I wish New Vegas redesigned 3 had a TTW variant, I'm stuck on 2 and 3 had some good ones
i need bluetape outfit
Comission Niero and TheKite to make it. Hate yourself in the morning.
The railroad puzzle was kind of underwhelming. I wish developers would make challenging puzzles instead of just the narrative idea of a puzzle. There's no risk of hurting your players because the internet is a thing, those who don't want to figure it out can just google it.
I actually got excited when I followed the freedom trail and wrote everything down and shit, I was like oh wow is this a real puzzle this sure beats the spinning rocks in skyrim and then I got to the church and went down to the basement, found the dial and started putting things in and got to like 'RAI' before I was like "oh fuck off it's Railroad isn't it wasting my time with this shit"
As soon as I saw the dial and that you could only use the letters from the words "freedom trail", I automatically assumed it was railroad, but I didn't want to believe. "They wouldn't make it that obvious", I thought.
at least Deacon makes up for the disappointment

Bethesda have got worse and worse in regards to any sort of puzzle in regards to their games Fallout 4 is no exception here, I mean for fuck sake a lot of the puzzles in Skyrim feel like they were designed for children, those overused as fuck Snake Bird Whale puzzles man, just fucking stupid. Now shit like having to figure out that you have to look at the symbols on the claw to set the rings on the door to open it, that's interesting, shame they overused the SHIT out of it, but the first time was very interesting, pity just like the Snake Bird Whale puzzle it was basically the same thing over and over again with no real variation.
Is Fallout a series that has ever relied on puzzles? I can't remember any puzzles in the series. [editline]12th January 2017[/editline] Not saying the Fallout 4 puzzles were good, just that prior to 4 I don't remember any puzzles.

I'd rather play a game with no puzzles at all than a game with trash puzzles. God of War's puzzles could get jarringly fucking terrible when you had to stop playing normally for like half an hour to push blocks into slots.
After Far Harbour i really don't want bethesda doing puzzles again, i was happy and didnt knew it And Fallout 2 had the brain/robot puzzle in Sierra Army Depot iirc
Fallout Character Overhaul Can anyone help me fix this?
Yeah wear gloves. Do the bethesda way and cover up the problem instead of fixing it.
It's the closest thing to a puzzle I remember at-least.
The "puzzles" in the originals were the quests and dialogue themselves. As in, how do I finish this quest/conversation without just shooting everybody?
Yeah, get a better character overhaul mod, that one's awful.
can you recommend a Character Overhaul mod that doesn't suck ass?
Is Fallout a series that has ever relied on puzzles? I can't remember any puzzles in the series.
Fallout NV had the biggest puzzle in the series. You have to go north to win but there are deathclaws in the way... What do? [sp] the answer is to go south instead and interact with a bunch of factions you don't care about![/sp]

New Vegas is packed with those. When I'm talking about puzzles I generally mean stuff where you have to interact with the area around you and look at hints or make out a system to get trough different "challenges" or whatever.
well, NV had lots of instances where you needed one of a few skills to operate something, like you need to get to a door, but the room is filled with turrets and bad guys. with the right skill you could either stealth by, hack the turrets to turn them off or turn them on the bad guys, speak your way out of the badguys with speech checks, or use repair skills to fix a second path or lockpick to bypass the room entirely. NV had puzzles in the sense that taking it slow, playing it smart could let you avoid getting into trouble, but you could also just barge in guns blazing
The "puzzles" in the originals were the quests and dialogue themselves. As in, how do I finish this quest/conversation without just shooting everybody?
In FO2 more than FO1. FO1's pacifist solutions were 99% of the time just hidden skill checks during dialogue. NV of all of them has the most quests that let you think outside of the box or that have semi-hidden solutions, even if it's simple things like being able to join the bad guys in a quest initiated and railroaded by the good guys (see goodsprings). It's also one of the rare series where "fuck it just shoot them all" is a valid option throughout, and it's only gotten more prominent (for better or worse) with the ability to actually outright stop dialogue while people are still talking and just pop their heads off.
and it's only gotten more prominent (for better or worse) with the ability to actually outright stop dialogue while people are still talking and just pop their heads off.
But then they're essential and just get back up after you murder everyone else who isn't. And they're not even mad!
But then they're essential and just get back up after you murder everyone else who isn't. Of all the thing to complain - They complain about the fact that there are cazadors and deathclaw if you try to go directly to vegas via goodspring! It's not like they restrict your movement, you can go but you will die. Of course there is going to be zone that are ways too strong for you, and of course you'll be forced to use certain ways to avoid those. It's not like there are invisible walls blocking you or anything guys. they don't restrict your movement or freedom in anyway. It's literally cherrypicking in my opinion to try and make fallout 3 more legitimate and says that you got a bigger freedom in it than in NV - and IT DOES NOT.
Ain't no-one essential in New Vegas [sp]Except Victor for the beginning quests of the story, Yes Man, and the Gun Runner's Shopbot. All (unsexy) robots.[/sp]
he's talking bout 4, they both are.
Trailer to win yall non believers over! [hd]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5D1aTE8vIg[/hd]
Now all we need is an outfit mod for both males and females that is literally just blue tape in the style of those really silly "present ribbon" pinups that surface around Christmas time.
he's talking bout 4, they both are.
Oops, sorry. Bad reading on my part.
can you recommend a Character Overhaul mod that doesn't suck ass?
I know this one doesn't get alot of love but I do like the redesigned 3 mod which also can use Character Over (Or I think it does) http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/56312/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fnewvegas%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D56312%26preview%3D&pUp=1
But then they're essential and just get back up after you murder everyone else who isn't. And they're not even mad!
Quest givers are usually essential until their quest starts but then you can just murder them outright. You can wipe out all of the MQ factions save for the minutemen that way.
