
Speaking of the "years later" part though, the Tavor is way cooler.

Nice work, I'll take it off your hands if noone else does, in case someone on the modding discord wants to have a go at it. FBX would be great
What power armour overhaul should I go for? Noticed that ZephyrWarrior's hasn't been updated for quite a long time, and there's an absolute mess of mods that deal with power armour.
Snip-O
Why do you need one? Power armor is basically perfect in the base game.
Why do you need one?
