Currently trying to play FO4, but the script extender instantly crashes giving this error:
SHGetFolderPath 00000005 failed (result = 80070005 lasterr = 00000005)
Assertion failed in IDebugLog.cpp (64): SUCCEEDED(err) (code = FFFFFFFF80070005 (-2147024891))
I have no idea why this is or what is causing it. I have even tried updating the script extender and no joy.

Okay my friend helped me figure out the problem. It's Bitdefender's Ransomware detection shit. It's crazy fussy and will generally just give you a bad time. Disable it and things should work!
Just got a good few hours into my new playthrough only to find out I hadn't updated the unofficial patch in forever and most people are saying don't use the old version. Wondering if it's worth risking just uninstalling the old version and installing the new one.

Keep a save with the old version, keep a copy of the old version, and install the new version to continue from. If things seem really out of whack, go back to the old save and the old version.
If the new version works perfectly, then great. Mission accomplished.
If the new version breaks your save, you've lost some time but not what you've done now.
If you keep the old version and it still works, then you can go back to it if the the new one doesn't.
If you carry on with the old version and it breaks then you were doomed before you began.
I had Darker Nights installed this time with 24/7 mode on, and lemme just say that I can't see shit out here. The sun came up once but it was blood red and didn't feel like shining. I miss sunlight.

A good idea, my main fear was just that I'll install the new version and it will be fine until 50 hours later and my saves are suddenly horribly corrupt or bloated or whatever but I guess I'll have to take that risk

The only reported issue is "all systems go" sometimes not showing up in dialogues when not assigned, but it's a very small price to pay.
I finally got around to finishing Nuka World. I killed all the raiders afterwards and reclaimed my settlements but Preston Garvey still hates me. This is fine, because I hate Preston Garvey. Now he won't follow me or give me quests, which I consider a plus. I built him his own personal hell in the back corner of the castle and he must suffer eternally.

Guys, I need help.
I got in a fight with some buck wild cazadors and they poisoned Veronica. I did not notice this, and both my quicksave and autosave were seconds before her death. I gave her stimpacks but she refuses to use them. It's hardcore mode. So I did what any sensible person wold. Fast-traveled to a random location, told her to stay, and fast traveled the fuck away. Now I'm scared to get back there because I know if I see her she'll die.
To make matters worse, her voice keeps whispering her last words in my head wherever I go.
Oh, and I also have to kill her whole family for Caesar.
Thoughs?

Maybe she's better off dead. Life under the Legion probably wouldn't be great for her in particular.

Delete save, uninstall game, uninstall steam, delete steam account, throw away computer, close bank account, fake death, get new identity, open new bank account, buy new computer, make new steam account, rebuy Fallout New Vegas, reinstall Fallout New Vegas, start new game.

That kinda would have been a neat angle for Maxson, a corruption of the bright and optimistic space heroes common in popular media before the war.

I'm on a personal quest to collect all of the quantum-themed weapons in the game.
Short term goal is to build a line up of soda powered wonder weapons to complement the power armor you find in Galactic Zone. Long term, I am looking for a sci-fi themed weapon to use at a closer range so that I don't accidentally kill myself with the explosive minigun.
All of them are exceedingly powerful with maxed demolition expert and heavy gunner. Well, all of them except the paddle ball. Even with the quantum ball upgrade, I am not even sure it does anything at all.
It's a bit late, but I haven't seen it on the thread so :

I really hope they will release it as a standalone, because It's my favorite Combat armor design.

I like the look of the heavy classic armor the best. It looks juuuuuuuust right to me, not too bulky, etc

In all seriousness though it being BodySlide compatible would be nice, since BodySlide honestly is the best option for giving your character or any other female a better body type. (Any type aswell)
Don't worry, someone will come along behind them with a CBBE version that's only the shoulder pads, kick plates, and little armored pasties.

I'm beyond excited for this, not after my posts detailing how much I fucking hate fallout 4's default combat armor.
I must be the only one who likes Fallout 4's combat armor (Sturdy) and thinks Fallout 3's is ugly
