I'm really glad they removed karma (well, they kinda just put it into the personalities of followers). I don't think there should be (visible) metrics for karma at all.
I liked the reputation system New Vegas had, it was a similar enough but was tailored to different factions rather than just an over all good/bad spectrum, it felt like your actions had a bigger impact if people spoke to you differently or allowed new options depending on how you'd treated them/other factions
Removal of...karma. Pre-Defined character.
So do you want them to tell you how to play or not? I don't see how you can criticize them removing karma, which forces you to be a fucking goody-two-shoes if you don't want to be scolded every five seconds with an annoying sound and "you're a bad" message in the corner, but then criticize them forcing you to play as a father looking for his son. People living and dying in the Mojave just depends on my mood at the time. Bottlecap Mgee and "Bye" McLottery are casulties that result for no reason almost every playthrough.

Haven't seen anyone mention this and haven't any mods on the nexus about it but I've seemed to have stumbled across the source files for the Enclave Radio from Fallout 3 They are a bit longer than the ones in game and they have a few extra songs. Figured I'd share it in case anyone might be looking for higher quality versions of the songs.
its also funny how you can turn from a loving parent to a killing-obsessed raider overboss with nuka world, and promptly right back again if you haven't finished the main quest
It's funny how the BoS has a no questions asked shoot on sight policy with synths and nick can just chill in diamond city while knights are strutting around there :v:
"It's amazing that people trust you enough not to attack me!" Either that, or Nick is just too suave / cool / handsome for him to be considered another casualty under that same policy.
It's funny how the BoS has a no questions asked shoot on sight policy with synths and nick can just chill in diamond city while knights are strutting around there :v:
It's no Synths. They're allowed to have one.
I don't know if the brotherhood is shoot-on-sight with the Gen 1 and 2 synths, since they're pretty much just fancy robots with less personality than your average Assaultron. I thought that it is the scientific safety disregard of the Institute (which they're especially shit at), and the Gen 3 synths that Maxson regards as techno-heresy. Nick knows that he is a machine with implanted memories, and does not hide the fact, which is why people accept him.
So I'm starting another New Vegas play-through for old time's sake but I'm gonna mod it to hell and back, anyone have a favorite obscure/lesser known mod they recommend 'cause I've already loaded up with all the big-namers.
The amount of time dogmeat runs into cars and fucking sits there howling. piece of shit i aint wasting a stimpack on you
My favorite thing was going up to the Brotherhood of Steel airship in Survival mode. 100% guaranteed to have your companion spawn off the deck and fall and then they just go home.

It seemed to me like karma was mostly shoved to the side in favor of faction relations which imo fit the games theme of "not everything is wholly good or wholly evil" better than just a linear number value. [editline]23rd April 2017[/editline] ZA WARUDO

[editline]23rd April 2017[/editline] ZA WARUDO
Its been a while since I played, but didn't the faction relations in Vegas have the enemy faction sending squads after your ass at random intervals? I wouldn't mind something like that for a play-through of FO4 but since you can be on good terms with all factions for a long time it wouldn't make as much sense.
It's funny how the BoS has a no questions asked shoot on sight policy with synths and nick can just chill in diamond city while knights are strutting around there :v:
I think Nick gets a free pass because he's openly wearing his inhumanity. Like I don't know the specifics of how "anyone can be a communist" becomes less scary if the guy in question wears a red army uniform and vocally espouses Marx. But you've not got an insidious infiltrator, you've got a robot pretending to be human, rather than a human that's secretly a robot. You've also got to factor in that with a synth, he/she's tricked everyone else and only you know, so It's up to you.. With valentine, he hasn't tricked anyone, and nobody seems to be ganking him so there must be more to it, do you want to be the one in the wrong? The least stupid risk in Bethesda's writing.
Can't Strong and Hancock go on the airship too tho
its also funny how you can turn from a loving parent to a killing-obsessed raider overboss with nuka world, and promptly right back again if you haven't finished the main quest
i think its something about the duality of man
Its been a while since I played, but didn't the faction relations in Vegas have the enemy faction sending squads after your ass at random intervals? ...
Yeah they do, and it is a major pain in the butt. *Trading at the 188 Trading post* -"The Caesar has marked you for death, and the Legion obeys." -"Oh, for the love of..." *Whole trading post joins the fight* *Half of the traders die* ...And then you limp on your two broken legs all the way to the New Vegas clinic.
i think its something about the duality of man
cannibal one day, savior of man the next
cannibal one day, savior of man the next
Shia LaBeouf?
Shia LaBeouf?
It's missing the third step: Cannibal, savior of man, crazed flag man.
Isn't crazy flag man just Ulysses?
Isn't crazy flag man just Ulysses?
His step is "crazed nuclear-weapons-armed flag man".
iirc karma in new vegas meant practically nothing and is mostly a vestigial system from fo3
mostly yeah but there were karma checks from the companions iirc it affects the end cutscene too I think I haven't played new vegas in like 5 years though so grain of salt etc.
It does effect endings, it's mostly effects how the aftermath of things went down, IE good independent ending meant everyone lived in utopia, bad meaning it was total chaos and stuff similar to that
Going to Post this in the Warhammer Thread As Well. This Just popped up on my radar:
http://www.modiphius.com/fallout.html
Looks like direct model rips, apparently it's 32mm, but the people over at LAF think it could be 28mm or somewhere inbetween the two.
On my new playthrough I had two legion squads show up one after the other. The first one after I was leaving Novac and the second as I walked up to the gas station by the Lonesome Drifter. I had ED-E and a Mr. Handy(RobCo Certified) and it was still a pain in the ass because of the super sledges. On my way to Boulder City I kept looking over my shoulder, fuckers can spawn out of sight and have a faster than normal running speed. :scream:
