Is the game really that buggy for you guys? The only bugs I've come across were when areas didn't load in or LoD wouldn't be removed while using a HDD, but they've stopped since I switched to a SSD. I've only had the game crash when it was heavily modded.
The way you guys talk about it it's like it crashes every hour and everything is constantly breaking. Even Fallout 3 wasn't that bad and that's by far the buggiest game Bethesda have released.
I don't think I've ever actually crashed, but there are definitely bugs. Jumping on a car and instantly dying, and getting trapped between a bench and roof come to mind...
I never had a car do a physics spaz until one of yall started talking about it a few days ago.
I've had bodies fly across the map.

Not only that but also access to the console means I was able to fix the one quest that broke for me, it's annoying as hell when for example a side quest in mass effect breaks and then oh well guess I have to wait until next play through and hope it doesn't break again.
I like how Shaun says, in the same quest, that Synths don't have free will and then also that The Institute isn't to blame for their actions.
I don't know why we can't just throw that shit back in his face really and say, "Yeah well if you didn't make them there wouldn't be any problems, but people have to be held accountable for what they do, so fuck off you moron."

You can, it's the 5th option. Just scroll down.
What are some essential mods to make new vegas not crash with heavy mods? Running with a 2540x1440 setup
Its fun to have an alternate start mod on fallout 4 and roleplay as if you are the Courier sent on a mission by House to investigate the threat the institute poses.
For me, Yao Guai are the most liable to physics freak out and go flying. I have several screenshots of space-faring Yao Guai just from them getting hit with a hunting rifle bullet and deciding to become an astronaut.
The amount of time dogmeat runs into cars and fucking sits there howling.
piece of shit i aint wasting a stimpack on you
You know, as much as I hear people bad talk the settlement building system, I really like it. I find that majority of the time I spend the playing the game is just building for fun.
Like this is just a small and really shallow spring for me to keep caught Mirelurks in:

I think there is a line to be drawn somewhere that defines when you should stop, but fuck it.
My main peeve with the settlement system is some locations are so small they don't deserve to be called settlements, more like homesteads or farms.
Finch farm for example, should've been an allied location and not something to be built on. We should've been able to retake Quincy or reclaim University Point. Other than that it's fun to build.
--
I reached Freeside in my new NV run, don't know if any of my mods did this but a lot of low level nps have some mid-level weapons and armor. Jackals at the county jail south of Primm had grenade rifles, Bright Followers have plasma and laser rifles in abundance, and Legion assassin's had super sledges and other crazy shit.
Hey, earned me a lot of caps. :v:

Bright followers always have laser and plasma rifles, even at low levels. They get plasma defender and (IIRC) laser RCW at high levels. The dead ones, that is... live ones have laser pistols :v:

legion assassins always have a super sledge or thermic lance guy regardless of level and those Jackals usually have grenade rifles.
the game mostly ignores that whole level scaling thing other than the assasins and enemies in lonesome road if I recall
I remember the first time I played Lonesome Road.
That was the first time I'd ever fucking tore through deathclaws without issue and it was awesome.

when I did it earlier this week I was level 50 with max energy weapons and it still took like 5 shots of a fully modded holorifle shit was terrifying

Has there been any mods made to unfuck the game design of Fallout 4? Or are all the problems too deep to unfuck?

Band aids, mostly, like the Silent Protagonist and Alternate Start mods.
Most of its problems are buried too deep to unfuck.

Those are story design woes, not game design. I mean loot system overhauls and legendary item changes, and perk replacements.
There's some subjectivity in what's fucked with the game design, if you actually want help finding specific mods you're going to need to be a bit more specific

or if you just want to complain keep going :)
There's some subjectivity in what's fucked with the game design
Poor Dialogue.
Lack of meaningful consequences and homogenization of choice.
Removal of RPG elements such as skill up trees and karma.
Pre-Defined character and goal.
That's all fucked by design and it ain't subjective :why:
Hallmarks of a Bethesda RPG.

Pre-defined character and goal is not fucked by design and isn't subjective, neither is the removal of karma.
I'm really glad they removed karma (well, they kinda just put it into the personalities of followers). I don't think there should be (visible) metrics for karma at all.
I'm not bothered by the whole "you are an army veteran man" because that'd be my go to character anyway since I have zero imagination
but for the other 99% of people who want to play an RPG, I can totally see how the backstory could annoy you since creating your own character and story is fun
Karma is such a stupid system.
"Good job, you shot that junkie in the face real good. Wait, no don't take his stuff, that's terrible!"
