I must be the only one here who likes the Tunnelers. Helps that their design takes influence from other weird sci-fi mutants such as The Mole People or C.H.U.D.
I'm more disappointed in how they share the same animations + model skeleton as the Trogs and Spore Carriers.

Design-wise and gameplay-wise I liked them. I just don't believe Ulysses when he says they'll take over the Mojave. He's a lying twonk who is trying to beat you down with words.
On the subject of fallout outside of America, I can't really see it working for a full game.
However, having a DLC set overseas is a decent idea- and if they ever go down the dragon-age-multiple-origin-stories-intro route you could have the main character being born over-seas in a nation reduced to a total hellscape as one of the origins, in which you travel to america via boat after setting off desperately in search of a better life.
Either way you could get a glimpse into the rest of the world and retain the themes of American exceptionalism by contrasting American post-war and pre-war culture against whatever nation they had you visit/originate from.
Sorry to derail the topic a bit, but does anyone know how to/if it's possible to enable the same night-vision overlay you get in those scopes but with a piece of armor? I've been working on recreating this thing

from OWB/Dead Money and I'd like to give it that night vision effect it had in New Vegas.
Did Vault-tec even make vaults outside the U.S.?
One of the vault-tec ads mentions exciting locations in "newly annexed canada", I forget which game it was. Might have been the museum in 3?
[editline]e[/editline]
Although if canada was annexed, then wouldn't it still count as being in the US?
Canada could potentially pass for a fallout game location, as it is technically the U.S., and could be plenty of the ol' U.S. culture mixed with the backlash from local Canadians.
only if there's an underground resistance called maple force operating out of toronto, and they have blue tape on all of their weapons and outfits.
I'd dig a snow environment that didn't have garbage gameplay like a certain DLC for FO3.
We'd also be able to incorporate more survival shit since you have to deal with the cold now through mods.
Both America and China were nuked. I've seen people in this thread claim China is just an irradiated crater but I've never seen anything in the games to support that.
Europe and the Middle East got fucked before the Great War due to the Resource Wars draining all the valuable resources. People almost definitely still live there, but it'd be a very different kind of wasteland.
I don't recall Africa or South America ever being mentioned.
As for a non-America Fallout I think that a mainline game could easily work in Canada or Mexico, but a game set on another continent would need a different title (if only to placate the "'Murrica only!" people).
This is China.
Looking for unofficial patch mods on the PS4.
My two pet peeves in the game are that automatrons cannot directly sell you things as a vendor, and that the way ammunition is handled with the laser gatling makes my eyes twitch with thousands of partially depleted cores.
Any mods on the PS4 that fix these specific issues? They would honestly complete my experience.
the more we ignore of mothership zeta the better
the more we ignore of mothership zeta the better
Agreed. If there's anything that should be considered so absurd and outright contradictory to the themes of the series in the first place that it should be considered non-canon, it should be Mothership Zeta. I think it's arguable that its existence as canon is even outright damaging to the Fallout series.

there was a crashed alien ship in the earlier games, bethesda just went full retard with it. i fail to see the problem here.
Aliens in Fallout. DLC based on aliens. Human companions from across time. No [sp]Elvis/[/sp]The King.
C'mon Nintendo.
I could see a fallout set in another country if it had the same themes and play with that countries ideologies. Say a post-war Britain, except its Post Resource Wars and it heavily resembles 1984 and it plays with stuff like British stoicism and classism. Britain had become closed off and survived through extreme rationing and pure will, but the government became totalitarian and fed the population constant propaganda to prevent society from collapsing.
Anyone knows how to calculate melee weapons range in New Vegas? Does it depends from equipment type (i.e. Melee or unarmed)?
there was a crashed alien ship in the earlier games, bethesda just went full retard with it. i fail to see the problem here.
Those were easter eggs and basically didn't have any effect on any characters besides the player. They were basically inconsequential little jokes.
Now that Mothership Zeta has shown that there is actually a significant alien presence in the Fallout series and their technology far, far surpasses what humans have achieved, it now raises some questions as to how significant it could be.
For instance, a single lone group of mercenaries or whatever could pillage a crashed alien ship and made off with a whole bunch of those disintegrator rifles and epoxy and whatnot and basically establish dominance by vastly technologically outmatching everyone else, considering the disintegrator rifle is orders of magnitude more powerful than even the more powerful energy weapons found in the wasteland. Not only that, just like how the alien ship in Mothership Zeta continues to hover over the wasteland with the NPCs you've met still inside. This means that it could also be used as an impenetrable safehouse.
Then there's how the aliens have been established to have created the pony toys and been the ones to ultimately instigate the nuclear war to begin with. This has some really pertinent questions such as: How did the aliens get the US and China to nuke each other when they have shown throughout Mothership Zeta to be incapable of communicating to humans? How did the (supposedly advanced) intelligence agencies be completely oblivious to a 3rd party meddling with the whole thing? How did the pony toys become introduced to US society unnoticed if it was entirely an alien creation?
Even their actions within Mothership Zeta are still a bit inconsistent. How has no one noticed the distress beacon and the big flying saucer? Surely someone would else would have been wandering in the area and noticed a crashed alien ship. And I'm very, very certain that the laser fired at earth at the end of the DLC that devastates China would be heard through pretty much the whole world, it would be a phenomenon that absolutely everyone would notice and everyone would be talking about, yet as soon as it does happen, it might as well not have happened.
Pretty sure the Zetans didn't create the Giddyup Buttercup toys first and just have a bizarre fixation on them for some reason.
It's also completely up in the air if they were the ones who instigated the Great War.
all i want is a mod for tale of two wastelands that makes it so you're required to have wild wasteland to start mothership zeta
that or approach the site with jet, psycho, and med-x active
the hunting rifle is the best weapon in 3 and new vegas and im willing to fight
the hunting rifle is the best weapon in 3 and new vegas and im willing to fight
Not wise, you'd only miss every other shot and do no damage with the next one.

I managed to enable the 'detect life' vision that you usually get in certain power armour helmets for a scope I made, and I did it using keywords. Maybe check the object mods for the night vision scope for certain keywords? It might not work the same as the detect life is more of a passive whereas night vision is through the scope.

If anything i liked Mothership Zeta being a standalone DLC because it meant i could ignore it existing just like i do with Lonesome Road
I'm not nearly as offended as some people are by it existing but i sure don't like it either. Fallout always had and always will have the zany stuff and pop culture references but its better to keep them as easter eggs/wild wasteland stuff than making them part of the story/lore

O-oh... I think we can cross China off the list then

Actually no, it's not, Fallout 4 has clearly stated that China started the war, further proving what President Dick Richardson said all those years ago in Fallout 2 to be the truth (Not that he had any reason to lie, you were just a savage after all) and that whole thing about the Zetans starting it was cut content and even then it was only implied that they were mind raping someone for the codes, it never mentioned if they had them or not.
So other than being a pretty over the top DLC, Mothership Zeta doesn't really effect anything lore wise, which is why it's so easily ignorable and ultimately harmless in the long run.

If you look closely at the texture in the files, you'll see that it is, infact north america.
Mothership Zeta is non-canon and is just LW having a fever dream

And Lonesome Road is just Ulysses gone insane and mistaking the courier for someone else entirely
I don't know what this hate for Lonesome Road is about. I personally found it beautiful.

No? Do people really misunderstand what was happening in Lonesome Road? Ulysses says you built The Divide into a prosperous town because to him you represent the NCR, to him you are the metaphoric embodiment of everything the NCR is. All the courier actually did was drop off a couple of packages, one of which happened to include the trigger for the nukes, but because Ulysses sees things as having intrinsic meaning he views you as being responsible for the destruction of the Divide because you delivered it's destruction, both literally and figuratively.
